    Set aside Smith's refusal to pronounce "WembanyaMA" correctly (clearly intentional at this point), does he even know that RC Buford isn't the Spurs GM anymore? Yes, he still has input, but Brian Wright is the one ultimately working these transactions. Also, I think Chris Paul is also considering his life after playing is over, and if coaching is something that he wants to pursue (and he's such a live-eat-breathe-sleep basketball head, I think it is), mentoring under Pop is the smartest, best thing he could be doing, and shows how serious he is about it.

    Wish Lakers could have got him. Tired of DLo. Need a pg that can dribble, playmake, and defend. We don’t have any those things. DLo was our best shooter last year but he doesn’t do anything else. Honestly would rather keep Vincent over Russell because Vincent can shoot at a decent percentage and is a smart help and pick n roll defender. Honestly at this point, trading for Trae or Donovan is unrealistic. Would love to get Tyus Jones, Collin Sexton, or even Dennis Shroeder in a trade. We can’t continue to depend on Lebron at age 39 to be our point guard.

      "Need a pg that can dribble, playmake, and defend"............CP3 can't do none of those things at a high level anymore.
      "DLo was our best shooter last year but he doesn’t do anything else".............DLo was easily the best PASSER/PLAYMAKER in a lakers uniform not named LeBron James.
      "Honestly would rather keep Vincent over Russell because Vincent can shoot at a decent percentage and is a smart help and pick n roll defender."...................Naw. I like Gabe but outside of defense, DLo is still the better option at point. When Gabe played, he was non factor offensively.
      "We can’t continue to depend on Lebron at age 39 to be our point guard."...................Y'all don't. He plays off ball most of the time.
      As bad as y'all want DLo gone......it's kinda challenging to replace his production because he was easily the 3rd most impactful player on the team.
      ..........casuals.

    • @davidparks4835
      @davidparks4835 7 днів тому +1

      @@artmessiah83 Did you not watch the last season? Lebron and AR were the primary ball handlers. DLo is not a bad player at all, he is just a catch and shoot corner player, which is still effective. But he is not the one running plays besides when he gets into those occasional floaters and pick n rolls with Davis. And Chris Paul is not done yet, he will have a great effect on Wemby. Of course Paul didn’t look the same behind Curry, he played less minutes and was in a different style of offense. Warriors move the ball a lot and it doesn’t stick in one player’s hands. So Paul, being a great playmaker and passer, didn’t really fit that style. Spurs is a much better fit for him.

    • @artmessiah83
      @artmessiah83 7 днів тому

      @@davidparks4835 yes I did……and from what just read, you didn’t at all.
      -Most of Dlo’s 3s were on the move, pull ups that he created.
      -the only time AR was the primary handler is when both lebron and DLo is NOT on the floor and when he did do it, he was terrible at it. AR is naturally a SG that occasionally cosplays as a PG whenever Dlo and LeBron are on the bench.
      -no he did not run plays….but neither did Lebron or anybody else. One of Darvon Ham’s main critiques as a coach was his lack of running plays. The players mostly created the action.
      -dlo's job wasn't just shooting 3s. His job was to help LeBron run the offense. Shooting 3s just happen to become his main thing because he was their best shooter by far.
      -The Spurs did not sign CP3 to win games or become contenders. They signed him to help develop Wemby. He's still a brilliant basketball mind but reality, he's now a veteran backup PG on MOST teams.

      @davidparks4835 7 днів тому +1

      @@artmessiah83 Look, I love your passion. But you are wrong. Just because DLo dribbles the ball up the court doesn’t mean he’s running plays. And Chris is a starter on many teams. It’s just that no one in their right mind would start someone over Steph. But I do agree that Reaves is not a good ball handler. I like his ability to draw fouls when he’s running the offense but he gets too many turnovers. You are right about that.

      Worst deal ever and I am sorry for wemby 36 years old and a kid who does not have no strength, old man who doesn’t have any strength. What is the plan here make no sense. Last year they beat them because they don’t have men in the team. Don’t have the power to resist grown men.

    Wemby is different, I don't think the cards for San Antonio are settled. CP3 is in a great place, money settled ( no state income tax). He's about to mentor champions.

    • @Flacogatoalx

      He can. Wemby has been there only one year and just because CP3 is there doesn't mean that pop is going to be doing nothing.

    I feel he's assuming defeat by going to the Spurs. He's giving up on a championship run. Also Chris is known for his mouth which can be good OR bad for the Spur's young talent. This can blow up quick.

    cp3 will probably play 40 games and end up in a coaching position soon. spurs will probably win 30 games next year. brian wright cant draft worth a squat so all those picks wont matter.

    Winning matters. CP Zero rings might become a hero if he manages to squeeze 1 in (playing with a generational freak) - but this Point God crap needs to stop.

    Spurs didn't get CP for Wemby. They got him for others guards, so Chris could show them how to pass the ball to Wemby.

    I think Cp3 will have above average numbers because he has the experience and so much attention is on Wemby, it's free game, spurs need , DeRozan or Lauri, one more decent Vet and it's game over for the league 🎉🎉🎉

    unless he was going to boston or OKC or denver to ring chase....I dont even think those teams wanted him. I respect him for prematurely deciding he wasnt ever winning a ring. Instead he chose to spend his last years teaching and coaching the FUTURE.
    Why ring chase when it isnt guaranteed? anything can happen. He couldve gone to boston to ride the bench and maybe win...but what if they dont win? hes stuck in boston veryyy far from his family. would be a very stupid decision stephen A. He would NEVER get the credit for winning a ring if he hardly contributes to a team that never needed him.
