Shoutout to Devon, the camera man. Most uTube videos, even the very good ones are shot with one camera on a tripod. If you are alone in your workshop what else can you do? That’s obviously not what we are dealing with here. The shots follow the action. Clearly there is someone who knows what he (and you ) are doing. I’ve been around photography for a long time. You can sometimes get a lucky photo. Right place, right time. But, nobody gets a lucky movie. It’s clear you put in a ton of time to deliver high quality content. Right on.
I love the way you talked me through this process. As a newbie, I really need to get my head wrapped around it all so I don't miss a step. Sooo many steps.
Why on Gods holy earth did 3 people dislike this video? This is one of if not, the most comprehensive videos on knife making. Fantastic job, very well shot. Your videography is fantastic. Well done.
Some people live in a throwaway culture, and the thought of making and refurbishing tools is an anathema to them. I love this channel, and have tried many of the projects myself in an attempt to learn new skills.
I watch a lot of makers. I love The Art of Craftsmanship the best. Purely for the the style, calmness, his shop and tools, authenticity, videography and music is great.
I do not comment on videos very often, but as I have some downtime over Christmas, I have been catching up on your archives. I sure enjoy your attitude. You are not a tool brand snob. You save old things and give history new life. Please keep it up. It’s a real pleasure.
Haha I read that really fast and saw “you are not a tool….and I chuckled…..and then saw, brand snob” and not sure what a brand snob is but, also wanted to add to comments: Dustin you are not a tool!
I see a lot of demo knife making videos but you probably do the best how to videos, IMO. It’s hard to learn to do something new without working side by side with someone who can show you the way. How to videos like yours help me out a lot so thank you; sir.
Absolute perfection! Told my ol lady years ago I'd make her a knife. Guess it's high time I got back into the art. You inspired me friend. Thank you! 👍👍 Btw you got another subscriber.
I’ve seen a lot of knife making videos and this is the very best one for a hobbyist like me wanting to get into knife making without breaking the bank. Thanks for the video
Everything is so right about this knife .. the size ...the shape...the looks ....the contours.. the quality of craftsmanship that you put in it..the liners ..the walnut....I could go on and on..... I want one just like it.... And the sheath you made for it in the other video was just as awesome...
Mate….I think even Alan wood..would congratulate on that very…very …exquisite…piece of work you’ve done there, and the late Steve W Cox,he took over making the knife for ray mears, when Alan wood stopped….take a bow sir 😬👍👏👏👏👏👏
I just started watching your videos. I have not made a knife yet, but I am learning alot watching you. I retire in a few months and want to start making knives. "Never had the time before now"! GOD Bless and keep the videos coming young man.
You have a way of making knives and sheaths that makes a complete beginner say I think I might be able to do it too! Very simple processes with lots of detail and skill
Super impressed by your attention to detail and beautiful craftsmanship. I always wondered why hand made blades cost so much but they now seem underpriced! Easy watching and a real pleasure.
FANTASTIC!!!! As a disabled veteran I can't afford a beautiful knife like that on my disability pension, but someday maybe. What a beautiful job you did! What a treasure!
@@edwardfletcher7790 These knives are nice but you really don't need them, a mora and an hatchet are everything you need and you can get them for cheap.
Best video by far, watched it twice. Knife making is your strong suit. Making a knife out of billet ensures the quality of the steel which is what a good knife requires.
recently began knife works as a hobby and now realize how much more there is to learn,I am at least thankfully experienced and trained in the right skill set and do .hope to become a craftsman but you, master, are incredibly talented and knowledgeable, More so an Artisan Thank you for sharing and i do appreciate your quality, integrity, and sheer excellence,Sir
The 68 thumbs down here are 68 turds. The love you have for creating your art is awesome. The video was great. I wish I could afford that knife, the glow in the dark was genius and fit the black walnut perfect. Great work man.
I'll say Wow also. This is what a How To video should be like. Great comments with a ton of detail, yet it seemed like the time went by fast. Keep making projects and videos.
Love your channel, it's great to see a craftsman turn out the quality work you do... with tools anyone can afford. I tell everyone I know about the channel... keep it up ! 🇺🇸! 🇺🇸
The choice of music and the cinematography are just superb! It makes for a very enjoyable viewing. I’ve watched every single one of your videos, and the fact that you manage to keep the quality of the content so consistent is pretty damn amazing! Keep up the good work.
Dustin, I remember watching Ray Mears on a cable channel years ago on his survival series. They were excellent shows. I also remember researching that knife. You did an absolutely incredible job on this knife. I am always amazed at the temperament and abilities of folks like yourself. That thing sliced thru that leather like it was hot butter.
