Absolutely beautiful. I've been making leather sheath for about 35 years using the same techniques. It's so nice to see others who appreciate fine handmade sheaths.
I am not a leather worker nor a knife maker, but I loved watching the skill that went into this piece. I always read a few of the comments and am amazed how quickly the negativity starts. As I often comment about my trade, woodworking, "ask 10 woodworkers how to do a particular operation and you will get more than 10 methods as we all develop multiple ways to accomplish the same task and most of our methods make others cringe." Great video and a great piece.
This was a very well done video showing the outline of how to make a very handsome leather knife sheath. I enjoyed the process making a quality leather sheath as well as the clarity of the video. Well done as are so many of the De Carli products.
Thank you for the treat, from content to camera work to music this is hands down the best maker video I've ever had the pleasure of watching. A professional craftsman of the highest order, hats off.
Thank you sir for putting this video together and getting it posted here. I can now better appreciate your craft and the price when purchasing any professionally done leather goods.
Seriously beautiful workman ship wonderfully edited and nice background music and loved the way we get to hear the sounds of cutting leather and tools every once and a while, only time I cringed was watching that knife slowly pass your fingers, your a true artist Well done.
Great leather work, I started using the drill press in my leather work, never saw it used before making the holes. its nice you make both knife and sheaths. That would be like getting a nice custom tooled guitar strap , just the way you want it, when you get the hand made guitar from the same person. Thanks for sharing the information on the needle and tread.
Beautiful work. Have you ever tried a sharpened finishing nail instead of a drill bit? I used to use drill bits till I tried that, no more tear outs while drilling holes. Got a buddy of mine that swears by using a sewing awl in the drill press as well.
Beautiful work. I do have a question though. How did leather workers achieve the same results with no drill and glue? Hinting at an old school leather video.
Always wondered how to use those leather punches. I inherited a set of them and assumed they needed to be heated, like bookbinding tools. Now I know. Thanks.

Always wondered how to use those leather punches. I inherited a set of them and assumed they needed to be heated, like bookbinding tools. Now I know. Thanks.
