    So the audio system in the cobalt needed a good change over so we put in some hertz speakers i hope this helps you replace and change the speakers in your Chevrolet cobalt 2007. Hopefully removing the door panels is useful to others as well

    Dude, I wish everybody made thorough walk-through tutorials like you just did with this one. This is one of the best I've come across. You covered down on all the fine details. Well done my friend!! You just made my life a hell of a lot easier. Thanks!!

    DO NOT install new speakers without mounting them on top of the old mounts! They will get wet in the rain because water is allowed to enter the door and drip down the inside over your speaker. I ruined my first set of speakers by not knowing this.

      I think that's just a defect with Cobalt's/G5's. I had this happen with stock speakers.

      This will happen with stock speakers too only thing you can do is try to water proof around it somehow who fucking knows

      @@99gagaman was gonna try flex seal or something but wasnt sure if that would mess up any of the contacts or anything else

      @@ChromeStryder Buy some dielectric grease. It waterproofs but also doesn’t mess with the contacts

    What size speakers did you use that would fit your old mount

  • @williamrains36

    Good vid but it doesn't cover models that have rear air bags like mine has. I did the same as you did with front speakers by putting them in original mounts

    Great tip about the mounts. Why Chevy let water drip inside the door is beyond me.

    What did you use to cut the old speaker to make it work as a mount for the new one?

    • @99gagaman
      @99gagaman 3 роки тому

      Try to use a grinder or hacksaw cut off all the spokes holding the speaker onto the miunt

      Redant23 if you press on the door panel to expose a bit more of the handle you can sometimes hook the clip with a pick or other tool
