    Separating out the specific parts and tools for each of the seven step assembly process steps was brilliant on the part of the manufacturer. For the price, I am impressed at how sturdy this ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxvObaTzoHoHQLL4lHbJQmExHqsrZQm-f7 unit is and it does go together easily. Well, I was puzzled at first at Step 5 and maybe the instructions should mention that rail #62 needs to be tilted upwards a little to get the rail to fit into the main part #44. I like it that the rower can be stored vertically in a really small amount of space, but be forewarned that this rower is top heavy and for safety you'll need at least two bungee cords to keep the unit upright, attaching them to something; in my case to a third garage door. I have had this unit only a short time, and I will post an update once I've had it for a year. As for working your legs, I have to admit that I'm mainly rowing for upper body strength and I use other forms of exercise for leg strength (like walking fast, biking, or using a trampoline. But if you pull as far forward as possible, then you can give preference to your legs for the first 4 feet or so of travel. I also admit to not taking the two electronic connectors apart at Step 7. I simply inserted the two batteries while the other parts remained connected. By the way, there is plenty of resistance here, even in the lowest resistance settings. Kudos to Sunny Health & Fitness !

    This is a great video that I just happened upon and easily describes some of the more important points to rowing on the concept 2 for those starting out. There is so much to consider in rowing but most of it can be fine tuned, once you have rowed many miles or kilos, you figure out what works best for yourself.
    I love the "push not pull" comment by the instructor as it explains one of the easiest ways to start rowing poorly if you just make it an upper body exercise.
    As I get older, the rowing machine and the Concept 2 in particular is my go to exercise to maintain my core and cardio in a low impact way. Great job on the video!

      Just ordered mine, I seen you made this comment a year ago. So my question to you is after a year how do you feel about the rower and did you meet your expected goals of getting in shape using it. I hope with weight lifting and rowing I can turn my body and mind around and get fit again.

    I just viewed your video on the three most common rowing errors in which you talk about the last 30% of the stroke involveing the upper body and arms. As Duke Ellington said, "It don't mean a thing if it aint got that swing." So that video clarified the nuances of the stroke, thanks.

    Great video, thank you! I have had my C2 Erg for a month now and I love it! My core is pretty weak from having kids and surgeries so maybe it's a weak core issue, but I'm having trouble with pain in my lower back as well as underneath my legs (where they meet my butt) hurts a lot where during a workout I have to stop and reposition myself on the seat. Super annoying bc I'm focused and I don't want to stop my workout. Does that make sense? What am I doing wrong? TIA

    • @Dreyno
      @Dreyno 2 роки тому

      Are you sitting far enough back in the seat? Sitting too far forward means your lower back bends too much. Get your , pardon the term, asscheeks back in the seat like the video says. Back a little further than you think. It’ll straighten your back a little and take weight of you coccyx (tail bone). You want to make sure there no pressure coming on it at any point in the stroke. It might also remedy the underside of your legs but that might be a separate issue. I’m not qualified to give any advice but definitely make sure you’re sitting well back on the seat.

    I'm in the market for a fitness machine either a Treadmill or Rowing machine. I'm leaning toward the Rowing Machine and the Concept 2. Learning from your instruction a lot, thank you. After step-5, you did pull the handle (elbow passed the body), after pushing with the leg. Did I get that correct?

    Although you push with your legs, once they are fully extended, you then lean back and pull with your upper body to finish the stroke, thus making it a two part movement involving both lower and upper body strength.

    @ #5 Been rowing for more than 35 years, and I _still_ haven't managed to integrate this into my mechanics. Even though I know intellectually what I need to do, I have not been able to do it. Which is a shame, because I'm 6'3", 230 lbs, so a strong, long-levered physique. Me = Wasted Resources. LOL

    The only true test of whether your technique is sound on the erg is if you do it in a shell on the water. If you do not row on the water it’s all speculative. It’s about drag factor not damper setting. It’s on the pm. Should be between 110 and 115. Guessing she never rowed at a d1 or d2 school.
