Just got the T2 on the recommendation after watching this video. Have had the T1 for about a year and didn’t think it could get any better. The T2 is so much more responsive and dynamic and the colors are truer. I don’t know how I watched TV before I found Govee!!! ❤
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Glad its working out well for you and I agree!! Lol I'm so used to it now that if I ever turn it off, it just feels weird lol.
Thanks for the review, I was going to buy the T2 last week until I read the amazon reviews which I don't normally pay attention to when it comes to tech stuff but this would be my first Govee product so yea...
Thanks for watching! Yeah they don't have the best reviews so far but I think its maybe because at least for me, it did take a little more time for me (compared to the T1) to dial in the settings to get it to the point where I was really impressed. I try not to read too much into amazon reviews. if I'm potentially interested in something, I'll buy it (as long as it has free returns) and if I don't love it after setting things up and playing around with it, I just simply return it.
Absolutely amazing. Would love to see more examples of it in action with something like Racing games, Flight sim games, stuff of that sort where the stuff you are moving past would simulate in the lights. Would also like to see it in a room set up symmetrical in nature, Love seat / Theater chair in the center, lights down both walls, behind you and the TV / PC screen. The anime and cartoon stuff is neato too. I can see kids falling in love with this setup. I know my boys would have adored this when they were at their "TV is SO cool" stage bouncing/dancing in their walkers or little bouncing chairs.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Those are some great ideas to try! I'm sure this wont be the last tv backlight product I test out so i'll keep those ideas in mind! It really is fun to watch/play different things with the setup. Never gets old! Lol and my kids do love it!
This is exactly what I had envisioned when I purchased my Govee gear. I have the T1 dream view Immersion kit with two lamps. Was hoping to sync all to the movie aspect, but lamps can't communicate with T1
Thanks so much for watching! Thats interesting. I wonder where the issue is coming from. Lamps or T1. I would reach out to govee on that one to see what they say. us.govee.com/pages/contact-us
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah, I have a diffuser channel from muzata. They perfectly diffuse the lights when using something that at least has 60/leds per meter. Here is the video I made going over this more: ua-cam.com/video/XhMnKVqAIWw/v-deo.html
Can you do an updated video with the updated app and different compatible devices? I was to believe by the GOVEE app that the Neon Rope Light 2 was compatible, however I set it up and it’s not :/
They would work great for under cabinet lighting but being that the cut points of the Govee M1 are I believe every 1.5 feet, you might run into issues if your trying to cut them to perfectly fit your setup. Might be better off using something where you can cut after every led so that you get the perfect fit. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! I hope they stick to the camera by the way, maybe with a smaller module. Having a Syncbox means that you - are bound to use it only with HDMI peripherals - you are likely to not get that 4k 120hz on the newest consoles
Thanks for watching! For sure some advantages to the camera as you pointed out! If I had to choose one over the other right now, I would also go with the camera!
yes but why does it have to be a big ugly dildo at the top of the screen???????????? They could easily make it a camera that is in front of the tv, or across the room pointed at the TV so its out of sight....
Also the syncbox only works when the source is an external device connected to the TV. So apps on the TV such as UA-cam, Roku, Prime etc will not sync with the lights since the TV itself is a source in the case of apps. Additionally, since the all of the external devices must be connected to the TV using the sync box as a pass through, there maybe some input lag. Especially when playing fast pace console games.
I'm so back and forth on getting the t2. Currently have the t1, but reviews are saying it's not the big of an upgrade to move from t1 to t2. I have the money for it, but I dont wanna feel like I wasted my money getting it.
Yeah it's a tough call. I certainly do think it's better but we are almost at the point of it being like upgrading your iphone. Is it a better phone? Sure. But is it a huge difference? No. It would be nice if govee had a trade in program where you could send the old one back and get the new one for like half off. That would be nice!
@@ChrisMaherDIY yeah I mean I would definitely be more comfortable getting it if govee would communicate more often and guaranteed t2 will be getting more updates with the software and the app, but who knows. I know the color display is still bad, but in dark scenes the t1 is bad with showing like purple and somtime a green hue when it should be black. Does the t2 improve on this? I know you had a small segment in your video, but if it really does improve that, then I'd upgrade just for that alone haha.
