- It's been a while since Ron Coleman joined our other miners to dig crystals. It's a fun video to watch. Josh Coleman, Ron's grandson, is also in the video. Ron Coleman Mining is 5 generations strong. We are commited to sustainability.
Our miners ethically dig for quartz that we sell to our visitors, wholesale customers, online at www.colemanquartz.com/collections, at the Mineral & Fossil Co-Op during the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, at Prospectors Panorama during the Quartzsite Show. Email your questions to sales@roncolemanmining.com.
Though the part of the property shown in this video is not open to the public. You can dig your own crystals in the public digging area, zip-line over the mine, take a behind the scenes crystal mine tour, shop our expanded gift shop and stay at our on-property campground, Crystal Ridge RV Park and tiny home rentals.
What a dream come true that must be. Thank you for sharing. You get to see the actual hard work that goes into finding these incredible crystals.
Just simply priceless!! If only you would allow special digs for hobbyists like me who value the experience of digging a cluster of crystals like that. I’ve been visiting your mine for the past 12 years hoping to find that special cluster….❤
Awesome clusters! Especially the one with the long point in the back!
A remarkable pocket with some fabulous crystals! Thanks for the great video.
How amazing to be able to see an actual quartz pocket seam opened up! What an experance!
I was there in 1993- and had a great time. I'd arrived early, and some of the miners invited me to sit with them at breakfast at the cafe on site. It was my only vacation during the 17 years in Central Texas, and had driven up there in August in a car without AC- so when the kind lady at the gas station in Jesseville opened up the hotel for me, I was so thankful. the Ron Coleman mine was my first stop on my 3 day Montgomery County crystal adventure- and all of my stops were great. The biggest points I found were at your mine- including about a 4 inch long, 1.5 inch wide double term slightly smoky piece. Also a large tip that had broken off of the shaft completely, but still nifty, being the size of my palm. I still have great memories of that vacation !
What an amazing seam full of beautiful crystals! What an awesome experience, and I'm glad Ron got to dig some crystals himself after two years of not doing it.
WOW! What a fantastic seam! I'm so jealous!
Wow!! Beautiful!! That looks like so much fun!! I’d love to do this with my daughter before she decides it’s not cool to spend time with her Momma! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I still can't get over the one Ron pulled out that we get a better shot of at 8:24. Fantastic!!
Wow! Those are massive! I have to share this❤
So cool that you took the time to get this on video, thanks!
amazing crystals!
Thank you!
My God, there is a ton of great crystals in this "pocket" !
OMG - they're Stunning!
💎💕💎💕💎
good to see Ron in the hole and not in quartzite! So much knowledge and experience to be passed onto our younger generations~
I like to be in good holes too.
The geology of that area of Arkansas and the conditions that allowed Quartz Crystals to develop is as amazing to learn about as digging out some beautiful clusters. I would like to know if this area is open to the public...I do not think it is.
You are correct. Our miners are only allowed in the commercial mine. We do have a mine tour that drives up to the commercial mine. I agree, the beauty of Arkansas quartz, the geology and history of quartz mining in Arkansas is fascinating
@@ColemanQuartz Thank you for your quick response. Way back in the early 90's, I brought my two children to your area and there was a State Park camping grounds on the lake. To reach it, I drove past your business...coming from Hot springs...and after a few miles past your place took a left, and down the road a few miles, on the left, was the entrance to get to the camp site but also a small marina that was there. I do not know if the camp site or the marina is still there. Does any of this sound familiar to you ?
Anyway.....the camp site was right on the shore of Lake Ouachita...and we would find small single points of crystals just laying on the ground. The kids had fun finding them...like Easter egg hunting...lol. I rented a little aluminum fishing boat at that marina and on the right side of the arm of the lake and before it opened out into the lake proper, there was a very steep part of the land that extended down into the water. It was real steep, about a 60 degree slope or more, very slippery footing, scary in fact, but we found many real nice and good sized points and a lot of small clusters just waiting to be picked up...perfectly clear. We had a blast...!!
I still have a few of the crystals...I gave many away. Ever since that Summer, I have wanted to come back, and either at your place, or at one of the many smaller private mines in the area, come do some serious digging. Quartz crystals are my favorite mineral.
Thanks again for your response.
@@marbleman52 it may be North Shores Marina. I've only heard of it. I certainly know and love Lake Ouachita. Come on back for a visit!
@@ColemanQuartz North Shore Marina, thanks. I'll look it up and see if that's the one. The closest I have been since way back then was in about 2010 when my daughter ( one of my kids mentioned earlier ) , who was living with me here near Batesville, brought her own daughter who was about 6, to Hot Springs and I tagged along. We didn't get a chance to come out to your big store. Hopefully soon I will be able to come do some serious crystal digging.
Awesome finds!!
Thank you ❤️
Omg i would love to come to your mine and just to get one giant crystal or a cluster. Im 65 and a great granny been a rockhound all my life. Went crystal digging in No. calif and No Nevada. I now live in Northeastern Montana. Agate country but Crystals are my favorite. My daughters name is Crystal Rose. She always says i named her after a rock but she was name for the Crystal Range of the Sierra Mountains. Lol Im guessing your clusters are pretty expensive to buy? Boy i sure love to have a piece. Just stunning
Thank you. We would love for you to visit. We sell clusters during our Facebook Live At The Mine event that is held bi-weekly. The next Live will be on Saturday, October 21st at 7 pm CST. Follow us on Facebook, click you are attending the event and you will receive a notification when we go live.
Great looking stuff. I'll see ya during the eclipse! (You'll film it even if I can't make it for some coupcoup reason.)
Muito bonito parabéns
Vídeo lindo
Sungguh kristal yang besar, betapa bahagianya saya jika berada di sana
I surprisee they didnt want to secure the one side wall and make leave it as one giant display piece
I see. Tag, you're it. 😮
😮 wow ❤ giga szczotki 😂❤
My back hurts watching these guy lift like they are doing.
Where is this mine at and can the public mine?
It’s in Arkansas. We have a tailings digging area for the public.
What are Thay good for? Quarts is the most abundant mineral there is.
Reiki, home decor, jewelry and more
So what gets put into the dump trucks for the public dig?
They must move dirt to get to a pocket.
Please check out our Facebook page to see photos of guests and their finds. Of course, many people choose not to be photographed.
@@ColemanQuartz I've been there, spent days with yall
Found nothing like what yall present at gem shows.
My question is, since I've seen video of yall mining, where's the dirt coming from and do you mix tailings in with dirt to charge us to go through it ll day?
@@jimbo5560 the commercial miners collect material in the commercial mine and deliver it to the tailings area.
@@ColemanQuartz they don't mix tailings with dirt????????
I've seen video of the "commercial mine" & not much dirt coming out.... And
I've seen what's at the gem shows
My question is simple
Do you mix trainings with dirt
And if no wheres this dirt with tailings even coming from
Omg. You are literally destroying a foundation put here by the gods of creation
We appreciate your comment but, respectfully disagree. There is no destroying. We are very careful to ensure this mine to produce at least another one hundred years. We very much appreciate God's creation.
