Close to 60 here - another gen X. The only thing that bothers me about some young women is how they still cater to men and how unhappy some are with their natural looks. Girl, you're gorgeous and enough. Dont succumb to societal pressures and do not pit women against each other. For the men dont care about any of us, really.

As a 49 year old woman who finally found herself... I hated my youth. I love where I'm at now and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world with a younger woman. Even my looks have evolved. There is no competition here, young ladies. You can't compare apples and oranges. I've been where you are today and trust when I tell you, I don't want to repeat that dumb stage. If you feel like it's a competition that speaks more about your own insecurities than ours. I attract a ton of young men my sons age but I don't want them. Young ladies, you can have them. I've lost 105 pounds over the last two years and currently divorcing my STBX NARC HUSBAND! 😂😂😂 I don't think about competition with the younger ones because it is as you said they are projecting their insecurities! No thanks about competition. I seriously want to join a sewing circle myself. I spent almost 20 years in mental health helping people. I feel as if it was a good choice to put my maternal energy into who I helped, especially when working with teens and people who were or are incarcerated. I feel good that I can look back and hope that I may have helped lift up people. I hope the younger generation of women are safe from predators. Younger women and older women are two different things. Comparing them is ridiculous. If you have some outlier people involved in competition, those are specific individuals behaving that way. The competition I see is manifested in trying to put younger women in their place. I don't know about competing for male attention, but you do have a cohort of older women who either aren't happy with their marriages or families and so the fulfilment and control they lack at home they try to exert in other families or in this case younger women. You also have older women who maybe feel fulfilled but had great difficulty in reaching their heights. So if they see a young woman doing well without going through the traumas she went through she's threatened and jealous and obsessed with humbling her. Either way everyone stay safe. I truly, TRULY wish these kids would learn what hating means. I agree therr is a speck size of the older population who is in competition with the younger girls,but most of us have been there, done that, learned the lesson, and wrote Cliff's Notes on the whole foolishness of it all. The ones, in my observation, who are in said competition are those who lost their youth having children super young. Most of those i know, myself included, thouroughly enjoyed my youth and retired my party shoes when the time came because we are happy with what we did, where we are, and enjoying the show of the new know-it-alls entertaining us.
What I notice about older women, and as an older woman myself is that we can be hypercritical of younger women's actions; especially when a younger woman's decision seems, "dumb." As older women, we throw rocks, hide our hand and thus have the advantage of hiding our mistakes. We don't offer grace to ourselves nor to younger women while younger women are arrogant without the experience to back it up. Personally, when I see a young women about to make a major mistake, I become angry because it is a waste of their youth and I wish that life offered a do-over for some of my own mistakes.
From what I know, vast majority of older women who I encountered are actually pretty happy. Especially the generation where they started prioritized careers and dreams before marriage, Gen X. In fact, they are the first happier generation, because they are handling their lives, their health, their finances, etc. As a woman in her 30s and including in my 20s as well, this has been my experience. Older ladies are content, relaxing, enjoying their lives, etc. Especially the older ladies who are single and childfree or single and stable financially or truly happily married (and there are a few of these ladies). They also handle the brunt of all the responsibilities, have survived all kinds of situations, and are wiser and more at peace with themselves. In fact, the vast majority of women who are miserable are the women who married in their early teens or early 20s to a 40, 50 year old man who now makes her change his diapers and stay at home for the rest of her life, with no education, no career experience, no help with raising children born from the old men's inferior DNA...

Older women have tried to put youngins on game younger women don’t listen because they are too busy listening to men love bomb them and pit them against one another. It isn’t just older women wasting years you are wasting years being worried about what the next woman is doing and chasing things that bring down your value. Glad the older women spoke up this foolishness needs to stop.
