Do Any Of the New CM Features Actually Work?

- Before FC25 released, there were articles with massive lists of changes that were meant to be in career mode. These articles promised a bunch of changes this year, players should grow & age, theres a ton of new nations to scout & hopefully the AI isn't quite as brain dead when it comes to building squads.
Well, today I’m going to find out if any of this is true. Let’s start by looking at the player aging, because while it sounds small, I think it could actually be quite a big deal.

The squad balancing issue has been a major flaw for years. It kills the game for any save longer than 3-4 seasons.
I remember on fifa 17 I think, Man Utd bought 5 goalkeepers over 80 rated in one transfer window, and Arsenal only had one. So, not being able to resist, I bought their only goalkeeper and they got relegated 😂😂

@TheAWShowUK That is why playing on PC is best. There are several mods that fix career mode and the gameplay.
so another year waiting for moders to fix the "small" actually huge things in career mode
players also grew in previous fifa's from 15 to 16 and ea are re-adding old features saying theyre new yet again...

I exclusively play FIFA single player these days and I just play them when they become free on EA Play each June. Early on there's so many glitches that it's not worth it.

I’ve been looking for games like fifa 22 or 23 to play with mods, so, are you telling me you can have them for free with EA play subscription? Damn, may go with that then, some amazing mods like the 2004 retro FIFA are in 23 and 24 which are 60-70 dollars on steam lol

Let me guess: Greece still uses ancient first names for academy players like they did from 10 FIFAs ago; such as Aristotle, Sander or Isaakios? Those either are stone age or made-up names.
Aristotle must've been honored to be featured on FIFA

Nah, Aristotle is legit. I'm part Greek and I have relatives with names like Pericles, Hercules, Constantine, and Augustus. For real. These old fashioned names are more common than you think.

Love the optimism, but we've been begging ea for years to fix this and they haven't yet.
@@pokezod7832 Yeah, that's not happening, they've been aware of the names being a problem since FIFA 23 and they've done nothing to fix it.
The lack of different last name issues is unacceptable ! EA keeps bragging about how they are using AI. You simply need to ask an AI chatbot to generate a list of names for every nation then copy and paste them. They don't give a damn about Career Mode. I just play Online Seasons and kickoff now.
At least all the Armenians aren't named Kardashian...that would be a real travesty 😂😂😂

Yes is good, e difficult too! Man for the first time i suffer tô play. The simulation Mode in ultimate levei is very dififcult. Im make one cm with united, and suffer a lot
the on the field gameplay has definitely improved but off the field I feel has gotten worse. The new menus in career mode are an absolute disaster. They advertised new deeper tactics but the tactics options are actually fewer
The teams ‘build’ their squads based around the default scouting instructions that they have when you start a career. It’s been the same for years, in fc24 man united had a defensive midfield scouting instruction and they would end up with like 9 different CDMs.
It’s a shame that these things carry over to the new game each year, EA really need to do a ground up rebuild of this game because there’s so many layers of bugs that take away from the game we want it to be
They need to give you a lot more control over everything like NBA2K does, the ability to override transfers(trades) would be a big addition. Just unrealistic when villa and Spurs are signing players like Gavi, pedri, tchouameni. EA always had these HUGE features that are really only meaningless gimmicks or so tedious you never do it.
So are the default scouting instructions of the AI teams randomized each save kind of like retiring players, or are they always the same? You do notice the same players going the same places often in multiple saves and that's been a thing for years going back to FIFA 15 when Ciro Immobile went to Man City in every save I did.
So none of the new features work and it's got all the same problems as the previous games

It doesn't make any sense; they use AI, ML and PCG. There's no reason the AI cannot see the problems a team has even years down the line. If I give ChatGPT a roster of players and their positions, it would definitely identify the weaknesses and suggest ways to improve. Why don't they implement it already? Maybe they're waiting to include it in FC26 so we get hyped for it

yeah tbf i never take the launch version serious itll be october/november before things will be better but i actually have enjoyed this game already which is rare

tbh i believe that career mode is designed to be played for 2-3 season max. Trying to be a quick experience, getting people to play UT.
FYI when you searched for players you searched for 16-35 age range. Maybe they have more depth at older ages?
I think skipping deadline day messes up some teams ability to transfer from what i read on reddit

Am i the only one who thinks that all the youth players look like melted ventriloquist dummies? I started a career mode on it just now and some of those kids would not look out of place in a horror game.

