Another day of fun on an island hunting treasures. Looks like you did find a few relics today. Now as for the coins, there in the cracks of the rocks. That's where you will find them hiding from ya. So when you get the chance before you return home give the cracks I the rocks one more shot. I really believe you will find some awesome coins. Another great video with the chigg an his buddies on an island searching for relics from the past. Enjoyed chigg. An as always safe an happy hunting for those gold coins an all those civil war relics. 😁👍👍
The hinge that capt'n Billy had is called a pintle hinge. As a blacksmith, I've got to say that they're easy to forge and are generally used on out side doors/gates. They don't seal a door against drafts well enough for using on the front door, but for an outbuilding, you betcha.
The jar bottom reads Smalley, Kivlan and Onthank Boston, Mass. It was the type of preserves jar with the wire closure mechanism and glass lid. Turn of the century - 1920s
If you weren't rushed to get as much done in the time Captain Billy allows you, hope you would find more stuff. It's a little hard trying to picture what it looked like back in the early early time. But it's fun seeing the different landscape and water life where you are at. Sooo much history stay safe. Thanks for sharing
Tell me I'm not the only one who saw the silhouette of someone walking in the background woods just to the right of Billy's right shoulder at 4:35? Spooky!
What a wild place to settle, let alone farm. 21:44 Smalley, Kivllan & Onthank 1907-21.The blue pearlware and the little slick bottle are earlier (1870s-80s). . HH
There is a listing on Etsy for a similar bottle, 1920's Smalley Kivlan & Onthank Boston, Mass, it looks to be a canning jar, I wonder how long people were living there, pretty neat.
That ship's spike, from a ship or not, was clinched/clenched. The end gets smacked over so it forms sort of a staple. Sometimes a washer is used underneath to further increase the surface area.
Maine is sure an interesting place to see Chigg, and the history as told by Captain Billy superb. I can't imagine living in such a cold, remote place. I'll bet it was tough living.Just goes to show we come from hardy stock tho. I had ancestors from Maine, but they had fiddle feet and just kept moving west. I'm loving these adventures! Have a great day!
My family has been in Maine for that last 4 generations, good Ulster-Scot ancestry, with German and Russian for seasoning. If your house was well built with wood heat, it wasn't bad at all. And the winters are getting milder. We're not getting the 20 degrees below zero weather we used to nor as much snow.
I often forget that in that era people didn’t have a trash service. I couldn’t imagine just dumping the bin over a cliff. Then again they didn’t have as much trash as we do today.
War of 1812 Americans were supposed to go through the woods of Maine to Canada. It did not work out very well because there were few roads. There could be military relics but chances are they have sunk into the bogs.
Really liked the video as a former camp power in Maine from the Netherlands. Maybe collect the plastic carnage and take ik with you to honor your search grounds?
I could tell it was exaggerated because he uses multiple Maine accents. He uses a lot of mid-Maine for a Downeaster. Yes, it's true that some Mainers exaggerate it for humor (Tim Sample).
Let Toren(?) know I love his name. My son’s name is Tylon. I love the names that are a little different. Chigg!! Thanks for taking me on the travels with you.
When is the AUGUA chigger going to get back down to Maryland, Virginia in the river, stream and creek and find real Civil War artifacts? I miss the water videos that’s what he is famous for ! Enough of finding wore out flat buttons in NE. Just my opinion!
8:27 Hmmm.... mysterious hole in the ground, an island in the North Atlantic, indicators that something of value may be at the bottom, no bottom to be found! Careful Chigg, you'll end up with a series on the History channel.
Old glass turns purple/pink because it contains manganese dioxide which is used to make glass clear in production but sun light turns it pink/purple if it's been exposed for a long time
I really liked the video, such a cool place to explore. But it really made me sad to see all that plastic washed up on the beach. I mean you thought it was a dump. How hard is it to recycle your plastic or at least make sure it winds up in a landfill.
I hope you enjoy this little adventure.

I liked the small bottle and the grind stone. I could spend a whole summer looking around that island. Great video buddy
A drone would have been helpful to locate homesite areas in a setting like this. But glad you found one. Best of luck guys!
Great vid again Chigg, this Maine trip has been fun to watch:) The trash...WTF?
Tell me I'm not the only one who saw the silhouette of someone walking in the background woods just to the right of Billy's right shoulder at 4:35? Spooky!

Wonder how many items chig has marked as bridle rossette's that are clock pendulum"s.
Aww, that grinding stone!!!
Good finds cool places that boat
I literally found an exact copy of that smalley Boston mass jar bottom in my backyard the other day. Wish I could take a pic but I tossed it
That ship's spike, from a ship or not, was clinched/clenched. The end gets smacked over so it forms sort of a staple. Sometimes a washer is used underneath to further increase the surface area.
This is where I grew up.

looks like a glorious christmas tree farm!!
This spot reminds me of my dad's camp..I'm gna hit it hard this year..always someone with me and they won't give m enough time to dig
Love to watch your videos chigg you find the most interesting things!!