@@paulcipriano5807 it's still not perfect but I do think it's better. You might just have to try it and if it's not what your wanting, send it back. Gotta love Amazon's return policy! I have a Kohl's like 7 minutes from my house which is one of the no label no package drop off locations lol.
@@ChrisMaherDIY a huge reason I wanted to get the t2 was if it is better, I'd want the best experience while playing God of War Ragnarok when it releases lol. I know eventually I'll get the t2, because why not get something that's a tad better than what you have? I just hope they don't release a better version of the t2 and you'd have to replace the old t2 instead of being able to update it.
Hi. I have question. I have T1 model leds for tv. I would love to power them via tv usb to power lights on and off with tv. Can you suggest what kind of ac to usb cable I should buy from amazon? I see have 5v and 5v to 12v with converter for sale. Im bad with voltage things and wouldn’t want to damage my tv or lights. Is there any suggestion how could I do that? Thanks in advance 👏
Thanks so much for watching and thats a great question! I'm not even sure myself on that one. Maybe someone thats reading can chime in if they know what we would need to do that!
So you don't have to connect it with an hdmi cable from the control box to the tv? And are all of govees stuff compatible or just certain things? I've been wanting this so bad, and now they have a new version, so glad I waited.
Thanks for watching! No control box with the Govee setup. The camera simply captures whatever is on the tv so you can keep everything the exact same as you do now. Its nice how simple it is as long as you don't mind the camera! I'm used to it by now so I don't even notice it!
Thanks so much for watching and great question! It for sure is! This is the video I made of syncing things up using the T1: ua-cam.com/video/ztXyVUYvHSg/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for watching! That is correct! You can hook up any other compatible govee product with the t2 dreamview mode and set it to sync with the tv. In my experience, most of their newer type products (around the last 2 years) are compatible.
Feedback would be helpful. I am using Govee M1 with Muzata diffusers. I am running it horizontally from the top of the door frame to the top of window frame. There is 1 interior 90 degree I will do and it all is about 1 foot from the ceiling. A single length starting at top of door frame, running horizontally to room corner, then remaining horizontal until it reaches the top corner of window frame. The entire distance is 16' 8", but the length of a Govee M1 is 16' 4". Could I give a 2" buffer at start and finish inside the Muzata diffuser and have it look okay? Would soldering 4" be that big an improvement? Plus I would actually need to buy another Govee strand to do it. I plan on getting more in the future, but at the moment I don't have it and would need to buy more just to cut 4" and solder on. Anyways, before I get myself frustrated, I was wondering if that 2 inches at start and finish would be ugly AF? I do not want to use the sticky tape and have to pull it up on the entire length later on to fix it.... Also, a video for you might be how to decorate with them. Things you have seen, ideas, concepts, etc? Basically, you might be able to get a few more vids out by describing, demonstating, etc, tasteful ways to use them. TBH, most rooms I see have way to many LED strips and look like LED vomit, but your builds have as many LED and look amazing. So that visually affirms that how you use LED matters.
I have the t2 and bought the 15 inch RGBIC tv light bars, Do you know if they can sync together? I’m having trouble getting them to sync in dreamview. Thanks.
Thanks so much for watching and great question! I don't know why it would not be compatible but I also have not played around with the light bars much. Did the tv light bars come with a camera as well? If your not getting any answers, might be a good one for Govee support: us.govee.com/pages/contact-us
Thanks so much for watching! it took a good amount of tweaking but the white balance is closer to the left and the saturation is around 17% Those were the settings that gave me the best accuracy on my tv. The biggest things though for me was to have my tv on its bright/vivid setting. That helped a good amount. And finally I think the brightness of the T2 i have set to around 50%. That's what I used!
Thanks so much for watching and great question! I still have not played around with the sync music box yet so i'm not 100% sure of all the capabilities. I'm pretty sure though at least for the dreamview experience that i'm using in this video, the max number of govee products you can sync together is 5 at this time. Maybe that will increase down the road with software updates but thats the max right now.
