    Brake pads can make a big difference in improving your stoping performance without spending big dollars on new calipers

      I have the r1 rn65 and it does marginal improvement with the break pads. problem is the super long breakline from the pump to abs module and back to the calipers. upgrading the break pump to magura helps on the break feeling but the break power is only achieved if you disconnect from the abs module and direct connect to calipers. first mod on racetrack on r1 anyway and no expensive new calipers needed. in theory you are right but not in this case

      Actually it’s better if you change the disc. Get a set of Galfer disc they will make a HUGE difference instead of the caliper.

      @@Nostalchik I can only comment on what I've experienced and for me the difference from a average price set of brake pads to the more expensive on a bike fitted with Hel brake lines and no abs the improvement was significant.

      Not a new thing. I'd heard of bikes and cars using magnesium in wheels 20 years ago. Probably some kind of magnesium alloy so not sure about flammability. Maybe somebody could test on their bike and let us know 😂

    In cars bigger brakes means better cooling. Bigger tires makes faster braking. Is that not the case for motorcycles or does the braking on them work differently?

    • @briangiven7399
      @briangiven7399 4 місяці тому +5

      I don't think I'm qualified to answer this but I'll try. Bikes can't have either bigger tires or bigger brakes because the whole bike is designed proportional to the wheels. No extra space for larger rotors, so the choice and quality of. The individual components becomes paramount. You can upgrade the brake lines from rubber to braided steel, swap the pads for sintered style for harder braking bite, and also the calipers for more force multipliers and control modulation.

      it works the same. coming from a guy who lives in 3rd world country and has been riding a motorcycle from 6th grade, it's just that we upgrade the brake lines or brake pads first before upgrading the rest of the components. in stage 1, we upgrade brake pads and brake lines. Stage 2, we upgrade the brake rotor from fixed to semi or full float design (regular floating brake rotor is O-drive, T-drive rotor is newer and better) with petal or commonly known as wavy brake rotors that has more surface areas for cooling. in stage 3, we upgrade the caliper for more rigid material and the brake master cylinder for a better feel.
      the result of switching from rubber to braided brake lines is day and night. some bikes like my Suzuki GSX-R150 has small 290mm petal brake disc, it can be upgraded to 320mm full-float brake rotor but then my caliper and brake pads has too little of a contact area so I need to upgrade it to big pot 4 pistons caliper like Brembo P4-40 series, but then again my stock brake master cylinder is no good because it has 12.7mm piston diameter so I had to upgrade it to 19mm like Brembo RCS15 or RCS19, but then again I live in 3rd world country so I'll die whithin 2 days trying to save up for all those expensive shi 🗣🔥💯💯💯 aftermarket braking systems costs more than my bike 💀☠️