That round disk with lead on it seems to be the bottom of a candle stick holder.Thank You Jake Bissel.
thanks
I would do anything to spend a day diggin with chigg. This is absolutely amazing to me. I would say leave me. I’m sleeping on the rocks.
I often forget that in that era people didn’t have a trash service. I couldn’t imagine just dumping the bin over a cliff. Then again they didn’t have as much trash as we do today.
great hunt!!!! i was happy with the revolver i found today!
Nice video thanks
That place is loaded with cool old relics.
Wouldn't be surprised to find very old, small grave markers in the woods surrounding the cemetery.
Great video
Round pin with a pointed spike at the end is half a hinge. I have a few new ones.
So,so glad to be able to comment once again. It made me feel disconnected
As a Southerner I like to,hear Billy talk.
I’m addicted to your shovel skills.
Im ready for some caving vids
Hi Chigg, thanks for your great videos....When you coming back to find Gold in Australia?.....We miss you mate!!!!!!!!
Hey chigg man! 😄👍
That rosette may be a pendulum bob. Check it for a slot
General chigg, sir. Proud to view your adventures and I'm looking into getting a detector. You trust garrett
at time stamp 1350 the metal rod with blade on it looks like cut off tool for blacksmithing ?
War of 1812 Americans were supposed to go through the woods of Maine to Canada. It did not work out very well because there were few roads. There could be military relics but chances are they have sunk into the bogs.
o what fun we have.
Those weedy rocks are so dangerous!
Really liked the video as a former camp power in Maine from the Netherlands. Maybe collect the plastic carnage and take ik with you to honor your search grounds?
I see Cptn. Billy has an on/off switch for his accent
James Lane common trait down there.
Most mainers do to one extent or another, whether they're natives or not. The deep accent is often reserved for jokes and chicanery.
the chigg is wearing off on billy perhaps and vise versa?
I can neither confirm or deny that. I sometimes may affect one when traveling out of state.
I could tell it was exaggerated because he uses multiple Maine accents.
He uses a lot of mid-Maine for a Downeaster.
Yes, it's true that some Mainers exaggerate it for humor (Tim Sample).
Bottle and Brass spikes are the finds of the day.
Yay new camera 😁
wow very cool video
Archeologists are sooooo careful with those things and this guy is just "fuck it digging with my shovel digging with my shovel"
Not just for protection. High sites around water gave them the ability to see allies/enemies approaching on boats.
Let Toren(?) know I love his name. My son’s name is Tylon. I love the names that are a little different. Chigg!! Thanks for taking me on the travels with you.
I haven't heard you say "HOLD YOUR BREATH" in a while!!
He dont need to say it! He says it to much!🤣🤣
When is the AUGUA chigger going to get back down to Maryland, Virginia in the river, stream and creek and find real Civil War artifacts? I miss the water videos that’s what he is famous for ! Enough of finding wore out flat buttons in NE.
Just my opinion!
Lookie! Is it human ?
Cool video👍
Go in land from Maine go to the Benedict Arnold Trail on the Dead River you'll find arrowheads cannon cannon balls knives
Manganese is in the bottles that turn amethyst.
8:27 Hmmm.... mysterious hole in the ground, an island in the North Atlantic, indicators that something of value may be at the bottom, no bottom to be found! Careful Chigg, you'll end up with a series on the History channel.
I counted down the minutes for this one! Thank you AND Cpt. Billy!!!
Are you telling me there is some sorta ban on towely
Looked like Beals bridge at the end there
Gee that one pile of bones with the skull you picked up looked like doooooog skull. : 0
Old glass turns purple/pink because it contains manganese dioxide which is used to make glass clear in production but sun light turns it pink/purple if it's been exposed for a long time
Who sings the closing credits song? Is that choo Chigg? Huh? Isss ittt??🤔! 😁
Kel Cal read the last credit
Wouldn't be something if that grinding wheel you found was used to shape those brass spikes.
Beautiful water though
Captain Billy needs a UA-cam channel.
Agreed!!!
I would definitely watch it!
16:49 Poor centipede

I really liked the video, such a cool place to explore. But it really made me sad to see all that plastic washed up on the beach. I mean you thought it was a dump. How hard is it to recycle your plastic or at least make sure it winds up in a landfill.
Boy, I believe I’d have me a fishing pole
Chimney pile... In Norway that would have been a viking burial mound. :p
You guys just pulled up somebodys property stakes !! Looks like good planting dirt up there.