Of course these issues aren’t thaaat big of a deal, but it’ll come down to the same question we ask ourselves every year! HOW HARD can it be? How hard can it be to fix a names list, to fix the squad balancing, etc etc. it’s a joke! Instead new broken things are being added. Btw has anyone seen the Luton town stadium in the game yet? Ah yeah, people waited for that for the entire yeah and nothing got added. It’s a shambles honestly, as it is every year
For height you should put it in meters to see it
I’d like to hope the squad balancing issue might have come from the transfer embargo somehow, but maybe I’m being optimistic 😂
How long after a new fifa comes out does it usually take for mods that expand the name pools and increase the number of national teams to come out? And would there be any mod that improves how AI teams behave in the transfer market?
In fairness some of these thinga could be bugged, it is release week after all. Not saying it's acceptable but it's possible.
I did notice a small difference, the player's face looked a little fuller at 22. Or maybe it was just the angle and it was actually exactly the same 😂. Nothing would surprise me with EA. In fairness i fully expected the players to morph into hideous monster and alien looking things, so maybe no change is good.
When taking over a national squad I couldn’t find national team sheet where you can pick what players to be called up and dropped ?
What about live start points and does it has real injuries
So, so far I've had more fun playing fc24. I keep getting frustrated with trying to set up tactics in fc25, I found it more user friendly in fc24. I am also not use to how they set up the menus in fc25 yet.
I’ll mark the countries with single names as must avoid.
What about the game play problems they have every single year: wingers not tracking back, lazy CDMs, poor tackling and ridiculous dribbling/passing skills for the opponent?
They fix or add stupid things while the big problems that really affect our joy from the game are being left behind
Not every player turns up when you look teams up on the transfer market so i think you need to double check this information before saying they have fewer players than they might
love your content but the youth stuff is a bit of a spoiler for me cause I thought they would grow beards get more muscle or different hairstyles as they grow . hope it does change tho

It's not going to change, EA doesn't care about career mode,.. just save your money and buy it on Christmas for $10..

Well, I must admit that the feature being completely broken and doing nothing not only doesn't really surprise me, it actually is somewhat fortunate compared to what I thought might happen with it. After seeing some of the monstrosities people created with the face editor, I thought there was a chance after a few seasons your youth players might end up resembling Frankensteins monster 😂
In all honesty none of these will matter that much if the gameplay isn't good, it's great to have these new features but if the gameplay is still broken it will not take long for it to become unplayable
The gameplay is fine.
I liked what it was in the Beta but just wait until Ultimate Team players complain about it

i scouted players from Tonga and Eswatini and they all had the same last names Tonga ONLY had Lima and Eswatini had Nkosi.
They literally could’ve posted on Reddit and asked for someone to give them a list of names from countries and they would’ve done it. Instead they half-assed it

I don't think you showed the youth academy aging very well at all. I do agree that 16-21 should show some change in body type and facial structure, as they are training through those years and eating healthily to solidify their footballing careers, but I think you should have simmed for more than 2 hours. If EA pushed this as a feature, I seriously doubt they'd stop aging at 16. 16 compared to 25 or 26 might show more differences since that's closer to the player's prime.
I do take issue with the squad building; why can't these huge companies look at the work of modders and implement it into their own code? Not worth paying a programming team for an extra few weeks? Ugh.

The menus are horrible and so is the gameplay. I do like that career mode is finally more detailed, but they only did half the job right

Great, now none of my players in my youth academy save will have beards… such a dumb thing that ppl complained about “they have beards it’s not realistic!” Yeah neither is taking Morecambe to the champions league but use your imagination! Now all of my players will be pushing 30 with 0 facial hair 😑 I knew it wouldn’t be that way. Also, IGN is terribly inaccurate these days!
