This is beautiful. I’ve been wanting a fall-inspired project that’s NOT Halloween.
Me too! We don't do Halloween, but we have fall or Harvest Festival
Not sure if you're interested in a tip I've used for years, when using no show mesh (cutaway) I give the pieces a light iron with steam to take care of the shrinkage before I hoop it, nothing worse than finishing a project and going to iron it and it puckers, this way the shrinkage is taken care of!
thank you mine are all puckered :(
Thank you for this great tip! i will try it for sure!
I'm sure you have detailed it in another video, but your thread change technique is interesting. I always wonder how much thread I'm wasting. Your way seems like less. I love these runners! I just need someone to tell me what thread and fabric to use. People are so creative - I am not one of those people. lol Thank you for your videos!
Your description of how to download and make file folders is very helpful
The wall hanging on the wall behind you is super cute too.
Hello Charlotte
What a fantastic tutorial, Thanks. I learned so much!!
Great specific instructions! Very calming as I listened to organizing fabrics. This is an over all learning experience.
Great video - nice to go step by step so people who have not done this before have an exact idea of how to do this project.
Gorgeous! I love that table runner. Thank you, Becky, for walking us through the steps. Have a wonderful week. Diane
A beautiful table runner! Such a fun sew talk to listen to while I hand quilt. Thank you for posting this!
Thanks for the info!! Great teacher, plan on making many of the JUJU projects!
Thank you for sharing this wonderfully helpful tutorial. Just finished my Fall table runner.
Soooo helpful to see how you actually moved the files. Thank you, and it is so pretty!
HI! I’m new to this type of work on my machine, I think I’m gonna love this!!!!!!! Thank you for your great tutorials!
As always you do not leave anything to wonder about, Thank you so much,
Love this table runner. Have been wanting to do ITH projects for some time. You made it look so easy. I have to purchase this project and make it. Thank you SO much!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial-from beginning to the end you’ve provided so many helpful tips. Enjoy your table runner
Hi Kathy
I have been waiting for you to do a tutorial on this one since I bought the files! Thank you!
Hi Tina
Perfect directions! I am a beginner and this was so helpful!
I feel that some projects look nice puckered, it depends of the design.
Thank you for this tutorial I always learn something new like your tip for the self binding using the tape and folding the fabric to embroider 2 blocks on one hoop💖💕🤗
Your runner is beautiful. I seem to collect autumn colors so this was a perfect project to use all of them. Just waiting for my backing from Rebs. Thank you for all your helpful tips.
Hello Cheryl
I have been searching for months for a step by step video like this. I am new to embroidery and quilting and have been intimidate to start because all videos I have watched assumed I know more than I do. I am going to purchase this and follow your video to complete. Thank you from a beginner for doing this video. I hope you do more step by step videos. I feel confident to start using my machine now.
I'm new to you tube. I've have watched some of you instruction and have learned alot. Thank you for going step by step
Thanks for sharing Becky! I always learn so much from you. I am working on Kimberbell’s Broom Hilda Bakery but I think I need to tackle this before I start to put the blocks together. This runner looks like a fun item to learn the assembly process! Thanks again!
Thank You for taking the time to show us step by step on how to make this! It really helps when you are new to Machine Embroidery.
Hello Betty
That is a re!ally cute table runner! Might have to get that one....
How pretty is that I just purchased some of JuJu's designs and you where the first to find thank you 😊
That is absolutely stunning and I learned two new tips: the pinning lining up points using two pins and the clipping the bulky ends and ironing them leaving them down while the other sides are ironed up. So clever. I bought the snowman runner and this video is so helpful. Thank you so much.
>o⁹
Lots of good information. Thank you. I think I am ready to tackle one of these
Awesome,
I learned Tons of things. Thanks.

You can do it! It's so easy. Once you begin, you'll "get it" and the rest is cake!
Fabulous video!
Hello 👋
Perfect timing. Just started mine today. I wish there was a Scan n Cut cut file for the pumpkin and leaves.
Look in the description…there is a separate video link there that shows how to create the svgs in Embrilliance Essentials!
Awesome 👏
Very beautiful, Becky!
Thanks Sandi!
