    the one machine close to this in 3 inch is the dynabrade 57126 with 14mm throw and up to 10,000 rpm. the LHR75 will be better balanced but the dyna is insanely ballsy. heaps of torque from this pneumatic. a great tool I have used for years. dynarade may of been the inventors of long throw, they sure did have polishing tools for it before rupes invented the bigfoot line but rupes really evolved it well. LC tools may take that much further.

    Would you recommend mixing pads with different brand polishes? Like Gyeon product with the yellow pads you Recommend. Thank you again for the videos!

    I'm a DIYer looking for a single DA that I can buy to tackle a few cars, nothing too large, and have narrowed down to the LHR75E and LHR12E. I'm leaning towards the LHR75E because of the versatility of the smaller diameter, but fully knowing it will take more patience to do the larger panels. I enjoy watching your reviews and would like your opinion on the matter. Thanks.

      You don't want to try to do large panels with the LHR75E. It's not about time and patience, it's about finish capabilities. You're better off having the big panels look really good, and missing out on some tight areas than to have the tight areas look really good, and the big panels just "OK".

    Do you use Rupes Bigfoot polishing compounds? How do those compare with the Sonax?
    I just order 3 Ruoes machines... also i like to know if i can polish car headlight with the Rupes compound but am nkt sure wich one do i use? Blue or yellow bottle? Thanks

      On occasion we do, yes, however Sonax is typically our go-to for medium to light. Chances are that you'd want to use their heavy cut (blue) for headlights.

      @@Esotericdetail i wet sand the headlight first.. the final stage is with grid 3000. So do you think BLUE is to much?
      Thanks again and i love your videos guys. They are very informative.

      @@Nisotovski I don't think blue would be too much...give it a try and let us know how it works for you. Thanks!

    I have been using a flex 3401 and am getting a lot of holograms after I cut and then polish. I have been using euro blend pads for cutting and black polishing pads (3D spider polishing pads). I used the sonax cutmax on speed 4 for cutting and a sonax perfect finish for the polish. Though I have also used various other products including fruits and meguiars. I have seen this hologram effect on a 2009 Tahoe and a 2015 ram 1500. I have cleaned, iron remover, and clayed the surface. Wish I knew what I was doing wrong??? I even prime and blow out the pads. Have also tried ONR products like their compound and polish. Watched this bit on the kit and see the foam pads. Is this a technique and inexperience problem? Not using the product long enough (usually 4-5 slow 1 inch per second passes)? What are the typical hologram culprits??

      We don't use those pads, so I can't comment directly. Your results are dependent on a variety of things...arm speed, machine speed, pressure, amount of product used, working area size, pads, machine, and backing plate. If you get just one of these wrong, or even a subset of technique, then your results can be reduced dramatically. You could also be over-working the product. With our work area, pressure, speed, amount of product, we do 2 sets left and right, and 2 sets up and down.

    Ok I'm Little confused I thought you said microfiber pads are better to use ?

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  6 років тому

      For compounding yes, for polishing like you'd do in a one-step process, no.

    Is it safe or recommended to polish a car with paint protection film? And if so would you still use a polisher such as the one featured here ?

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  6 років тому +1

      You can, but you just need to be much more careful, particularly around edges. I'd only do a light polishing like you'd do with this one-step kit.

    Too bad it’s not nearly as powerful as the LHR75. That is one bad ass polisher!

      Nothing is going to be the pneumatic one for sure. But when comparing other electric polishers, nothing else comes close.