Thanks so much for watching and you certainly can! I made a video not too long ago of doing exactly that with the T1. Here is that video: ua-cam.com/video/ztXyVUYvHSg/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for watching! I did give it thought but I wouldn't do it. I don't think it would turn out very good or accurate. I could be wrong but that's just my initial thoughts. It would be nice if they made it so you could cut it for an exact fit!
Thanks so much for watching and great question! So I always just keep it turned on. When the tv is off there is just a slight glow coming from behind the tv but when the tv turns on, it will automatically start mirroring the screen. I also believe you can simply use voice commands to turn it on or off as well.
Thanks so much for watching! Great question. I'm not 100% sure since I have not tested this out yet but I don't see why not. I think you could just unplug the lights that come with the T2 and I would assume everything would still work and you could then just set up the M1 like normal in dreamview. If I get around to testing this out, I'll let you know! Thanks!
Was it hard to remove the LED Strip from the T1 setup? Do u have any recommendations as to how to do it the easiest way possible so I can use the T1 strip again and just reinstall it on me bedroom setup?
Thanks for watching and that's a good question! I think I have heard from others that It has worked. But as long as you order off amazon, free returns if it doesn't work out!
I have a T2 kit on both my 77" LG C1 and 77" LG C2 and the camera attaches and stays in place perfectly on both models! The T2 camera was designed with a folding counterweight system. Once you get it balanced in place it doesn't move!
We are planning on having our to set back in a ‘media wall’ style setup. Would the ‘camera’ work being set underneath a shelf, rather than on top of a tv? It will probably be 100mm ish higher than where the camera is normally situated.
The camera does work from underneath (i tested this out) and you can have it sitting on something. I hope they will add the software to make this a little simpler but when you have the camera at the bottom, all the setting and setup process is pretty much reversed. This guy did a great review on it ua-cam.com/video/Oitv6MAXQAM/v-deo.html
@@ChrisMaherDIY thanks. I would be planning on hiding the camera inside a shelf that is above the tv. But the additional video was helpful, as it shows that it will still work not being directly attached to the tv.
How would you compare this to the philips hue sync box. I know one advantage of the govee is that it does not use HDMI to sync the colors and uses a camera instead of an HDMI sync box like the philips. This also means the philips cannot sync to apps natively on the tv like youtube or hulu since the box requires a source to be connected to the sync box but the source itself is a TV so the lights can't sync.
Very cool but one major issue that still detracts me from getting this is the noticeable amount of lag. The lights always seem to be about half a second behind the colors on the TV. This is not an issue if you just want this for ambience while listening to a music video but when watching an action movie or playing a game, it can be distracting seeing those lights always trying to catch up to what had already happened on the screen.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Yeah even though many claim that there is zero lag, it still does appear to the eye that there is. I watched this video a while back which I thought was very interesting on this topic. Maybe you would enjoy it like I did! ua-cam.com/video/YjobxBdRxRU/v-deo.html
@@ChrisMaherDIY I've watched it. That's a really good video that helps better understand why there is a perception of lag. So my takeaway is that the lag is caused by there being a delay between the transitions. The initial color appears to be in-sync with the screen but then for the consecutive colors is where there is a lag. Each color lingers around for too long. To me that strikes me as an issue with the software more so than the hardware. Which means it could be easily rectified via a patch.
On my t2, the top right and bottom left corners there’s light when screen is black. Also, on the top right area it’s not showing the colors as much. Do you know what the issue is and how I can fix it?
Thanks so much for watching! I did a video on cutting/reconnecting the Govee M1 which is what I used in the video: ua-cam.com/video/0w4SgpVoWtU/v-deo.html
Is there anyway to rig the camera to the bottom instead of top? I could see that being a lot cleaner look, especially if you have a soundbar or something in front of the camera to make it even more hidden. If not a native way to install on bottom, could the installation just be reversed by the user since the camera is just looking for a rectangle? Maybe running the camera and wires upside down could allow you to reverse the mapping in the app. I'm definitely considering this when the larger screen version is in stock, but I would have to have it at the bottom to not upset other people in the house lol
You for sure can still do it underneath but at the time they dont have the software to select that as an option so you just have to pretty much select the opposite settings since everything is upside down. It still works perfect underneath! This guy did a great video on the process: ua-cam.com/video/Oitv6MAXQAM/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for watching and great question! Unfortunatly I still have not found any connectors that fit the Govee M1. There are a lot of connectors I found that have 4 pins but are only for led strips that are 10mm wide. The govee M1 is 12mm wide. So I just soldered everything. Here is the video where I go over cutting up the M1: ua-cam.com/video/0w4SgpVoWtU/v-deo.html
@@ChrisMaherDIY wow that’s a lot of work! Great stuff. It’s a shame Govee and owners doesn’t include a few ‘separators’ to allow a proper 90 degree turn
Thanks so much for watching! For the tv backlight kits, I would say the T1 is a great place to start if you dont want to spend the extra money on the T2. Otherwise if you just want an led strip, the new Govee M1 is awesome!
