This is so pretty! I make a lot of shawls and this would be such a nice alternative to either m1l/r or yo’s. My thanks to knittingchick50 for asking about a left leaning version - if anyone can do it you can, Maryna! If a left leaning one is possible, how nice would it be along the spine of a shawl! Love this. Thank you and have a great week❤

Thank you, Esme. I'll definitely play with stitches in hopes to find a method that forms a matching left-leaning increase. I agree - these increases will look gorgeous on shawls. Have a lovely weekend, my friend!

That seems to make a right leaning increase. What if you want to increase at the end of the row and make a left leaning increase? Thanks for the great tip!

I have the same question. I love the look of it

That's a great question. Thank you. I haven't tested it yet, but it seems that pulling a stitch from the space between the first two stitches on the right needle should form a left-leaning increase. I'll give it a try, and if it works, I'll make a separate tutorial about it. Thank you once again for the suggestion.

Thank you. I'll look for a way to make a left-leaning increase that looks like a mirror version of the increase described in this tutorial.

Thank you for this lovely tutorial. I was trying to create the increase on both sides of the knitted fabric, for the V-shaped shawls. I tried doing it the same on the other side - did not look as nice as the right side. I even tried going between the two stitches FROM THE BACK, pulling it through (which required the yarn to be pulled to front and then pulled to back after creating the stitch). Can you think of a way to create the same effect on both sides of the fabric? I'd be happy to give you a monetary incentive for this idea since it's such a lovely looking stitch. 🙂

Thank you so much, my dear Julie! I'll be happy to discover / invent a way that forms a matching left-leaning increase. Once I do find this method, I'll make a separate tutorial about it. Happy knitting, my friend!
