    Thank you, Chris, it was a good lesson. Easy to do and now I know about few new nodes!

    Awesome channels and tutorials - thanks a lot! Is this "action from object" node also able to reference the animated transformations on one particular bone in an armature?

    Thanks for the tutorial. That's a really helpful feature. Do you know if instead of the delay you can also use some kind of falloff to trigger the animation for instances specifically one animation after another. Let's say say you have 5 instances you would first go from 1 to 3 then have a pause and trigger the rest of the objects later? Basically is there some kind of index based falloff? Thanks!

    I have a question please, can you tell me why I would use animation nodes over Geomety nodes? Like isn't geometry nodes has Luke 70% of the nodes that animation nodes has ? Thx

    • @chrisprenn
      @chrisprenn  4 місяці тому +1

      Geometry Nodes only works with geometry (meshes, curves,...). Animation Nodes can also do other things. However, with GN getting better all the time, you can do a lot now just with GN. Also note: this video is from 2020 and things have changed drastically since then. I personally don't have the need for AN any more.

    Hi Chris ! Can you randomly delay actions, so for example some copies start earlier and some later in a random fashion .. Thanks

  • @amanthangellapally2067

    Can we have multiple actions on an armature and instance many armatures and randomize the actions between them? i am thinking of crowd simulations through this...

    • @chrisprenn
      @chrisprenn  3 роки тому +1

      I tried that and failed ... mainly because I suck at rigging .... If you can come up with a solution, please share!

    Hello, I enjoyed mostly what you've presented, but, maybe it's my set-up, I'm running w10 Enterprise with current blender/python. I've kind of poked my way around how you've set it up. I really enjoyed (Real-World) stuff it's so enjoyable, I'm looking to import weekly or monthly data into blender (next to current, for stability) learning both blender/python, kind of a steep learning curve. How to enable nodes in blender is confusing. Keep up the excellent podcast. Rock on, thank you. Be safe

      Hello, I'm very new to Blender/Python, I'm learning I need to add plugins for it to work as I'm wanting. I like the scripts I'm finding very confusing with the different screens, need to install the Animation thing. Wish my luck I don't get too lost lol. Rock on, be safe

    Only just starting the video and wanted to ask about the Keys screen cast you are using. I've tried a couple but i like the one you are using. Where did you get it and/or what's it called?
    Edit---
    Oh i just noticed it doesn't always work. Near the beginning where you was rotating and locking on the X or Y, it wasn't showing the X or Y key presses.

    Hello Chris, I have been having this exact same problem ever since learning about animation nodes a year ago. I go to the addon folder to where animation node zip is, I install, I wait, then I get a blue message across the bottom of blender window where all the hot keys are shown saying that the installation of the animation nodes addon was sucessful, however, in the install menu there is no animation nodes window that pops up for me to tick to start. I go looking for the animation nodes title in the editor type and there is no reference for the animation nodes. It loads, and simply shows nothing to allow me to do anything with them.
    I have uninstalled the way your quick tip video suggests but the same thing happens with no nodes showing anywhere, but it says uploaded in the warning bar below. Soooo frustrated, I love the idea of these nodes but have no way to access. Do you know what might be going on here?
    Thank you for the assist, and as usual, for all the great and pertinent information you provide.

      I can record the process if you would like me to so you can see for yourself what happens every time I try to reinstall.

      I see you've answered questions here between now and when I posted this question. Any reason for not answering? It is a technical issue I cannot fix and do not know what is going on. Thank you for some kind of reply?
