- Louisiana has had a long history of hurricanes devastating the state, and 2020 was a harsh reminder of this state of affairs. As we go through the 2021 Hurricane Season, we'll complete a six-part series recounting the more than five dozen hurricanes to have made landfall on Louisiana's coast in recorded history. This is the final episode in the series and covers the hurricanes striking the state from the start of 2006 to the 2020 Hurricane Season, including the devastating Hurricane Laura.

Awesome series 👏 👌 👍
Glad you think so!
Just found your video series, I was here in southwest Louisiana, near Lake Charles, when Laura and Delta hit.
Laura was a monster. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life. My home is old and well built, but we could feel the house shake and feel the winds lift up on the carport that was connected to the house. Because it was connected we also felt the roof being pulled up and down. Our shop was ripped apart sending large wooden beams hurling around and at our house.
Delta wasn’t as scary but was still bad especially because it brought rain and lots of it.
I just finished your hurricane series, very well done. It is impressive how much havoc nature can cause.
*Who else came for just Laura?*
I almost did a video on Laura last Fall but didn't want to be a disaster porn video, so this video gave me the excuse to see how things had improved since then when I recorded it in May. I left stunned at how bad it still was in Lake Charles, much less down in Cameron.
I came for hurricane Ida prayers for everyone 💕 thanks for posting these videos
@@marymarmande8446 My area only had about 30-40 mph winds and we were 100-200 miles away, so Ida had widespread effect. I am also praying for people affected by Ida.
I live in Lake Charles and Laura hit our city pretty bad. Luckily my house was spared and we only had very minor damage.
@@cecsouth543 my area had Laura as a category 3. I was in it so bad, I swear I saw the eye. I had a huge pine tree fall on my shed and a tree in my front yard fall on my dads truck. I still haven’t repaired. That’s shows the effect of hurricanes.
