@@TravisVas the whole radio. we got it installed but it is "LOCKED". it has something to do with anti-theft. everywhere i look people are telling me i have to pay for a service to unlock it. not too happy.
Wrap some tape around the screwdriver shaft to prevent scratching the dash panels. BTW, I just need to remove the A/C control unit to replace the fan speed switch. Would I have to remove all of those pieces to get the A/C portion out? OH SNAP! I watched it again and noticed the 2 black nuts holding the A/C unit in. BITCH!
From what i noticed, removing all the pieces would be the easiest route to take the A/C control unit out. Good Luck with your install! Thanks for the tip!
@@TravisVas Thanks fir git'n back. Lol. It came apart easily as you know. I did it to replace the fan speed switch and the new one was as sloppy as the old one except that it wasn't melted. Melted pigtail plug at the wiring harness too. Any idea why the new knob might be sloppy without the crisp detente stops at each fan speed? This is "without" the new harness installed because I'm perplexed? Thanks again very much for the video it was very helpful.
MrJohnnyDistortion I have never experienced anything like that before. If you installed a new oem switch itself, I do not see why there would be loose stopping points. If it was melted I’d imagine some of the internal “gears”, for lack of a better term, would be melted as well, therefore causing the problem I think you are describing. If that’s the case there’s probably an overheating issue due to a possible short in the wiring?? Got me beat man, Good Luck!
Your the man bro
Nice video, wrap the screwdriver head with masking tape or electrical to avoid leaving marks on the plastic bezel. Thanks
Came here for the same problem. I've waited like 8 years to fix this problem
glad i helped!
I used my fingers to remove my trim
My jack stopped working too. I am replacing it with one from a Pontiac
Replacing the aux port? or the whole radio?

I personally have never dealt with anything like that, maybe there's a way around it. What do you mean by locked?

I installed another AC/Heater control unit and it works on fan speeds 0, 1, 2 & 4.
