I still have my A1200 that I got as a B-day gift shortly after they came out in the 90s. It sat in a storage compartment in California constantly being heat cycled everyday during the summer for 8 years between 2011 and 2019. I took it out and it booted right up. Even the hard drive that I adapted still worked. I can still remember cutting, stripping, soldering, and taping 80 wires to adapt a 44pin IDE cable to a 40 pin cable because adapters were so hard to find or I was just too impatient or cheap. My father bought me an mtec accelerator a few years after I got it back in the 90s. I hooked zip and jaz drives up to the SCSI adapter for the mtec. I was able to get it on the internet but only by using SLIP with a modem. I am still thinking about trying to get it to work with ethernet via the PCMCIA slot.
if it worked that is great, but remember without power for so long , then tossed to life again can cause the caps to pop on the bottoms, keep an eye on them and smell them for a fishy type smell and if so get them out of there.
Enjoying this video, only thing that makes me unconfort is how you cut boxes and plastic. I am scared you will cut your self hehehe. Looking forward for the whole serie so i can post it on my Dutch website.
This should be a nice little machine when you are finished. Not a bad little system. I only have 40 Mbs DSL at my home... With 2 Mbs uploads. It is a nightmare when it comes time to upload my 2 GB+ videos every week!
that i own? probably the Amax2 3000 with dual HD floppies. its only a 030/25 but with 24m ram and all the repairs it is my favorite. the case design is timeless, would like to own, a 3000T or 4000T Quickpak 060 would rock
Nice! Can't wait to you get the rest of the parts to finish the assembly.
Man fun project. I'm so tempted to build rather than buy when I get an A1200. Undecided. Will watch your project with interest.

Why did you prefer an NTSC A1200? I got a PAL 1200 since NTSC was so hard to find.
i live in the US ,all of my other Amigas are NTSC, i know modern tv/s and conversions can do either or now days, but that is what i wanted.
what is your favorite Commodore Amiga you own, or would like to own?
