You can actually roll up the windows as well. Remove the key 🔑 from the fob and insert into the door lock and lock and hold. It will roll the windows back up. Hope this was helpful!
The radio station steering wheel selector makes sense and is intuitive to the mode you are in. When using the screen with the 'list of stations' from lower to higher the selector moves the cursor up and down the list as displayed. So to go to the top of the list you move the cursor up and to the bottom you move the cursor down. Makes perfect sense. When you select a station and go to the 'single station' data screen with the current station number, then the selector works like a tuner. It moves up and down the frequency band, so up goes to stations higher than the one displayed and down goes lower ones than displayed. Makes perfect sense.
The electric plug in your rear bumper is for the bright red rear fog light, which is standard on cars in the U.K. It looks really cool actually - a bit F1.
Small correction: You can actually use the physical key to roll up the windows. Detach it from the key fob and stick it into the driver side door and hold it in the lock direction. This is useful if you ever get the steering lock issue that otherwise prevents window control that so many of us Z owners have suffered from. I know both from experience. :P
You can actually put the Windows up from outside. not exactly with the remote, but in my model if you insert the key into the door and turn towards lock pos and hold it will raise the Windows! Its great when you have a guest in the car and they forget to put the window up, this way you dont have to climb back in and turn on the power!
You can make the windows go back up too. Just put the key in the door and turn to lock the doors and hold it there for 3secs, window should go up in case you forgot. For G35 and G37, i think it closes the sunroof as well, i will have to check that on my G35 though, not sure.
Thanks, this works in my '04 350z (touring) too :-) Also, holding the key in the unlock position lowers both windows. My (aftermarket?) remote doesn't do anything besides lock/unlock the door.
That square on the back is where the camera goes on tech models (like yours) and also fog light on Nismo models and it's also another brake light. On the steering wheel paddle, flipping it once up goes to the next XM radio genre, and vice-versa. All this info is in the owners manual. Oh, and your air conditioner setting is supposed to remember what it was on. Go get it fixed.
Wondering if the up/down radio on your steering wheel is for when you're driving, it goes to the "next highest station" that is on your list. Don't know if you thought to try that, but I bet that is what it does. In the menu it goes 1,2,3,4... but when driving, I'd bet it just looks at the numbers and picks the one that is the next highest or lowest, as if you were tuning the radio.
A really crazy and insane quirk to owning a z is that it is so addicting i bought 2. Call me nuts but now both sides of my brain are in harmony....thanks nissan.
I really like the 370Z. I currently have an S2000 and i'm going to test drive a 370Z soon to see if I prefer it. At 6'2" i don't fit great in the S and I'm thinking I'd like the torque and added room in the 370.
I have a '14 bought it brand new. My gas cap lock was making the same noise as yours. Took it to Nissan, and got a new one covered by the factory warranty. Eventually that locking actuator will go out. I use a actual OBDII reader for my gas mileage, and I've only hit 20+mpg on the highway, and about 18+ in the city. Car looks good enjoy it.
I got a new 2019 all black 370Z sport coupe 6M and love it. I had a two-stage paint correction done on it with a ceramic coat(OptiCoat Pro +) and the car really looks nice and turns heads. I upgraded the sway bars to a Hotchkiss set front and rear with some StopTech stainless steel braided brake lines. I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires as my second set that are okay but I'm not going with these again when it's time for a tire change. My gas mileage is similar to yours, 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway with Shell V-power Nitro+ 91 octane. I find that I get slightly better gas mileage with the Shell, vs Chevron Supreme or Mobil Synergy At a steady 60mph in 6th gear I can get as high as 32 to 33 mpg on the highway. My oil consumption at 16K miles is very low, about 1 oz per 1K miles using the Nissan Ester oil. The VQ engine seems to burn very cleanly with very little carbon residue in the exhaust tips. I do an alcohol wipe on the inside of the exhaust tips every 2 months or so to keep then looking like new and there is barely a trace of carbon. My plans for the future are to replace the stock brake rotors with two-piece ones with aluminum ones, which should save about 5 lbs per wheel on unsprung weight. I'm goig to explore the possibility of replacing the steel wheel studs with titanium ones to save additional weight. I use the car as a daily driver too and it is a very practical, yet fun, car to drive. The power and handling make it a real joy to drive every day. The main problem is protecting it from all the thoughtless and careless people around where I live in the SF bay area.
I love my Z im on my 2nd one now cause i traded in the first one like 2 years ago and ive regretted it ever since i just got another one a month ago and im so happy i got another one its just right. 2011,grey,6MT, touring
I've just recieved delivery of one of the last 370's to be shipped to Australia ( Production date Aug 2021). Thanks for the tips. The car is wonderful!
