  • Metal detecting for colonial relics and coins at a very old Maine cellar hole is on tap for today. Billy and I find some really cool artifacts at this cellar hole that he had researched and was lost to history somewhere on this rugged coastline. Thor joins us later in the hunt after doing some diving on this cold spring day.

    One thing I love chig for is no click bait titles "look what I found in this hole" - a light bulb fixing is what they found but you have to watch the video to find out, which is what every other single metal detecting channel I seen do.

    Milliken is a good name. What a coincidence. Milliken Floor Company is where we got our flooring for our new house. The stuff is expensive but wears like iron, so was well worth it. Thanks for giving us the grand ramble and dig Chigg. Billy and co are fine fella's but they sure are showing you some rugged country. That cliff edge looked like certain death if you fell. That cellar hole was so huge it makes me wonder what the house looked like?! Somebody had money back in the day to be building something like that in such a location, at such a time. Maybe they buried their gold and they were indeed pirates?! I hope you find some good stuff an don't pull another Beauner! What a hilarious nickname. Leave it to your chums to come up with that. Have a good one!

Still think you guys need to go back to the cracks in the rocks an dig out all the silver an copper coins you found earlier in the week. You just might find that pirates treasure. Great video guys, love watching you guys having fun on those new hunts. Nothing better then being out on a new adventure were there's new territory to explore. You just never know whats waiting for you to find under mother Earth's soil blanket she's been guarding for many years. Happy hunting guys.👍👍😁

    Where did the house go? Does it just dissolve leaving only the stone cellar? Did it burn down? I know you want to keep the location a secret but some history of what kind of people lived there would make it more real to me.

    • @KayInMaine
      @KayInMaine 4 роки тому +1

      I've asked the same question on other metal detecting channels and they never say. The building either burned or they used the wood to burn through a winter if they built somewhere else. That's my guess.

    If i recall.correctly, the pink in a bottle means it has been exposed to.vapourised gold during the manufacturing process...i saw something similar (possibly on one of.Dan Hurd's vids) watching a guy blow glass and colourise it pink with vapourised gold...though i could be wrong.

      Manganese. Manganese was used in glass mfg for a while near the turn of the 20th C and exposure to UV light--sunlight--causes the glass to turn pinkish at first. It becomes much more amethyst colored with time and higher manganese content.

    Just wanting to start metal detecting. And was wondering if you could recommend a good detector that covers all aspects of detecting, from relic's, coins to hold nuggets. If there is a detector like this. Would I need to buy a different coil for the nuggets? I've looked at the Garrett at pro but it seems to have several drawbacks. At least as opposed to equinox 08. But then I really don't know what to look for. Most of the videos I've seen are confusing to me.
