  • What's up guys! Jeff from Sorta Healthy here!
    Today, we're showing A Day In The Life of a Personal Trainer. Admittedly, I do a fair amount more than just personal training.
    I also have to run my small business (two small businesses if you count this UA-cam channel), exercise, clean my facility, hang with my dog...really there's a whole bunch of things that always need to get done!
    My goal with this day in the life video is to give personal trainers an idea of what a full day of work looks like. There aren't too many good representations of the full-time personal trainer lifestyle anywhere online, and we're always trying to fill that void. It's a strange and tough life but we're all about it!
    Anyways, hopefully all of you guys enjoy seeing a pretty typical day in my life and hopefully you find it helpful as well!

    Jeff, Thank you for this video and all of the great content you and Alexis produce. I am a brand new CPT and I just got my first client. It's a non-paid client, so I can practice, but a client is a client. All of the information in your videos and on your website have been invaluable. Also, the Zoa drinks are not my favorite, but the Built bars are dangerously delicious. Thank you again for all y'all do!

      Thank you for the support and kind words! We really appreciate that! I’m glad you’re finding everything helpful!
      Haha ya the ZOA was only ok. I don’t hate them, but I’m certainly not loving them either. The built bars are definitely a solid choice though!

    man built bars are amazing... the first 6 seconds of each bite, then the remaining 30 seconds it takes to break down the unflavored taffy lollllll

      What would you say are some of your challenges as a personal trainer? I work out quite a bit and wanted to look into becoming a PT.

    So at what time do you fully workout on your fitness goals? Or u just do low intensity cardio every day?

      We still manage to fit in 3-4 lifting days a week. We always lift on Saturday and Sunday. We also do have some slower days throughout the week as well.

    Great video! I do hour long sessions (well, 55 minutes to give 5 min between) including a 5-10 minute warm up, 40ish min workout, and 5 min stretching. Have you always done 45 minutes? Do you prefer that because you can do more sessions? Thanks!

    • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
      @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! I’ve done hour long sessions in the past as well. When I was working in a few gyms early on, that’s just how they did all they’re training.
      I think 45 min sessions are way better. You get more sessions done. You can charge a bit less and still make a good amount of cash. I also never really feel like I don’t have enough time. It’s just better in my opinion.

      @@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation thanks for the help! So do you designate the time slots? Because I currently do sessions on the hour but I’m not sure how I would structure it if I did 45 minutes. Would I designate when each timeslot is? Aka is it 12-12:45? Of 12:15-1?

    • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
      @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation  2 роки тому +1

      @@devinmcnamara5025 ya it’s basically time slots. The first appointment of the day is 5am, then it’s 5:45am, 6:30am, and so on.

    • @devinmcnamara5025
      @devinmcnamara5025 2 роки тому

      @@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation cool, do you have people do their own scheduling on their own time? Because I currently either lock people in for certain times (if they can commit weekly) or just schedule them a week out based on their availability for the coming week.

    • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
      @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation  2 роки тому

      @@devinmcnamara5025 Sorry for the delayed response! We book people for the following week/have most people locked into time slots although we do have our calendar open so people can book consultations online.

    Do you have that many clients everyday? Those are long hours..

    • @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
      @SortaHealthyTrainerEducation  Рік тому

      Not everyday, but many days. I’m trying to offload sessions to other trainers that I work with, but it’s a slow process!
