I own a 2012 370z sport - I've had it for several years now. I honestly can't believe there aren't more on the road. I am VERY picky with cars and I am fortunate to have the means to buy something way more expensive - but why? This car is gorgeous, the capabilities exceed anything you could every hope for on the street, the naturally aspirated engine surges rapidly - the gearing is quick so the car feels super racy. Also.... it feels and looks more expensive than it is. For $30k - your choices are basically a low end mustang/camaro or an overly boosted shit box. This - to me - is a no-brainer. And.... is the only thing even close to a Porsche Cayman in form and function. Lastly, this car is special. It has a lineage and heritage that make it part of automotive history. I've met a lot of great car people over the years while pumping gas or getting an oild change because of it... just makes people happy and wanting to talk cars.
What you are feeling in the seat when you push on the headrest is the mechanism that pushes the headrest forward when someone hits you from behind. It helps prevent neck injury.
I got a 2019 all black 370Z sport coupe 6M for about $33K that I daily drive in the SF bay area and I love it. The 19" forged aluminum Rays wheels and the sport Akebono brake package improve braking and handling significantly. I upgraded the sway bars with a set of Hotchkis sways and replaced the stock rubber brake lines with StopTech stainless steel braided brake lines and the handling and braking are even further improved. Nissan upgraded the clutch starting in 2018 with a Gredy clutch that is a vast improvement over the older clutch design. The pedal feel is smooth and linear over the whole range of movement.
I'm not into Japanese sports cars, but I've always liked the 350/370Z's. Real nice exhaust sound too. I never realized they were that cheap in price. This thing is a screaming bargain!
Kind reminder to you all; The 0-100km/h times reported on my channel are what I measure on the day of the video shoot. That might be rain or shine, or even snow. The cars are on winter rubber November to April and the streets are not drag strips. I am an average driver and I use budget performance loggers. The TIMES I POST ARE NOT THE BEST POSSIBLE, they are a real life representation of what a car can do on a regular day, with a regular driver. THAT IS IT! Thanks for watching.
I got one the same color with sport package.. I want those black wheels though. I don’t know why people complain about blind sports! It isn’t too bad! Only blind spots for me is the side mirrors.
In fairness the touring and touring sport gets 2 out of 3 as they are the heated seats :) Nismo should come with them at that price. Yes it is supposed to be a track car but honestly who is kidding who. Most buy it for the looks not the track.
Have you driven one? Oh buddy you need to schedule a test drive. They're super solid and you can just feel the power in store. The hydraulic steering feels amazing, get you one man you can't go wrong.
+NobodyFits The advantage of taking another version is only for the LSD differential that the BASE don't have. otherwise the base model is lighter than the other one and with very few mods you can beat a nismo on the 1/4 miles.
I own a 2011 Grand Touring with sport pack. It has 19 inch wheels with 275's in the rear. There are several sites that post 5.4 second times with the automatic and manual transmissions. For 43,000 you can get everything except the sat nav and backup camera.
+Barcelona Chromebook real owners will have more useful tips regarding buying used. I suggest you visit Nissan forums and ask your questions. Good luck!
You can get a 350z, like the one I have (2006) for around 14k or a lot less depending on the year. With 300hp, heated seats, electric seats, and a few other things this doesn't have. And the same amount of torque, and IMO looks MUCH better than this. I always like the 350 better. Turns more heads too. :) I've had it to about 120mph easily, and that was MORE than enough for me. ha
funny how they made a base model and knocked a bunch of parts off. That's all i've wanted all these years. A real sports car has a 6 speed manual, a basic stereo, and no special features.
If you are talking about the 0-100 time, Nissan Canada does not release that info. The time stated and shown was the time measured, which for sure is not the absolute best. Thanks for watching!
I love the 2016 Z and would love to buy one (1974 260z owner) but I can't justify it.. even with the price reduction it's still a terrible buy. Compared to competitors it has far less standard options, worse fuel economy while having similar performance. For something as dated and basic as this car it should be $25,000 not $30,000. Make it more affordable to the masses.
+Craig Tschirhart You can get a base 370z for 27-28k brand new at most dealers. Tell me what else on the market can touch this for that price. 0-60 in 5 seconds or less, 1/4 mile in the mid to low 13's, Nissan mechanical reliability (which is excellent), great handling, and better-looking that 95% of what's on the road.
My mustang V6, the new Camaro V6, have the same performance on regular gas and better fuel economy. Sure they have 4 seats but if you want 0-60 in 5.5 and 13s quarters those are two very good options which are significantly more equipped for the same price. Also, the new mustang and Camaro made significant improvements on handling.. how it stacks up I'm not sure but I'd love to see a video comparing them. Reliability i agree nissan will win that.. but for 27-28 nissan doesn't stand alone in the sub 30K category...
Craig Tschirhart 370z is capable of 0-60 in less than 5 seconds, as well as a 1/4 mile time in the 13.2-13.3 range, stock. That's noticeably quicker than any non-V8 Mustang or Camaro. That, combined with the reliability, makes it a better buy IMO, if you don't need back seats. The features are just more crap to break. I have a newish Ford with all the toys. When these things break, they're not cheap to fix.
My bone stock 2011 Mustang V6 can run 0-60 in 5.5s and quarter mile in 13.8. If I baby it 30mpg hwy on regular gas. Knock on wood only my driver heated seat has broken. The new camaro and mustangs are roughly 5.2s. 5s is quicker yes but not that much and it only really noticable if you're racing. Consider these cars they are larger, have back seats, have more options, require regular fuel all while getting better gas mileage than a 370z. I agree with you if you don't want a back seat then great.. but people (although I'm not really one of them) want cars full of tech and gadgets and those cars offer it for less money. Believe me I love the Z and I miss my old 260z, but there's a lot of competition out there and I simply don't feel the new Z is worth its sticker price even after it was reduce 7K here in Canada. I wish sports cars were still available without power options or even a radio. I'd love a stripped out Z and enjoy listening to the exhaust all day!
It’s the same body style so yes most likely. I have a 2017 and blind spots really are not an issue when driving. Just get a custom to setting your side view mirror more outwards...like you really shouldn’t see your car in the side-mirror in a relaxed seating position. If you do need to see your car then just move your head forward.
I hate how everyone Cries about no LSD in base models, it really isn't that essential of a thing. If you're going to be drifting then yeah, it's a nice thing to have. I drive a base 350z and that thing still gets tail happy none the less
@Alex Silva Well before i bought mine i didn't read up enough about what came with the base, I ended up buying a used base model and then found out about it being a Open Diff and it annoyed me because when you buy a sports car like a 370z you just assume ' Hey that obviously comes with a LSD, Right.... '. It sucks but honestly it's better than buying a Nismo with one of the worst LSD's on the planet for 12,000$ more than the base model. My next project is to get a LSD and a beefy clutch because both of these things are issues for 370z owners that plan on tracking even in the slightest bit. Oh And oil coolers........
The 370z is a terrible buy....Price per performance is a joke....Compare a Nismo 370z vs a Similarly priced Camaro or Mustang.....Thank you for giving an actual honest review of this car...I hate seeing all the crappy reviews of this car....Sure we all love Z's....All the way from the 300ZX to older Z's....But I hate when people say this car is so amazing and all the other BS.
+samhardy2008 Umm, for $30,000 CND it is a pretty good car and a very good performance per dollar. What are you going to get for $30,000? A BRZ? A VW GTI?.... yeah, you can't get much for this price. Throw a turbo charger in there and this thing will probably smoke a lot of cars easily. Engine bay looks like total tits. Two air intake? Damn, looks like an Aston Martin, if you ask me.
+supercooled or could spend a few grand more and be into a camaro, more HP same weight and a better interior.... Why would you throw out that it's a good buy at $30k then mention a turbo? Kind of contradictory of your first statement.... if that's the case why not spend an extra 10k and buy and STI? Or a camaro with the higher end package? or even a mustang with the 5.0.... The 370 nismo is a shitty buy also.... over 40k car and interior is still very underwhelming just like the performance, spend 40k and get a much better car with plenty of more options and you can actually customize the car instead of little bullshit options like Nissan gives you.... I might seem like a Nissan hater but that's not true, I love the 240sx, 300zx both great cars.... I just hate how Nissan refuses to address the poor performance these cars still have and won't do something that makes sense...The car needs to be more competitive for its price range..... I love the exterior of the 370 because its a sexy looking car, the curves make it look so cool but that's about it.
+George McKean Almost every vehicle they've made since the 80's has been head and shoulders above 95% of what's built in the US. I've owned a 300zx and a pair of 350z's, and they were all fantastic cars. I beat both 350's senseless, and nothing ever broke. I'm speaking literally. Nothing went wrong, ever. You also have to consider that this is a sub-30k car that does 0-60 in 5 seconds, runs the 1/4 mile in the mid to low 13's, and tops out at well over 150 mph. It's a hell of a deal for a new sports car.
the seat push-back is a safety feature that helps reduce neck injury and whiplash.
Best car on the market at that price...no doubt about that