In parts of Europe and Japan these lights are required as part of the fog light system at the rear center, in America and Canada, they just put a blank.
in order for you to get the more accurate gas mileage calculation ignore that computer and do mileage / gallons added and you'll get a true miles per gallon
The radio station thing is because that's how the previous person set the radio presets. In that mode the steering wheel didn't go by channel anymore it goes through your 6 presets
They seem to have worked out almost all these quirks on the later models. My '15 370z Nismo doesn't seem to have these quirks. The light on the back is a fog light on the EU models, so can only assume it didn't meet the requirements in the US market or something?
1. The black square hides the square receiver for a trailer hitch ;) 2. Most cars have fairly vertical sides where the gas flap is located. The Z's gas flap is quite inclined. Is it possible they made it bigger to catch any drips so it lands inside the lid and not on the paint?
Gas cap is fine for me. Light on the back on my 2010 sport touring has a light. Love the remote window down feature. Agree it would be nice to go up too. I don't have but it is a boss system and I am fine with it. My climate control is completely different strange all auto if I want it to be. Love seat controls where they are as you pointed out. Your mpg was unreal. I am 13 to 15 in town and 22 to 26 on highway, but summer is here so I will see how much it improves. Trunk is ok. I put my back pack behind passenger seat. Great spot for it.
With these Z cars... Always change transmission fluid. 30 thousand miles interval. The earlier the better. Don't be like me. I missed three fluid changes and my transmission got fried literally. Replaced transmission. It will cost you.
I want to know how the manufacturers rate fuel economy. Cause my Focus is rated 35HWY but I get ~43HWY MPG. Only getting down to 35 when traveling 90MPH
Yep that's a fog light but only in other markets outside the US, don't now why Nissan decided not to use one over there where it snows in certain places???
your car just doesn't have the option for that rear light on the bottom of the bumper, like cars without fog lights, they have the plug for them, just no lights, same thing with that
when the outside temperature is at a certain degree it will always point to the feet to save your window from any possible cracks... read the manual for further details...if you don't have one look one up online
Locking gas cap warning... If you lock the car from the inside, using the button in the driver's door, you'll still be able to get out of the car. However, when you go to open the filler flap it will still be locked. If you try to force it open, like I did, you'll break the plastic lock, like I did - oooops. Be careful!
to make your windows go back up with the key, it's actually useless, but you stick the key into the driver door key hole and turn it to the lock or maybe unlock position and hold for like 5 or so seconds and the windows will roll up
in order to unlock the trunk and open it all you have to do is hit the square button it is not required for you to hit the circular but the circular button is just for the the doors
ik this was uploaded 3 yrs ago but you can take out the actual physical key inside the fob and turn to lock door + hold until windows close. That's if you dont wanna go inside your car to actually close the windows.
Cool video! Time to get yourself a a buffer kit (torq is what I went with from chemical guys plus some v36-v38) and polish on that sucker! Will take about five hours to do it properly, but will fix that spider web/hair scratch action you have on it. THEN that red will just look AMAZING. The quirk I cannot figure out on mine: If I turn off the car with the drivers side door open, it makes this beeping sound until you close it again. If it's closed, then turn off the car, no beeping sound. Also the trunk does not always fully open when holding the button down in the back; Apparently there's a stupid 2lb weight in the rear hatch that can be removed that can help things out (see 370z forums). Time for some pilot super sports after your sick of those Toyo's! Also the traction control is extremely annoying, but I think an often overlooked modification is going to a much better rear diff, but a good one is going to be $$$, but will remove the wheel spin issue from a dead stop and corner exits (unless you just have new tires every few months right?). Keep up the posting. Also how did it do on the track compared to the previous car?
I've already buffed the hood and one door. lol. It is a work in progress buffing the whole exterior. I have noticed the trunk not fully opening a few times. The Z was a beast on the track, it would blow apart my Genesis all day long!
Yeah the sides and top will go quicker, but damn that red will look amazing when done! Are you going with headers+cat back? or bigtime with a fast intentions turbo kit?
Haha not really, it's a dummy foglight. In the European/Asian market it's a fog light. The US market it's a blank, so you couldn't add a hitch nor can this tow!
That thing on the back is probably another back up light if u install it or for a backup cam. I do k ow that most back up cams on 370 z are in license plate but who knows.
My guesses -
1. Gas Cap cover bigger so pump face will insert and not scratch.
2. Back bummer is for aftermarket receiver. Yes, they make them.
On the bottom of the rear is a European fog light.
You can actually roll up the windows as well. Remove the key 🔑 from the fob and insert into the door lock and lock and hold. It will roll the windows back up. Hope this was helpful!
What I was thinking aswell