Thanks so much for watching and great question! There are a lot of their products that can be added. In my previous video I synced some hexa panels, the lyra floor lamp and the govee glide: ua-cam.com/video/ztXyVUYvHSg/v-deo.html I would say the majority of their products the past 2 years will sync with dream view!
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Here is the video I believe you are wanting! Its probably my favorite to test immersion setups! ua-cam.com/video/hOymzpel2rs/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for watching! Is this the one? I know a few others have asked about this one and its one of the best for testing a setup like this: ua-cam.com/video/hOymzpel2rs/v-deo.html
I have a question and I really really hope I can get some help here. I already contacte Govee, but they fail to give me a useful answer. I have a T2 Light on my TV and Now I want tro add ten meters of LED strip to the wall and assign segments to the strip so that it replicates what the camera sees. However, I don´t know if i should buy two 5 meter strips or one 10 meter strip. Govee cannot tell me if it makes a difference in the amount of segments I can control with the app. Also, can I get any Govee RGBIC strip or or there differences when I want to use them for Dreamview/ Ambilight? Thanks!
Love your reviews. Answered everything I needed to know about cutting the m1 lights n using sections in dream view Finally thinking of ditching my hue lights. These look amazing on video I’m sure even better in person. One question do you decide the sections by activating the lights into the sections you need and marking it from there so you can cut it
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! Glad you liked the video! I was wondering if I should cover exactly what your wondering in the video but I decided to not get that technical. So I did not do what you are mentioning. I just cut them and lived with where the app decided the sections were. If I were to do it again, I would not cut the strip and test things out with dreamview first to see how many leds corresponded with the 6 zones you can assign and then make the cuts from there. I hope that the breaks would be at specific cut points but being that the cut points are every .5 meters, i'm not 100% sure if it would work out that smoothly. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks so much for watching. A lot of people don't like having something hanging off their tv just from a looks standpoint. I personally don't mind and you get used to it and really don't even notice it but I understand some people just really don't like the look.
Thanks so much for watching! That's a good question! I know they use Bluetooth as well but I would imagine there would have to be some wifi component for them to work. I could be wrong but maybe someone else reading might know for sure and can chime in!
Thanks so much for watching! You could use these on a 48" tv but i'm not sure how good it would look as you would have to someone find a way to hide some of the extra led strip. Maybe if someone else is reading this and knows of a workaround they could chime in! A few others have mentioned that the ambivision pro brand allows you to cut strips to size so might be worth checking them out.
Thanks so much for watching and great question! I have not tried it so I could be wrong but i've been told it would not. I would be curious to know though if anyone has actually tried it. I'm not sure a projection screen would be bright enough for the camera to pick up on the colors (not to mention that most projection screens are bigger than the max 85 inches that Govee makes for the t2. There is however a program out there called hyperion that I really want to check out which does apparently work for projectors!
Thanks so much for watching! Most of their products can sync but not all of them. I would say for the most part the majority of the things they have come out with the past couple years can.
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah you for sure can use it at the bottom. I was going to point you in the direction of the same video that Moez posted below. That guy has some great videos!
Hi Chris, I have a question I have the DreamView T1 Pro and I want to add to the other wall 2x1,5m(each side of the bed 1,5m) led strip connected to the T1, how I have to do that, thx mate
You should be able to go into the dream view settings on the T1 to add a device and you should then be able to find the M1 that you wish to add and set up. It should be pretty much identical to how I set up the Govee M1 in this video! Thanks for watching!
