- Father and son duo, Chip and Carville Mace, show us at Foxleigh Farm, that it is possible to plant seedless watermelon. Contrary to popular belief, this is done without genetic modification, but rather through conventional plant breeding. This practice is crucial to ensuring proper conditions can be met before the official planting stage begins. As a result, the melons are planted in the field after they have already sprouted. Carville later explains how proper conditions before planting are not the only cause for concern. It is also imperative to line the crops a particular way, as it can impact the plants’ ability to pollinate. However, when done correctly, farmers are rewarded with the beautiful sight of seemingly unending green throughout the entire field.

I’ve planted red and yellow watermelons before but I want to learn more about seedless watermelons and how to grow them
My opinion they buy their plants already sprouted.
So made in a lab and then put in a green house.
I never buy no fruit/veggie without a seed
How does it feel to be stupid?
You should learn some botany/agronomy
Great content saved me a growing season. Thought I could take the uncommonly found seeds from a store bought seedless melon and plant them but doesn’t look like that will work. Any ideas?
Thanks
Special growing conditions?
What kind of irrigation system are you using?
I am allergic to seeded watermelons so I can only eat the seedless watermelon‘s so thank you for your hard work I will enjoy eating them
Seedless Watermelon is man made. Anything with a seed grows from the sun, how is anything growed without a seed.
@@seleniawilliams2874they explain it in the video you watched.
Thanks, so you can use seeds from seedless watermelon.you just need to plant them without seeded melons for pollination
I interesting
Why the heck are seeded watermelon so much more expensive to buy when seedless are harder and more expensive to grow? More popular seller?? You would think people would want healthier watermelon?
We can strough seeds in a dam clear-cut in north alabama an come back to a truckload of seeded watermelons.. and they taste so good people forgot for some reason..
because they want to destroy seeded fruits to have a monopoly on the seeds.
How do i have a horticultural specialist to do some science in normal watermelon to become seedless? How do you achieve it in the state? Thank you.

How do you control grass and weeds between the rows?
They probably use herbicide. I might grow clover and plow it under after the crop
How do you spray insecticides?
I found a seed in a seedless melon today. I guess it's just a fluke and won't sprout, but I'll try it anyway next year.
I thought that you plant no seeds to get the seedless watermelon...
Can I join.....
i dont want seedless watermelon. doesnt taste as good as the ones with seeds. I feel like farmers dont want people planting the seeds to grow their own plants. im sure watermelon sold just as well when they were all seeded
If it dont got seeds dont eat
How can you say they aren’t modified when you say you are mixing to keep them from producing seeds🤦🏽♂️
You can make this up😂😂😂