Beautiful 😍
Thank you, this was a great video!
How many layers of stabilizer do you use
Thank you fro explaining how to download and save the files.I have messed up so many of mine . Thank you
Hi Charlotte

Thank you for explaining showing me how to put my embroidery files in the correct place when you purchase downloads I always saved but never new what to do next,. Now I can set up my files like you. So much easier. Love how you explain simple task that seems impossible for me to understand the computer. Love how you explain simple ideas to help us put embroidery designs together. Is it possible to you make files on the computer with a dvds
also?
Thanks!

Oredered my fabric kit (includes backing!! from Rebsfabstash & can't wait for it to arrive so I can get going!
Edit:. My fabric is here! Slightly different than the picture, but still absolutely beautiful
I lost my message love all your directions for the Candy Corn Quilt Shop I love Kimberbell and you make it so clear. I would sure like to win the quilt kit from Lady M what a dear she is so share with us Thank you Julie from Ca
Hi Julie
Hi! I’m new to this type of work but ready to give it a try! Love your tutorials!
Awesome! Thank you!
I am fairly new to machine embroidery but I’ve watched the video and am confident I can figure it out - except I don’t have a cutting machine (scan and cut) how do I do the appliqué? Do I just embroidery the file and cut it out? Thanks for your help. Love the video!
I am loving all your videos I am new to embroidery I am so excited to get started on all these beautiful table runners. What low loft batting are you using ?
I prefer my batting to be either an 80/20 or a 100% cotton from LoftSupply.com American made in Texas and the company is owned by a wonderful couple just north of Houston.
Cute project! I have these files and can’t wait to try it. Cool tip on lining up the block seams😀Question…can I use insulbrite for the batting so it can be used as a table length hot pad for serving?
Of course! That's a great idea. Not sure how fast you'll go through needles as they punch through the metallic part of the Insulbrite though. Maybe use Pellon's WrapNZap instead?
@@PowerToolsWithThread Thanks for the reply! Yes I have wrapnzap too!😉
Love the video. What is the name of the letter and numbers little squares that you use? I need to get them!!
It's so helpfull and I'm glad your explaination is slow and easy to follow!
My question is, where do I find the file to precut the leafs?
You can create the cut file in Embrilliance Essentials. Here's how: ua-cam.com/video/6BqhvacV7n8/v-deo.html
I noticed you pulled the yellow thread through, did you tie off the new color at the top of the machine since you were using the 20 spool thread stand?
Finished the blocks for the Easter Bunny table runner by JuJu . There's direction to stitch in the ditch. What is that referencing? Its not clear to me. I watched both your autumn table runner video and the Nativity runner and no where are you doing that. Appreciate your input. thank you
Stitch in the ditch (SITD) is a term used by quilters to create a quilted effect by stitching exactly between blocks, rows, or columns. It's used to sew the backing to secure the quilt sandwich. It's unseen on the front, but you'll see stitching lines on the back. In this particular project I didn't SITD because it didn't really need it in my opinion. If the backing isn't floppy or droopy, I'll skip it.
Also, did you stitch in the ditch once you put the backing on?
I didn't on this particular runner. Once I stitched the backing on with the blanket stitch, it didn't really seem to need it. I would if it were larger.
If you don't have a scan and cut, would you still use a fusible on the appliques?
I am totally new to ITH. Have just retired from teaching and I want to learn to do more than just embroidery names. Love your video!! You said that you used scan and cut to do the leaves. I have a Cricut. Will that work? I made notes watching your video so I can get my needed supplies.
I used the SNC because I created svg files using Embrilliance software. So yes, if you can get the placement lines made into svg files, then your Cricut will cut them. Here's how I did it. My link to Embrilliance is under the video. Use coupon code THANKFUL22 for 10% off thru 12-4-22. ua-cam.com/video/4w52l-Epo8A/v-deo.html
Have you done the busy bee I t h table runner? I have purchased the design but would like to watch you do it for my information.
What did you say you had on the back of your fabric? was it a WSS? I will be doing the embroidery the regular way (trim after sewing), I don't have a cutter for the designs.
Will there be a fabric kit for the snow man table runner just released by juju?? Really interested.