I have had the T2 for a couple weeks now and I don't notice the Camera. It took my wife a couple of days to notice it was installed. Being on an 85" TV it gets lost in the action. :)
Lol that's hilarious! But yeah I'm with ya. I really don't notice it much at all. My wife would also probably not even realize its there. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
I love Govee products. I have the T1 on my Sony for 3 years now and love the RGB lights. I did have to put a littel plastic filter on the camera lens to cut out the TV light. The lights are now much more realistic to the picture. Do you think the T2 needs a littel filter as wel ??? Thankyou for showing these great images and the matching colours. I really one buy this next version. But I'm afraid the quality isn't improved enough for the price. What do you think ? Is is worth the price enough
I've head of people doing the filter! Do you notice a big difference?! I never did that on the T1. I would say if your more than happy with the T1, then maybe wait it out. I do notice a difference but like you said, its not a night and day difference. I thought the T1 was great and I think the T2 is a little bit better. I wish they had a trade in program lol
@@jakedylan7055 You take some plastic 3 D glasses you get from movie theatre. You push out the black glas and cut out small oval like cirkel big enough to cover the Govee camera lens. I used some tape to stick it all together. Done. The colour output is of course less because the camera is wearing sunglasses. But the big difference is the light input from the TV. That is far less and there for the RGB colours are only appearing if the screen colours are bright enough. It's a littel bit of a trade. But I hate wrong colours matching from screen to RGB led. Very distracting and takes me out of the movie/game. So with the sunglasses the camera isn't overexposed with light from the screen and only sees the prominent colours. I hope it works for you as well. Let us know. If you have the glasses then it's a 5 min build.
@@petermulder7480 Thank you so much for the detailed reply. I haven't tried it yet , but will be getting some different glasses and trying this out ASAP , and will update you on my success and thoughts... Once again thank you so much 😊

Dude. You are godsend ! You explained things so well and clearly. No unnecessary words or lines. Precise. Concise. Perfect. Thank you.
I just got a really good deal on a t1 new open box, I kinda regret not getting the t2 but I did save $100. Maybe when the t3 launches
I can’t believe how good that looks
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I'm glad you liked the video!
Excellent review Chris, they definitely seem brighter and better than the 1st version.
Looks stunning fella.
Hope you are all well 🙏 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Thanks buddy! Definitely a nice upgrade!! Hope you are doing good as well!
Good . This meaning we can extend m1 strip to 10 meter and connected with t2 and working together ?
Hi im looking into getting the T2 but im confused hkw many of there products are compatible as far as add on lights go. Great video thanks for info.
I been waiting on you to do the T3. U do the best videos, keep up the good work
What background are you using? Nice effects
Great video and you’re right, the camera is a deal breaker
hahaha for real
Thanks for watching! I'm sure your not alone! Hopefully they can come out with something down the road that does not require one!
You can hide the camera behind a soundbar or ornament.
Thanks Chris! Awesome job.
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Glad you liked the video! Thanks buddy!
curious if you would ever try the camera under near the tv trick.
They suck and work nothing like you see in these fake sponsored videos. You are being fooled.

good set up can this govee t2 all so work on a projector screen thank
Good morning. Is the video of the light bouncing around on UA-cam so I may use it to show the reaction also?
Thanks so much for watching. Here it is! ua-cam.com/video/hOymzpel2rs/v-deo.html
I would reach out to govee on that one to see what they say. us.govee.com/pages/contact-us
Do u have some sorta plastic cover over the leds like a diffuser
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah, I have a diffuser channel from muzata. They perfectly diffuse the lights when using something that at least has 60/leds per meter. Here is the video I made going over this more: ua-cam.com/video/XhMnKVqAIWw/v-deo.html
if you buy 2 govee m1 can you set both of them to dreamview
Can you do an updated video with the updated app and different compatible devices? I was to believe by the GOVEE app that the Neon Rope Light 2 was compatible, however I set it up and it’s not :/
Are these good for under cabinet lighting?
