    great story and this why we can't let negative experiences cause us to be hard. If we stay soft wonderful experience will easily come into our lives. Thanks for this!

      my goal is to stay soft...vulnerable has been beat up in the vocab world a lot. You won't get hit by balls flying through the air if you run away...but you won't catch anything either...safe, but sure not exciting. ;)

    • @RajivNathan
      @RajivNathan 10 років тому

      C.E. O. I like that metaphor. What do you mean by stay soft?

    • @c.e.o.8961
      @c.e.o.8961 10 років тому

      well...negative experiences are going to happen and when we get hurt it is naturel to harden. Or to build up a defense so that it doesn't happen again. It is possible to be soft and savvy at the same time...but it will mean risk and letting yourself feel. The real problem is folks only want to feel good and if you don't feel good...there's a pill for that.

      C.E. O. well said. It's important to experience our emotions, acknowledge them, and do something as a result.

    Nicely done Raj! Awesome story about the hulk. Great reminder about giving everyone a chance and not placing people into boxes. Strange how it seems our default human way of thinking is to do this. I also like the fact that you brought up how the most successful people all fail at some point, often multiple times. Everyone knows the success stories, but to get to that point, it's wise to understand that it takes failure first.

      Thanks John! Definitely--nothing that really means something to you comes easy. You've got to work for what you want, and that involves having some struggles, but it makes the outcome that much sweeter.

      Hi Rajiv, I am so glad you asked! I actually talked to the mirror as I was enjoying that portion of the exercise. This is my statement, "I WILL BE helping people with their goal towards the state of a happy life and reach financial freedom BECAUSE I AM a life changer and I am good at it!"

    • @RajivNathan
      @RajivNathan 10 років тому

      joy lumanog that's great! Love it! I don't want to make any assumptions, so in what way will you be helping people? Financial planning?

    • @livebetterwithjoy
      @livebetterwithjoy 10 років тому

      Great question. I am now on skin care business that is also leading to financial freedom... CEO and founder is Jeff Olson. You must recognize him. Feel free to visit my blog at repairmyskinwithjoy.blogspot.com and my product website repairmyskinwithjoy.nerium.com The vision mission is to "Make People Better" by not only feeling and looking good but also helping people financially in this awesome business model both for customers and brand partners - per "Nerium Gives Back" program. ;-) Check it out and I would be happy to answer more. It is a culture of inspiration. For me, it is instrumental to the experience of happiness and success.

      +Rajiv Nathan ,
      Great message. I have been practicing this method in getting through my health situation -- also life situations in general. I feel that with these "Ted Talks" -- the best ones have the least amount of views because of the urge to click on a video based on views and title. Wonderful, really wonderful (+)

    Great Speech on TEDx Rajiv. My name is Pablo I have one question? I struggle with criticism and being vulnerable by my inner circle, close friends and family. For example, my partner and I discuss alot of things in college about my work and his. He has been in college for a few more years than i have so he may know a little more than what i may know, its only obvious regarding class. He tends to be confident when he attempts to critic my work and study, even in personal life but i end up getting defensive and taking it personal. I'm not sure if you can help me but if you know a little something that'll be great. But, this is something that i am aware of and want to fix. Any tips on how i can fix this, or a TED video that may help me? Thanks in advance!

      Rajiv Nathan That's really kind to answer me :)
      In fact I'd like to have a great year in my new university, I'm pretty shy but as you've said I always try to speak with new people, and I feel vulnerable but so much happy afterwards. Then I want to get involved (like taking part to activities like sports or clubs) and do more and more things to live well these 5 years that are coming !

    • @RajivNathan
      @RajivNathan 10 років тому

      IThinkIReallyLikeIt great goal! I can tell you that it's best to get involved in as much as possible. You can always drop the things you don't like. No one ever graduated saying "I regret being too involved in college", but unfortunately many people graduate saying, "I wish I got more involved in college". Good luck at uni!