I'm just getting started with my machine. Is there a way to make this table runner now? I love the pattern.
Can you use Embrilliance Essentials to just color sort the threads and cut down on thread changes using the 6x10 hoop? I know there's no room to move them further apart, but if I can do all the tack downs, than both blocks of the cross hack stitching Great!
You bet! Color sorting will work for what you need.
Power Tools with Thread
Do you have a tutorial on doing just that?
Many thanks for all the many tutorials. We have learned so some from you!
I have been watching alot of your tutes- they are great! But I have a question and I am hoping you can answer it here>> do I need a scan n cut machine to cut out the applique parts ( other than cut the appliques by hand with sharp scissors)?
You don't necessarily need a cutting machine. It's helpful, but not a requirement. You can always cut them around the tack down stitches.
Great tutorial. I couldn't find the Kimberbell embroidery tape dispenser? Thanks
That aqua colored dispenser was only available in a KB Bella Box last year. However, you can get an orange one online. I found one here. www.qualitysewing.com/kimberbell-orange-doodle-paper-tape-dispenser.html
Ohhh i just found out you did use SF 101 on backs of all fabric pieces. But why did you also use heat and bond on the appliqué fabric pieces ?
I did not put SF101 on the back of the applique fabrics. Just HNB, :-)
the pattern said to trim to 1/4 inch is this right? love your videos and your channel!
It may have but I trim these types of quilt blocks to 1/2" so I can press the seams flat a bit easier. The outside of the quilt after it's put together is trimmed to 1/4" before I do the self-binding.
Where did you get the ironing board fabric? I just need scraps for a school house wall hanging. That would be so perfect.
It's a Moda fabric called Chestnut Street from Fig Tre & Co. It's an old line. Email Christine at JellyRolls2Go.com and see if she has some. Her contact is on her website. Good luck!
When you use your Brother machine to embroider, does your bobbin plastic cover pull up as you stitch? Mine does. It happens even when I do regular stitching (thread painting). If too many layers of stitches are done in the same spot it happens. Also, if my stitching is not really that thick. Maybe more layers of some backings are needed.
I have the sew/embroidery Brother Dreamweaver machine.
No, I've never had that happen. Try some white fabric medical tape to tape the cover down. That should fix it. :)
@@PowerToolsWithThread ok. Will try that
Did you spray the backing to the
table runner? Love your youtubes
Nope, I just stitch in the ditch and that seems to work.
you have inspired me to try a table runner, but do I understand that there is no quilting on the back side ?
I would like to use my new scan n cut. Since I don't see svg files, is there a tutorial on converting to svg, I think I should use embrilliance?
Yes! Here you go. ua-cam.com/video/4w52l-Epo8A/v-deo.html
Hi Becky, I have enjoyed watching your videos, I am watching your tutorial on how to make a fall table runner. you mentioned how to save your designs, what I want to know is the instructions you gave can they be used with any software, or does it have to be the software that you are using. I have PE Design next that came with my Brother 10 needle machine, and I also have Tool Shed software by Ann The Gran, can I use either one of these programs and if not could you please give me the instructions on how to save my designs?
Generally, all software use the same File/Save As format for saving anything. I'm not a Mac user so I can't speak to that, but for Windows computers, it's usually all the same. Have fun!
Hi Becky, thanks for your speedy reply, I’m fairly new at quilting and embroidery, I have learned so much from watching you and others tutorials. I have a Mac computer and a windows 10 laptop, the Mac is somewhat of a challenge but I’m still learning. I just want to let you know how much I enjoy watching your videos, I hope I can continually email you with questions about quilting, I know you are very busy, but I appreciate your reply whenever you can, thanks, Gloria
Question if I made this one and I want to sale it for how much should it go thanks I love all ur videos
That's a tough one. I usually will look at total stitch counts for a project, figure out how long that it takes to make (my machine will tell you how many minutes for the stitch out) and then use that time multiplied by 2 because if the machine says it takes 15 minutes to stitch then it will take 30 to complete (prep, batting trimming, thread breaks, etc.). I have to determine what I deserve for my work as an hourly wage. This took a total of about 6 hours to make and I'd want at least $10 an hour so at least $60 and that's just my time. That doesn't take into account my supplies: fabric, stabilizer, SF101, thread, machine, etc. To me, making these to sell is not worth the effort for the amount of money people are willing to pay. Instead, they are a labor of love. I'd put a $75 price tag on it but it would never sell for that.