blind spots not an issue for me i been daily driving my 370z for about 6 years
+Jose Semino glad to know but keep in mind most people don't know how to check correctly.
let alone drive correctly.

I agree. I don’t get it. I don’t have any issues.
A bit late but blind spots are an excuse for not wanting to look properly.

3k extra for the sport package is what you want.
Love my 370z it’s convertible but I’m close to 50 still enjoying going fast when need too .
Head rest is only meant to keep you from getting whip lash in an accident...
+Mezz right, I was only trying to demonstrate how cheap the seats felt.
Drove the 370Z the other day, agree that the headrest thing is annoying. Good of you to point that out as I have not felt that in any other car.
Blanks are also on the top of the line nismo 370z.
Because Nismo has bucket seats and it does not have heating (side buttons; while middle buttons are for the Roadster's reclinable roof)
this guy is a joke. Don't take his opinion on anything.
For the radio its not that bad you could get one double din with touch screen but I wonder what are the 3 blank button for
heated seats in touring trim
These things with a 3inch straight pipe are crazy
Does the base model has functional Rev Match button ????
Bro FYI the three blanks are on the nissmo model aswell. convertible modle is the only one that gets the buttons
In fairness the touring and touring sport gets 2 out of 3 as they are the heated seats :) Nismo should come with them at that price. Yes it is supposed to be a track car but honestly who is kidding who. Most buy it for the looks not the track.
I think they regressed when it comes to the front bumper. I just don't like it.

Shitty review, I love the base model exterior, and basic interior. How does it look aged? it doesn't look old at all.
Do you think the sport pkg adds any speed on 0-60 over the base model?
I am not sure. I will have to ask the Nissan folks and get back to you.
+NobodyFits No. All trim levels except 1 have the same 332 h.p. engine. The Nismo version - which is almost $20,000 more expensive - has 350 h.p.
+Electric Monk
All engines are the same
the nismo one just has a tuned exhaust which gives 18 more hp
+NobodyFits The advantage of taking another version is only for the LSD differential that the BASE don't have. otherwise the base model is lighter than the other one and with very few mods you can beat a nismo on the 1/4 miles.

Does this come in auto? Would you say that I can drive this car all year long including during a mild Canadian winter?
+Barcelona Chromebook yes you can get an Automatic and with a set of good winter tires and easy driving styles, you 'll be fine all year round.
MotorPress.ca - Thanks brother... I am searching for a used one....any more tips about previous models would be appreciated
