Talking about warranties, Diana and Beeman are distributed through Pyramyd Air. I recently purchased a Beeman R9 in August 2024. The rifle was placed in a safe for almost 3 weeks while waiting on a scope to arrive. The scope arrived and when I took the R9 out of my gun cabinet I found significant rust on the receiver under where the scope would be mounted. I have five other rifles in the same lockup with zero rust problems. After contacting Pyramyd Air and in turn the seller/dealer, I found out they were not interested in hearing about my problem with a brand new rifle! Pyramyd Air said, ask your dealer for some free pellets! No warranty on rust and corrosion because of poor bluing on a fine German engineered rifle!!!
I'm addicted to D54s and D56s. I have several and I use the Diana Bullseye ZR mounts on all and have never had a scope failure. I have either UTGs or Centerpoint side focus scopes on mine.
@@airgunspestingch.8426 The last couple I got from AGN classifieds. I posted a WTB and got good deals. They have knock offs on Amazon, but they require a little modifications to make them work well.
Very nice review. Sounds like you had a great experience with your new gun. I was not so fortunate. I purchased A Diana 54 .177 here in Canada and it arrived a week ago. What a disappointment. With a Hawke scope optically centered, at 21 yards, it was 10 1/2"low. I had to click up 120 clicks to hit the POA and that was only 21 yards ! I could not believe it. This was my first Diana airrifle and was aware that barrel droop[ might be an issue but nothing like this. Just to be sure I mounted another scope, a Helix Elements 6-24 x50 and same thing. Actually a bit worse. I then did something really stupid and attempted to hit the POA at 40 yards. Shooting AA10.3 diabalo's and the scope elevation turret absolutely maxed out ( that was the stupid thing) to the highest elevation , it was still down about 4 inches. i also think I destroyed the scope as now it won't hole the POA. I should have know better especially with the recoil of this gun. I had ordered the Diana ZR recoil absorbing , droop compensation mount and it arrived the next day. I was a bit taken back to see that , yes, it was engineered in Germany but manufactured in China. Was hoping for the best but no where near compensated enough to shoot beyond 35 yards with light pellets. So disappointing. I immediately contacted the dealer hoping I could return it for a new one but no. Actually I had purchased the last one in stock. I am now dealing with the warranty department, have to ship it back across Canada, at my expense, to BC to the Diana warranty company called "Blue Line Solutions". This will be for an " in house" repair . Not exactly what I had envisioned for a gun that I had saved up for over a year to get. I hope the warranty department has technicians who have the skills to correct this issue and bring it back to factory specs.
The bullet drop is caused by the weight of your scoop. I have a 54 with the Helix Element on top. Because the top part of the gun can move back when shooting every tiny bit of weight added will change the POI. I had that problem too so I just put some inlay( by Hawke for 30mm and 1'' scoop mounts) under the scoop to raise it under a slight angle. Now I'm shooting hole in hole at 25m. That drop or raise of bullet will happen if you put a silencer on to it. I just bought one and had to adjust my sight again. Have fun shooting.
@@igorfrijn6004 Thanks Igor for you reply. Not quite sure what you mean by inlay by Hawke? I will see if I can find what you are using. I assume it's a thin strip of aluminum type material that raises the back of your scope. I have not tried to do this yet. Not keen on doing this as do not want to over stress the scope tube. I did try the Diana ZR droop compensation mount with my Helix Elements scope. Still not enough . Elevation turret maxed up height wise, I have to hole over meaning aim 4 to 6 " high shooting AA10.3 gr pellets, at 40 yards to hit the point of aim? This can't be normal. I'll have to aim a foot high at 60 yards . This is definitely not going to work for me, think my gun is off to the warranty department this week. Question for you; Would you consider your Diana 54 powerful ? Mine is anything but. It seems to have about as much power as my WH97K which has a Vortek 12ft/lb drop in kit installed. How can this be? I do not have a cronograph but did a very unscientific controlled test , fired my TX200, R9 and 97K into a 500 page catalog at 3 inches, same pellet , distance etc. The TX and R9 have High Output Vortek kits installed and WH 97 a 12 ft lb. Penetration results; TX penetrated to page 490 , R9 Pg 479 , WH97 pg 183, Diana 54 pg 168. What! There has to be something wrong with my new D54.
@@joebergin8113 Hi Joe, I'm shooting .22 HN 18gr and I have nothing to compare with so I can't say how hard it is shooting. To me, always shooting .177, it's a whole other level shooting .22. And what I meant by 'inlay' was the Hawke mount- inserts. These are small plastic pieces that are different in thickness to place underneath your scoop. So no extra stress for the tube to place under a slight angle for shooting. The ZR mount, just throw away. I had mine also made in China with to much slack in the mechanism. Could not hit target straight with that. Just buy a good pair of rifle scoop mount or maybe adjustable in height (by FX?) I hope my info is useful for you.
@@igorfrijn6004 Hi Igor, OK I get it with the plastic inserts. Thanks for the explanation. As far as the ZR Diana mounts, your probably right there. I did notice excessive slack in the movement of the mount on the rails but didn't shoot enough to really find out. Some Diana 54 owners say they are great , others like you don't care for them. Darn, what a waist of $200.00. I will keep the adjustable FX mounts in mind if I ever get the gun working properly. But almost given up on that right now. I have been waiting for over a month for the Diana Warranty Department here in Canada , to take my gun for repairs. I purchased it July 26th 2022, received it August 10th , used it one day , was completely shocked at how poorly it preformed, and put it back in the box. That's where it still sits. I think the serious lack of power might be the problem, maybe a broken or faulty spring or a big hole in the piston seal .As previously stated , the date stamped on the receiver is Dec 2018, almost almost 4 years old. Maybe the seals deteriorated over that time just sitting not being used. I am tempted to take it apart but not going to touch a screw while it's under warranty. What a mess. if I ever get it fixed I will have a few more questions for you Igor, Thanks again for taking the time to help me. Joe
There is a feller that lives in India, or somewhere in that general direction, who has put up a video about how to properly tune the sledge. I don't remember his name or channel. You'll just have to look. If that recoil sledge ain't tuned to the "T" for the scope and mounts (the total optic weight) then you're going to have those scope killer issues. Look him up. He does some video in his language but he does several of them in English also.
