One of my fav songs! Mark does a great job & Grand Old Opry is the perfect place. Much underrated singer. Today’s country music is lacking Steel guitars!
I did not think anyone could even come close to performing the original by the Marshall Tucker Band. Slowing it down and being in the Grand Ole Opry took this classic to a new level. Great rendition Mark. Can't be wrong.....
saw mark at a casino concert when his band couldn't cross the Canadian border..... acoustic guitar and a drum set he was freaking great his songs and covered anyone you could imagine just a pure entertainer!!!
I still am partial to Marshall Tucker/Doug Gray , but I appreciate that Mark recognizes a great song when he hears one ! Imitation is the best form of flattery!
I've opened for Mark and MTB in different bands. Both very positive experiences. Mark was so kind to us visiting our backstage area (he even waited for me when I was stealing some of his beer just before he went onstage, I didn't know it was him until he said, "How're you?") and we all shared songs and stories after his show. San Diego. Barry Amundsen ☺️
Great musician with awesome talent. I always did love Mark Chestnut’s music and always will. The man has the voice that just opens the heart and mind. Makes you get memorized. Just listen to Lost In The Feeling. Wow!
Great rendition of the MTB song!! Mark absolutely kills it!! Mark when I listen to your music, I wish I was sitting in a tavern off the beaten path drinking an ice cold mug with a shot of whisky and the jukebox loaded with your tunes! lol Love your music, you are one of the best ever man!!
Same here Huck. I was doing a lot of driving for a living in those days, and I too wore out just about every MTB cassette Those guys never got their due...
Was at his concert yesterday at Mercedes Texas, 12 March 2019 and Happy to say that after all this year's, he still got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤐🤘
I know this was a few years ago, but this is a wonderful version. I’m usually not a big fan of covers-this one is special. Amazing what great musicians can do. Thanks
Another band that got pigeonholed as county but was so much more than that. Country, rock, blues, and could get jazzy but the music programmers of the day didn't know what to do with them. Same problem with Charlie Daniels. They would have more fans today if everybody could have heard them back then.
That'd be great but you'll have to go to Mark's website and tell them yourself. Haven't worked regularly for them in a while, although I do occasionally fill in on their request.
The intro gave me a chuckle. Very genuine. It's said that playing an instrument while singing is the hardest challenge for a performer to do well live. I'd say it's talking to the audience 😉.
Mark did a great job on this old standard and I really like his singing and have a couple of his albums from the 80's. Thanks for putting this one on. Better than Marshall Tucker's!
Rhonda Bland He would. Mark likes to be authentic if he does something. That's why, when other marquis acts in country are cutting back by not carrying certain players, Mark has always had everything needed to cover HIS music.
The most underrated country singer ever. Should be mentioned as one of the greatest of all time
There are lots of great underrated country artists from the early 90s. Clay Walker is another one that comes to mind.
If anyone should be honored in Country music, it's Mark Chesnutt!

Perfect country boy to cover Marshall Tucker.
GOD bless Texas !
The music of Marshall Tucker shall live forever
Another band that got pigeonholed as county but was so much more than that. Country, rock, blues, and could get jazzy but the music programmers of the day didn't know what to do with them. Same problem with Charlie Daniels. They would have more fans today if everybody could have heard them back then.

Thanks Ronald. Always a lot of fun to do the Opry.
Well sung Mark.
Really good remake.
Lo mejor de la música country es interpretada por Mark. un aficionado de este género musical desde el estado México.
Would’ve been nice to hear this on the radio.
Great song.
very nice
Mark' s band would steal the show if Mark wasn't the mesmerizing singer he is.
I love this real countryfied version of this tune.
Mark is so dreamy oh I just love him
That’s one bad ass drummer !
Hey Lee Kelly tell mark y'all should come up to Appalachian fair grounds next year lol ..
That'd be great but you'll have to go to Mark's website and tell them yourself. Haven't worked regularly for them in a while, although I do occasionally fill in on their request.
Awesome!
Come to the Midland/Odessa Tx area.
The intro gave me a chuckle. Very genuine. It's said that playing an instrument while singing is the hardest challenge for a performer to do well live. I'd say it's talking to the audience 😉.
Great job! =)
Love it mark
Nailed it!
Mark did a great job on this old standard and I really like his singing and have a couple of his albums from the 80's. Thanks for putting this one on. Better than Marshall Tucker's!
Great song and I am from PGH> PENN>
Nice cover...
Wow! I don't think I've ever heard anyone cover that song that well... All it's missing is a few of the choice Toy Caldwell licks..
He did a great job on this song.
2020. - as great now as it was many years ago.
He done the Marshall tucker band proud with his version of this song.
The voice
great song! great version of an old song! you can imagine hearing it in a dirtbag truckstop somewhere near Macon Georgia!
donny blondy or riding your pony on the family farm near Plains
Not bad. Appreciate the nod to MTB. They should be in the RR HOF.
Amen brother; those boys never got their due.
I love you mark. Its ok im just an old fashioned woman that was born in Dallas Texas.
So incredibly underrated
Well done, he can remake any old song he wants! However, if he wants to do Ring Of Fire he MUST INCLUDE THE TRUMPETS to be "authentic"!
Rhonda Bland He would. Mark likes to be authentic if he does something. That's why, when other marquis acts in country are cutting back by not carrying certain players, Mark has always had everything needed to cover HIS music.
Saw him in park in wichita falls sa I scheduled fame to sing not breaks that was true
nice tribute to Toy Caldwell
Wow
