Thanks for the tip on the road from El Chalten to Lago del Desierto! I plan to ride from Santiago to Ushuaia this December, stopping at El Chalten for a day of trekking up to Fitzroy. I will surely try to ride this road before heading south to Ushuaia. Thanks for your sharing your trip on UA-cam! Been enjoying your videos.
Love it, great video. Rose you have the best voice and are beautiful. Chad is sort of handsome too. Just wish you music choices blended more eloquently with the environment.
Technical question (sorry if I quickly disrupt the adventure vibes). MOTORCYCLE: I see you are driving a relatively older AT. Has there ever been a moment, on the road, in which you thought "I wish I had newer bike with more mapping options, or more hp, or with DCT, or..." well, you got the idea :) Loving every bit of it!!!
It's a 2017, so the 2nd year of the re-release. I prefer the KISS approach when it comes to traveling in remote regions where parts or qualified mechanics may be difficult, if not impossible, to find. The 1 thing that would have been nice is a proper TFT display. Assuming it would have survived...
@@TwoWheelsThreeSheets I put my harley davidson on sale and going for the AT. And you guys made me reconsider my decision to skip the 2016-2017 models. At the end of the day, any of them is more capable than I am. Better spending money on fuel than on specs.
@LucaNestola_FILM very cool!! The consensus seems to be that the US-distributed 2017 manual transmission is the best of the recent breed. I don't know much about the 24 & 25 models, though... 🤔
@@TwoWheelsThreeSheets that's nice to hear, also for my pockets. Even tho I must admit the DCT thing is tempting. But I share your concerns about the added risks in remote areas. Plus... That tricolor is to date still one of my favourites! At the end of the day, if you did what you did with that bike, that's empirical demonstration that it's more than enough for me
I was there 1 year ago, and I am excited to see those images of the imposing Fitz Roy again. It's a shame they didn't do the trekking, they are really incredible. But I still congratulate you for the good vibes you have, and for showing my beautiful country, Argentina.
WOW! always thought the Africa Twin was striking BUT, that back drop blew it away. Thanks, ride safe both. Chad, you need to get up to speed with the pool ;-)
Still think the tri-color 2017 Africa twin is one of the best looking bikes out there 👍 As for the pool, well you'll have to talk to Rose about that... 😁
Rose here.... I figured I'd out myself. Chad took some creative license with that pool sequence. I lost about 3 out of every 5. . . But the Argentinian Pool Shart lives to play another day. 🇦🇷
@@TwoWheelsThreeSheets Rose, Very honest all round! When we lived in the UK my best bud ever used to whup me at pool and he was from LA; maybe the LA folks get too much bar/pool practice ;-) Atb.
@@potskifilms Haaaaa!! I think you're onto something. Funny enough, I was taught to play in Costa Rica by Chad (from L.A.) and our friend Theo (from the UK). 😂 well, my goal on this year & a half +/- moto trip of ours is to play in every new spot possible. So far: Chile 🇨🇱 & Argentina 🇦🇷....
Great video and commentary. Been to El Chalten but sadly I didn't know about that fabulous road you took. Gas station empty when I was there. 😰 Keep up the great work.
A lot of people don't know about the road. Later that night we were speaking with a fairly prolific tour guide from Canada that was there with a group. After countless trips to the area, he himself had never been down the road!!
Great videography and narration as always. A suggestion: Would you be able to, every now & then, add a map with a little moving red line showing where you’re riding ? I follow your route diligently, but I have to constantly look your latest location up on Google maps. I know, I know…….as if you guys don’t already spend enough time editing these movies. Maybe my wife is right, I’m just an ungrateful brat…..
Thsnk you as always!! Actually, we were using animated maps for a few videos, but as we started riding more and more on private Estancia land, we stopped. A lot of where we ride is by permission. Once we're out of Patagonia, we may start utilizing the maps again.
You guys are so amazing! I know it was an ass kicker to ride in that wind. What beautiful scenery. Glad that Chad was able to get the helmetless ride by in.😁 The Argentinian pool SHART! LOL! That is funny right there! You guys crack me up! Can't wait for the next one!
Awesome videos! Are you planning to go all the way up Road 40? An incredible scenic route that takes you to different environments and views.. Maybe even going all the way up to Bolivia (death road) and Peru (Huayhuash Mountain range) is worth it if you have the time and opportunity :) Keep the good work!
Thank you!!! Chad has already ridden the length from Deadhorse here to Patagonia via to the West Coast, so we plan on exploring a bit more of the East Coast heading north, as well as revisiting a few of his favorite spots in Peru!!
Why did you not include the whole bike in the frame against that picturesque background while taking the photo??? Man!!! That location deserves unlimited photos
Agreed!! I have a dozen different photos of that same shot, but the UA-cam thumbnails crop the images, so a lot of times you end up losing a bit of the frame process.
Induction... I own two of them and love them. That said, it would not be a typical jacket choice for this part of the world. The induction is mesh, and intended for hot climates, but I run hot, so...
Thanks to crooked partners, and Covid, the bar is dead. We just sold our property, and are about to continue our journey north now that our affairs are finally settled...
@Two Wheels Three Sheets come on home and be safe. Would love to bump into you all out on the road. GOD BLESS. ( FYI if Prudhoe Bay doesn't pan out, I'm selling out my trucking and going to start a you tube channel that's been in the works in the back of my mind for about 5 yrs) shit or get off the pot I guess...lol

No, Chalten is in Argentina. The city itself is not very high. Only around 400m above sea level...

Some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve seen on your channel. Spectacular.
Thank you, it's an amazing area that so few fully explore...
That wind reminds me of the cross winds in Idaho, however much stronger.
Been all over the world and I don't think I've ever experienced wind like Patagonia... it's relentless!
