Here's one hell of an unbelievable find, the CD Rainbow Card just keeps on cooking in Kentuckiana!

Thinking about it, maybe the Rainbow Card might've been used until the end of the EBS in 1996. Or at least until 1994-95.
WXON tv 20 in Detroit used that card from late 70s-around 1993 with black bar with scrolling text with a character generator at the bottom of the screen. It ran during afternoon cartoons.
Looks like a DCPA era slide. 1974 maybe.
WPIX supposedly kept using their slide from the 1970s until about 1994, albeit with the "11Alive" logo dropped from it once they got rid of that logo.
WPIX got rid of their "11Alive" logo during the late-1980s. They continued to use an updated version of their longtime 1970s card up until January 1995 when it flipped to The WB which eventually became its flagship. Right after it became The WB, their EBS card was replaced with a different one featuring Michigan J. Frog in it (one of a handful WB stations that featured Michigan himself on an EBS/EAS card). Michigan would later appear in WPIX's EAS card from 1997 until around 2004.
@@eascec8374 Chuck recalls them briefly using a different design in 1994, but with the same voiceover.
Now that's lost media right there! I know its out there somewhere.
@@eascec8374 Still waiting for the WDIV test to emerge online too, with those spinning green lines. That’s the test I wanna see the most, though the WIS EBS rectangles slide someone mentioned on another video sounds interesting as well.
Around summer of 1992.
I can tell because there is a local Kentucky ad earlier in the original video that had a location upgrade which I checked newspapers shortly after seeing the ad.
What Day aired. 📺
What is your favorite rainbow card EBS test slide in this video?
I don't know actually. There's a lot of cool and amazing rainbow EBS card variations out there but many of them are still lost though. I really love the "On Radio" one shown here, which has a really nice mid-1970s touch with its curved font.
How they used that
