  • Father and son duo, Chip and Carville Mace, show us at Foxleigh Farm, that it is possible to plant seedless watermelon. Contrary to popular belief, this is done without genetic modification, but rather through conventional plant breeding. This practice is crucial to ensuring proper conditions can be met before the official planting stage begins. As a result, the melons are planted in the field after they have already sprouted. Carville later explains how proper conditions before planting are not the only cause for concern. It is also imperative to line the crops a particular way, as it can impact the plants’ ability to pollinate. However, when done correctly, farmers are rewarded with the beautiful sight of seemingly unending green throughout the entire field.

My opinion they buy their plants already sprouted.
So made in a lab and then put in a green house.
I never buy no fruit/veggie without a seed

Great content saved me a growing season. Thought I could take the uncommonly found seeds from a store bought seedless melon and plant them but doesn’t look like that will work. Any ideas?
    Thanks

Seedless Watermelon is man made. Anything with a seed grows from the sun, how is anything growed without a seed.

Why the heck are seeded watermelon so much more expensive to buy when seedless are harder and more expensive to grow? More popular seller?? You would think people would want healthier watermelon?

I found a seed in a seedless melon today. I guess it's just a fluke and won't sprout, but I'll try it anyway next year.

i dont want seedless watermelon. doesnt taste as good as the ones with seeds. I feel like farmers dont want people planting the seeds to grow their own plants. im sure watermelon sold just as well when they were all seeded