They would work great for under cabinet lighting but being that the cut points of the Govee M1 are I believe every 1.5 feet, you might run into issues if your trying to cut them to perfectly fit your setup. Might be better off using something where you can cut after every led so that you get the perfect fit. Thanks for watching!
Does Govee RGBICW LED Strip Lights work in dream view ?
Did you make a video on how to have the govee lights turn on when I turn the TV on?
Awesome! I hope they stick to the camera by the way, maybe with a smaller module. Having a Syncbox means that you
- are bound to use it only with HDMI peripherals
- you are likely to not get that 4k 120hz on the newest consoles
I read you can only cut after the first 3m, is that correct??
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thanks anyway. I just bought Alexa to avoid damaging my tv cus I was not sure what kind of ac I need
Jo Chris ,
Is It possible to use this sync Thing even with the t1 Version? Thanks
Thanks so much for watching and great question! It for sure is! This is the video I made of syncing things up using the T1: ua-cam.com/video/ztXyVUYvHSg/v-deo.html
Does the m1 and t2 strips have differences? Which one is better
So the T2 also controls the colors any other Govee lights I link to it?
If your not getting any answers, might be a good one for Govee support: us.govee.com/pages/contact-us
Netflix etc. Does it work in apps?
Thanks so much for watching! It works with anything that is displayed on your tv since its using the camera.
@@ChrisMaherDIY thank you very much. Can you make a video about it? for information purposes.
Buenas noches, saludos desde Pery, podrías compartir los videos que usaste para el test que hiciate porfavor.
I have the T2 now and was wondering, do you have a new settings preference for more accuracy?
Thanks so much for watching! it took a good amount of tweaking but the white balance is closer to the left and the saturation is around 17% Those were the settings that gave me the best accuracy on my tv. The biggest things though for me was to have my tv on its bright/vivid setting. That helped a good amount. And finally I think the brightness of the T2 i have set to around 50%. That's what I used!
@Chris Maher appreciate the tip, thank you.
Very nice. 😎
Thanks Chris. 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching and as always thanks for the comment!!
Can I sync up al my govee lights like your using the Sync Music box devices syncing 7 devices?? I want this!!
I have T1, can I sync with other Govee products like you did in the video? Thank you.
Thanks so much for watching and you certainly can! I made a video not too long ago of doing exactly that with the T1. Here is that video: ua-cam.com/video/ztXyVUYvHSg/v-deo.html
That's great, I will buy a light strip to sync with my T1👍
Did you post a video of how you did the corner? I found the video of cutting the lights but not how you put your track up or ran wires.

DO U KNOW IF IT CAN CONNECT WITH OTHER SMART LAMPS IN SAME WIFI?
Any thoughts on using a 75inch strip on 65inch tv
Thanks so much for watching! I did give it thought but I wouldn't do it. I don't think it would turn out very good or accurate. I could be wrong but that's just my initial thoughts. It would be nice if they made it so you could cut it for an exact fit!
But one question. Do I’ve to use the Govee app everytime to enable or disable the TV filming mode ? Or is it even possible with Google Assistant?
Thanks so much for watching and great question! So I always just keep it turned on. When the tv is off there is just a slight glow coming from behind the tv but when the tv turns on, it will automatically start mirroring the screen. I also believe you can simply use voice commands to turn it on or off as well.
Is it possible to use the m1 lights with the T2 camera without the lights from the T2 kit?
Thanks so much for watching! Great question. I'm not 100% sure since I have not tested this out yet but I don't see why not. I think you could just unplug the lights that come with the T2 and I would assume everything would still work and you could then just set up the M1 like normal in dreamview. If I get around to testing this out, I'll let you know! Thanks!
SO beautiful TY
Thanks as always for watching buddy!
Was it hard to remove the LED Strip from the T1 setup? Do u have any recommendations as to how to do it the easiest way possible so I can use the T1 strip again and just reinstall it on me bedroom setup?
Can we place this camera at lower middle position (instead of top middle) position facing up to the screen?
I would get this but idk if the camera will stay on my C2?
@@marvellkid lol sorry! My bad but glad the video was still helpful!
Love everything u put out. Thanks bro man
Thanks again!
