I been watching tons of videos on macrame everyone says "don't run out of rope" but never say if you do...do this. Thank you so much this was very very helpful.
You are a born teacher ! Clear, to the point, repetetive. I love your teaching AND all the different knots you teach ! Thank you so much and could you please review how to estimate cord lengths please ? I can estimate the total cordage but I could use help please in dividing total cordage into separate cord lengths , and how many cords I'll need to use - thank you :)
Whereas I, on the other hand, found this great tip 2 days after I finished my project with noticeable cord joins...ah, to untie or knot to untie, that is the question :)
5:06 I knew to watch only YOUR video (again) when I couldn't remember how to do this. Thanks AGAIN for all your help! I have counted on your calm, understanding voice many times over the years! I'm up in years (67), so I will use my age as an excuse, lol. I wish you many blessings!
Wow, I spent about 2 hours working off a web photo, because a video disappeared off UA-cam!!!!! I have figured my project out but I ran out of cord, hahaha... You have helped me, a bunch !!!! Thank you so much, you are the best, twelvety :) xxx
Thank you! I’ve referred a couple people to this video when they have had issues making their projects. I can’t figure out how to feature your channel on my channel otherwise I would! Keep up the great work!
This is so helpful! Thank you! I'm making a macrame owl for a friend and doubled the amount of rope I put on my dowel to double the width of the piece without realizing that I would also need to double the length of my rope if I also wanted to double the length of the piece.
Thankyou i started a tuturial followed instructions but wasnt told if you run out of rope... so thanks to you for helping me as this is first time for me..
Could you just leave those two short ones in when you wrap the new cord around instead of leaving them out and then they would already be tucked in ? Or would that be too bulky and weird ? Also thank you for sharing the video that helps a ton 😊
One more request : I have so much trouble with the 1st double half hitch on a wall hanging. I want a straight line of the half hitch knots first thing but I can't get a 1st knot to sit nicely : please help ?
When you were out of your rope to the second instruction where the two leftover strings were in the center of your project. It looked like when you added the new rope that you didn't include the two strands of rope when you made your macrame knots but left those two short pieces out of it and let it hang from behind is this correct? You did a fine job!!!
Yes, that is correct. The short pieces (the cords I ran out of) hang behind the new cord and you should be able to tuck them in the back so they stay hidden.
I am working on a dolls skirt and needed to add more strings. I have a old macrame book and did what they did I am disappointed at the way it looks. I added between two square knots the lark head is visible. Do you have any suggestions? I hope I explained enough for you to understand. Thank you hope you can help.
I am having a difficult time with attaching additional ropes. I just don’t understand. Can you please do another video that shows how it’s done only slower and zoomed in some? Thank you
Hi, You Tube has inbuilt setting for adjusting video speed. If you click the 3 dots on the top right you get option for 'Playback Speed' - by default it is set at Normal. You can decrease the speed by clicking on Normal and then choosing 0.75x or lower as you wish. Also for zoom you can watch using theater mode (small broken square icon at the bottom right) works on both phone and computer.
I been watching tons of videos on macrame everyone says "don't run out of rope" but never say if you do...do this.
Thank you so much this was very very helpful.
Thank you! I worked the old strands into the back of the next knots, clipped & dabbed fabric glue to the clipped spot. I'm so glad you posted this!
Omg you just saved my wedding arch backdrop. This is incredible 😅😍
Thank you! This is the only tutorial of about five that I was able to follow!
So simple and explained beautifully! Other tutorials I’ve watched were so confusing for some reason. Thank you!!!
I agree
This is so helpful Cathy! As a newbie in macramé, you just saved us from restarting our projects! 😅 Thank you ☺️ 😘

This just saved me from having to untie and restart my entire project 😩 thank you so much!!

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!! you just saved my entire project !!!!
I trim back rope about 1/4" & then add hot glue to each end mesh together & roll it back & forth right before hot glue dries.
This is so helpful! Thank you! I'm making a macrame owl for a friend and doubled the amount of rope I put on my dowel to double the width of the piece without realizing that I would also need to double the length of my rope if I also wanted to double the length of the piece.

How do you attach extra cords when it’s the middle cords that need lengthening.
Nice!
