    Thanks for the video! I just fixed my wife's, different model, different problem. Apparently a tiny wire or a hair of solder was contacting something else an was shorting out one half of the unit. Scrubbed the boards with a brush and alcohol and it seems to be working fine now. My wife is a stylist and she's probably been through 3 of these GHD irons over the years. She always threw them away and bought a new one. If I knew you were out there I would have sent them to you!

    I accidentally broke the on off switch on the circuit board while using a terminating screwdriver to take it off but the thing snapped. It seemed really hard to take off. There's 4 tabs but pressed them in and nothing happened. Is there a special trick can't see it in your video. I can't find any replacements for just the switch do I need to replace the whole circuit board?

      Contact me through ghd-repair.co.uk I can sort out a switch casing if that is what you have broken, the switch prises apart at the sides and then the cover lifts off exposing the contacts. Include a picure showing the damage.

    My wife’s turn off when the cable turns around at the base. Will this likely be new cable needed or loose connection. Do u have a video of these repairs.

    Hi there, my girlfriends beloved GHD gold straighteners wouldn't turn on one day. No lights or noise. I replaced the cable with a brand new one, still no luck I then replaced the thermal fuse with advice on various online platforms. The straighteners now turn on but constantly flash and beep and won't heat up. Any advice would be much appreciated!

    • @Trevs-Shed
      @Trevs-Shed  Рік тому +1

      Tut tut, online platforms... Go to our repair guides www.ghd-repair.co.uk/guides
      If the thermal fuse had actually failed I would say the irons overheated due to a faulty thermistor, that bleeping is probably caused by the thermistor. Check and replace R8 and R11, change the element with thermistor, all available from our website. Our use our repair service £26.94

    If I send mine to you, are you willing to try to fix it? Obviously, you can charge me what you think is fair to Fix that this is something you are willing to do. Let me know, thank you. I believe mine is having a similar problem. It turns on and off as I lift it to use it on my hair, therefore it beeps several times as the heating element is going on and off. Thanks

    Hi..
    I once used ghd in my extension which is not very long in length
    Does it cause some sort of damged?

    • @Trevs-Shed
      @Trevs-Shed  Рік тому

      It can do, any sparking from a dodgy wall socket or extension lead may cause the irons to fail. Repairable though.

      @@rimetea4569 Hi
      No genuine spares are available for any GHD. GHD do not sell parts and they do not repair anything!
      A replacement PCB will not help you as the value of the PRT in the elements varies and is set up with software.
      Every Gold/Max PCB in existance requires the modification that we carry out.
      We also wrote new firmware to allow us to match elements correctly to the PCB.
      I don't know what to say to you.
      Other than sending them to me for repair there is nothing you will be able to do.