Great video. The manufacturer says you cant cut the M1 strips smaller than 3m? But yours seem 1m max? Is this something you knew but did it anyway?
@@edwint1780 yeah that's kinda what I was thinking! Hopefully at some point a product will come out that is truly instant!
On my t2, the top right and bottom left corners there’s light when screen is black. Also, on the top right area it’s not showing the colors as much. Do you know what the issue is and how I can fix it?
Nope you cant fix this. The T2 cant switch unused LEDs off. The T3 lite can do this. The T3 pro will come soon we all think
How did you get the cut ones to work 😮
Thanks so much for watching! I did a video on cutting/reconnecting the Govee M1 which is what I used in the video: ua-cam.com/video/0w4SgpVoWtU/v-deo.html

@@ChrisMaherDIY thank you so much. That worked have an incredible day!
how many controllers and power sources do you need when you have so many different strips in different places in the room ?
Great review Chris! Do you mind to do a video on how and what connectors you used to separate the M1s? Thanks for your consideration 🤟
Thanks so much for watching and great question! Unfortunatly I still have not found any connectors that fit the Govee M1. There are a lot of connectors I found that have 4 pins but are only for led strips that are 10mm wide. The govee M1 is 12mm wide. So I just soldered everything. What is the best govee starting kit?
Thanks so much for watching! For the tv backlight kits, I would say the T1 is a great place to start if you dont want to spend the extra money on the T2. Otherwise if you just want an led strip, the new Govee M1 is awesome!
Is there any else that can be added just the same as the M1 strip?

In my previous video I synced some hexa panels, the lyra floor lamp and the govee glide: ua-cam.com/video/ztXyVUYvHSg/v-deo.html I would say the majority of their products the past 2 years will sync with dream view!

Is it possible to sync the M1 to the TV without the Dreamview T2?

What inches will be compatible with that led strip?
So they make an led strip to fit 55 to 65 inch tv and another one to fit 75 to 85 inch TVs i believe! Thanks for watching!

Is there a way to use these on a 48 Inch tv ?
Thanks so much for watching! You could use these on a 48" tv but i'm not sure how good it would look as you would have to someone find a way to hide some of the extra led strip. Maybe if someone else is reading this and knows of a workaround they could chime in! A few others have mentioned that the ambivision pro brand allows you to cut strips to size so might be worth checking them out.
First , I love your channel! Question, do you think this would work for a projection screen?
Thanks so much for watching and great question! I have not tried it so I could be wrong but i've been told it would not. I would be curious to know though if anyone has actually tried it. I'm not sure a projection screen would be bright enough for the camera to pick up on the colors (not to mention that most projection screens are bigger than the max 85 inches that Govee makes for the t2. There is however a program out there called hyperion that I really want to check out which does apparently work for projectors!
Thanks for your answer and keep doing what you do! Loving it!

@@ChrisMaherDIY I will try, thx!
How did he managed to get lights turned off when a scene is black? I have Lights still on when scene is black.
Great colors can you do a color accuracy tutorial?
I have had the T2 for a couple weeks now and I don't notice the Camera. It took my wife a couple of days to notice it was installed. Being on an 85" TV it gets lost in the action. :)
Lol that's hilarious! But yeah I'm with ya. I really don't notice it much at all. My wife would also probably not even realize its there. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
I wonder why TV manufacturer don't just build the LED sync system into the tv itself!!
Philips does it, it's called Ambilight
Thanks so much for watching and that is a great idea! I'm not sure of anyone that does this (led strips build into the tv, no external sync box, etc)
Phillips have a pentet on their Ambilight system, which hinders other manufacturers to do this 💁
@@Keri_96 Others can manufacture theirs with ambilight, they just have to pay a license.
Ambilight isn’t available in the US, is it?
Amazing
Thanks so much for watching!
Great review! What is the music that starts at 6:36 please?
Thanks so much buddy! Here is the song! Glad you like it! ua-cam.com/video/8Zoh1OmMDKU/v-deo.html
Yes very BIG difference. Far more natural colours.
@@petermulder7480 can you describe the filter or provide a picture of it so I can put one on mine as well , it sounds awesome

You take some plastic 3 D glasses you get from movie theatre.