True I have it on my 2009 Nurburgring Edition Z . I really wanted it to be stop light , but ... love it like it is too.

did you also know the turn signal is built into the z logo on the fender?
thanks for this vid. I'm actually considering getting a 370z this weekend. Im looking into a used 2012 touring model.

actually in canada its a working fog light. I have one in my car that works from factory.

Ive seen it where it is a receiver hitch for like a bike carrier or maybe even a small trailer.
Radio button isn't flipped, in preset it's regular going down a list but in full screen you're going up and down in number value
Really glad to have come across your vids. Informative, unbias, and to the point bro. thank you
I wonder if you programmed the radio stations with the numerically higher stations on top if it would resolve the issue you are seeing?
There IS an inside trunk release. Behind passenger seat, inside the flip-out deal.
The rear blank.... In Japan it's a light. I modded it to be a rear fog light that it's supposed to be
Drove mine back from North Carolina last week. My gas mileage going back to Saint Louis was actually good.
That’s good! It’s a fun car!
Absolutely love it! Congrats on the new z. One sweet ride!
I don't know why, but this video kinda makes me want one now. I wish I could but the 350 lights and nismo front end on this

The gas cap lock is really common and have been for as long as central locking have been normal.

PS. That's a long rectangular button for the trunk not square.
I love my 350 but damn I would love a 370 :(
That black thing on the bottom of the bumper is for the backup camera on the touring models
I believe the black thing with wires on the back is where the back-up camera can go
You can put the windows up by using the key that pops out of the key fab, and I believe holding in the lock position for 3 seconds.
1. The black square hides the square receiver for a trailer hitch ;)
2. Most cars have fairly vertical sides where the gas flap is located. The Z's gas flap is quite inclined. Is it possible they made it bigger to catch any drips so it lands inside the lid and not on the paint?
AikiRandy1969 why would there be a trailer hitch on a small, lightweight sports car. Lol
At 4:55 you just need to put your highest number radio station at 1 then it will make sense
Maybe. I never even listen to the radio these days. Spotify FTW! Commercials are too annoying lol

Oh yikes.. Yeah I did my GTR at 35k miles like it recommends. Only owned this Z for 6 months. And I'm pretty sure this car was in the 20k mile range
It make sense the bottom to switch the radio. Down = shorter number of radio stations
I guess so. But then like I showed in the other modes, it goes in a different direction to what is logical lol
If you stick the actual key in the drivers side door and turn it to the right it will roll the windows back up
Yeah I learned that later on. Super cool feature!
I want to know how the manufacturers rate fuel economy. Cause my Focus is rated 35HWY but I get ~43HWY MPG. Only getting down to 35 when traveling 90MPH
that back bit on mine Is a rear fog light

It's a working fog light in Australia
I used to think that stock shift knob wasn't too bad, that is till I installed my Password JDM knob. The stock knob can go to hell.
the black thing on the back is a break light, you only see it when your foot is on the pedal thats why you never saw it
No it isnt for the US market. It's a blank with no bulbs. The spot where a bulb would be inserted is not molded with a cutout
Maybe that place is for high trim level? Just like a track brake light?
Just guessing :)
in order to unlock the trunk and open it all you have to do is hit the square button it is not required for you to hit the circular but the circular button is just for the the doors
Right. But I keep my key in my back pack. And if I don't unlock the car, I can't open the door if the car was locked.
That square at the bottom of the back end IS actually a light. It just needs a bulb. It's required for cars in Europe, but not here.
Yeah in the US its a blank
On 1:45, I really cant believe that's not a light 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️😂😂
Yeah it's a dummy light for USA market cars. In Europe and Asia it's a rear fog light. But for the US market it's fake
When people who don't know about specifics of a car talk about them 😂
ik this was uploaded 3 yrs ago but you can take out the actual physical key inside the fob and turn to lock door + hold until windows close. That's if you dont wanna go inside your car to actually close the windows.
Yes. The fob buttons with open the windows, then the actual key can close them. Pretty cool feature.
Euro versions of the 370Z uses that middle piece as a brake light or running light.
Only One
That is a light...not used in America but you can order that bub plug it in it works find...break light

Yeah I know. Weird they'd give us a fake one with a real lens tho
What an amazing machine 😍
australia has the reflector its also an emergency brake light

there's no aux?
how much do you pay for the insurance for the car
I think this one was around $1k a year. Nismo was slightly more. And my GTR is only a couple hundred bucks more per year then this

just realised the Z uses the same wheel as the juke
lol similar designs I guess
I get about 21 on my G37 Auto. You probably have non-Ethanol gas and live in a flat area. 25mpg..I wish.
That's shockingly good mileage!! I have a '12 6spd standard coupe and get 18 on average. On the freeway maybe 21 or 22. With premium.
I have the same model and that's what I get also with the Stillen long tube intakes

awesome video man thank you so much for making this