Question: for the fabric that has no appliqué, did you apply SF 101 to the back?
No, I wasn't clear in the video. I should have said all the background fabrics have SF101 on them. The applique fabrics were only backed with HNB. Sorry for the confusion.
I am in the final piecing stage of this project. I followed the instructions and pieced the center first. Then pieced the side borders. The crosshatching matched up on all except the Blessed borders. It does not look like it matched on the instructions photo either. I e-mailed Designs By Juju a few minutes ago to make sure I didn’t make a mistake somewhere. Did yours match up?
I looked at mine and no, the crosshatching doesn't meet on the end pieces. Hardly noticeable.
Any tips on calculating how much fabric and batting is needed? I bought the snowman runner but it doesn’t give total yardage needed.
That's the disconnect between embroidery and quilting. Hopefully soon they will figure all that out in the directions. I think that table runner would take one yd of background fabric and then scraps for all the applique. The smaller the hoop size the more leftover background fabric you will have.
@@PowerToolsWithThread thanks. I am making the 5x7 and went with a yard for the backing and 1/4 for everything else. I don’t have a lot of scraps. Still building up.
What kind of tape do you use to hold the fabric down?
How many layers of stabilizer do you use?
Ok, Again, great info. I'm an experienced (50 plus? years) sewist on my SEWING machine (almost ALL garment sewing) but new to machine embroidery (and almost nil quilting experience as well). So I've been reading up and watching UA-cam videos - someone recommended yours, and I'm finding them helpful, but I'm still uncertain about stabilizers. You linked to Brothread No Show mesh for this project, AND you recommended to back the backing fabrics with SF101 (I'm familiar with this). In one part of the video you said you forgot to back one of the fabrics, but I'm not sure now if it was the backing or the applique, but I'm assuming it was the backing fabric, since it appears you cut all your applique with your Scan & Cut, so I'm assuming you ALSO backed them with a fusible web of some sort (I'm familiar with these) I checked out reviews of the Brothread and although it had mostly positve reviews, more than one person said it melted when they ironed it. And just to be sure, I'm assuming you do NOT tear or cut this stablizer away? Confused
It's been a minute since that video so now I don't remember either. lol I use SF101 on background fabric and a substrate like HeatNBond Lite on the back of applique fabrics. Anytime you have a heavy satin fill on quilting cottons, the background fabric needs SF101 to prevent puckering from that tug of the tight zigzag stitching. Enjoy! :)
@@PowerToolsWithThread Thanks sew much for replying! I kind of figured you're one busy lady, and I probably wouldn't recieve a reply. So I've got it on the background fabrics. But what about the Brothread No Show mesh. You iron it with no problems? I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row with ordering supplies. Thanks again. I'm considering making this same table runner. That's probably a mistake. 🙄
What appliqué cutter do you recommend?
How did you make your lettering labels (A, B, C,…..) that you used to label your fabrics, they’re so cute!!!
That's an embroidery pattern from Embroidery Garden.
What is it called please
I searched online for the Isacord thread color name and #, and could not find most of them associated with this table runner. Is there a list with thread numbers.
Do you have a tutorial on the fusible iron on? Was a bit confusing here..
Just iron SF101 on the back of all your fabrics except the applique fabric for the leaves and pumpkins. You can get it at Walmart. Follow mfg directions.
Can you please link where I can get an extra large cutting mat like your white one you have under your green mat?
Try megamats.com
Becky I've yet to try binding with the backing, do you not find it a little thin since there's no batting inside as on a regular quilt?
I pull the binding up over onto the top edge of the quilt.
Yes I understand how you are doing it, but your seams you are covering with the binding dont have any batting in them as with a traditional quilt, the binding is just covering fabric in quilt as you go, just wondered how they hold up being empty. I finished the Christmas table runner, but did backing and binding the usual way as on a quilt.
