Love your imagination and ability to produce what is in your head. You have inspired me to make a knife out of a big old rasp. Wish me luck.

Problem with making handles in a forge is you can't test how comfortable they are till it cools down😂

I'd love to buy a forged set!
In junior high school I took a metal shop where we made metal 'stuff'. I loved it, but moved on to other things (sadly) and didn't stick with the budding interest in forging and metalworks (my error). Now, decades later... I wonder what it would have been like if I had not been so superficial and pursued the life I did and instead stayed with the beauty of hand tooling metal, wood, etc.

Oh Dustin, are you alive man. Well done for the vide. I am very pleased to see the notification for this channel. Record, man, because you have a nice workshop, here are some ideas from me, for example: Modification of a purchase ax in the viking style, bras for the same or similar. Anything, at least about knives if nothing else..

very nice design, specially like the fork, might copy that from you. one question, probably to the camera or the fact your filming outside but it is hard to judge the temperature you are forging at by the color on my screen, it looks almost cold 400-500°c judging by the color, but that must be higher but the light shows it like that.

I was starting to wonder what happened to you. Been a while since you posted. Ten lashes.
Nice designs. One comment...how well is your finger going to feel against the scroll on the knife? I wrote the last sentence before the scroll broke off. I think that is going to feel much better in the hand without it. Now that you have tried them all three, what might you have done differently? Good video. Thanks.

Thank for watching and your comment. I really like the design of the spoon and the fork. I will be going back to the smithy to make a few more versions of each in slightly different sizes. I think making the spoon and knife lighter is my goal on the next set. Thanks again.

What are those 2 holes on the side of your sawyers/saw makers anvil for?

Handling. You stick a big bar of steel in there and suddenly it's much easier to move the thing around. You can also put a rope through them and suspend it from that.

Great video! I agree with everything ou discussed.
On another note, because its got me stumped.
I've collected axes for a while now. Recently, I got into all handled tools.
I just bought an 8 LB sledge hammer
With a stamp that says "Made in Germany" that circles a man with a sledge on his shoulder.
I cannot find anything on it.
Anyone have any ideas on who made it?

Hey man Looking to make some Bushcraft utensils similar to this and I got some questions for you if you don’t mind me asking 1. With these have to be maintained overtime like through oil rubs, or something of that sort 2. Is there any kind of specific material you used? 3. What kind of oil did you use when quenching and is it safe for when eating? And last Will these rust or form any kind of oxidation overtime that can cause harm to you if you were to eat with them? Love the vids 😁
