    TIP:
Spread a regular bond paper with oil for a little transparency. You can also do it when tracing drawings.

\o/ Absolutely love this model and cant wait to fold either from glassine or tracing paper. Have done over 11 different varieties this year to decorate packages or to slip into cards-everyone got Dennis Walker's this year out of tracing paper to hang in window. Got hooked on Riccardo Foschi"s different models, as well as Sara Adams several stars. Am flying out to Minn in the morning to be with family, and Ive precut everyone an octogan to teach them the Star Compass Rose! This model made me gasp-it's stunning- and can't wait to fold it. Thank you so much Mr Nakashima, and would be an honor to be entered into the give away.

Before the collapse, you can add some pre-creases to make this step much easier.

reach all the way inside the folds of that arm with your thumb, and push from the inside. that and a bit of precreasing, and it should work out fine. you may need to figure out a way to do it that's not how he does it in the video. keep trying, good luck

\o/ I followed all your videos since I was 9 years old... You're the only UA-cam channel who made the cleanest origami tutorial.. Now I still do origami but not as many I did when I was little.. this year i gave so many origami to all my friends... They loved it.. When I was in primary school.. My math teacher ask me to help her with her assignment.. She wanted me to make origami step by step... She took a picture using her camera... My friend once said that origami only for noob.. I just ignored him... Origami taught me to be patient.. I just want to thank you for all the origami tutorial that you did for the past few years and happy new year 🎇🎆

Interested in the type of paper you used. I tend to use tracing paper on most of my snowflakes which gives a nice effect when held up to the light, and I put them in cards I send. But this appears more of a glassine texture, which I've never worked with. What would you suggest for such a beautiful model?

    • @jonakashima
