I love the bathroom! People are too afraid of vivid colors, we all need a splash of color in our lives!

Peter when you go back for “finishing touches #2” I would buy new switches and plugs to make things pop. Right now you have white plates around ivory… it’s the small details that make it pop! Also a solid white or solid black roller shade would look sick! ❤❤❤
A fresh coat of white on the window trim would do well too.
I work as a commercial and residential painter. Two fixes for you:

The textured wall: the texture is probably caused by not sanding your walls. Paint skins, dirt/lint/dust, linty rollers, etc, get embedded in the paint. One or two coats and it’s not noticeable, but after many coats (as happens with DIY homeowners), the gunk builds up. It’s really fast to sand your walls with a sand head on an extension pole. Hitting it with 100 grit sandpaper should remove most of it, if you come across it in the future. It’s maybe a 5-10 minute job on a room that small, but makes a big difference
The second is all those extra coats to fix the finger. Yellow doesn’t cover with shit. Doing a base coat of flat white will make it easier to paint over. Think ceiling paint. White covers better than yellow and will kill the black faster, white has less contrast for the yellow to cover over, and using flat will give you a chalky surface that will suck up the yellow paint and let you put it on a bit thicker. For reds, using a flat grey base coat works much the same way. Choosing to paint yellow over black is pretty much the hardest way to do it, you have a semi-transparent paint with a ton of contrast. We always use a base coat when customers want low-hide colours like yellow (paint stores put that info on the paint chip, usually on the back along with the LRV)
A quick side note, a base coat is NOT primer. You shouldn’t use primer. Primer tends to be too transparent. A ceiling paint really is the best option. It’s usually really cheap and very opaque, and it’s usually very, very white. One coat is probably enough. It should make it so the yellow will cover in 2-3 coats rather than 6

I like the bathroom color a lot! I imagine when the sun shines in it really fills the place up with beautiful golden light so definitely a win!

My great grandma painted her bathroom golden and did a big mural of a place somewhere in Italy. It’s still there years later and it’s beautiful.
My first favorite color was Yellow! My now favorite color is Green! I love all colors really but, Yellow and Green are definitely special to me! Yellow apparently makes people anxious. For me I have always associated Yellow as a happy color! Like a smiley face! 😁 I love the bathroom so much! 💛💚

Yellow is my favorite color so I would love that bathroom. 💛 Matches my bedroom walls. The box looks so cool like someone opened Pandora's box and its just some epic energy waves flowing.

Very cool!!! I've been painting murals in the men's and women's bathroom at Harry's Place Bar and Grill, here in Lansing, Michigan. I think if the entire room was just straight up yellow, it would be too much. But with the large portion of the artwork being white, I think it mellows the harshness of the colour! Looks great!

I painted my baby's room yellow as they couldn't see what i was having. His aunt made him a big wall mosaic with giraffes and his birth date and it looked awesome. 21 years later it's still the same. He won't let me change it. This from a metal family who've worn 99% black clothing for the last 35 years. I can't help but see a cloud of noxious fumes escaping from the toilet though 😅 sorry. Looks awesome! Pro Tip: Buy a head lamp for the next time you need to tape off trim in low light. They have ones that recharge off a USB.
Maybe this was done, but to avoid gunk on the walls interfering with the paint, first wash walls with TSP then wipe down with damp rag before painting, and allow to dry (especially in a bathroom). To avoid reactivating the Posca marker lines that you want to paint over, could try covering those areas with an opaque primer like Kilz and then go in with the latex paint and acrylic marker. This was a good demo for us dabblers to glimpse the process from prep to finish and realize when your friends want you to paint a mural in their bathroom, it’s gonna be a lot more work than they/you may realize, aside from all the design work and measuring, etc

I painted the bathroom in my second apartment that color it was more yellowish . I spend so much time there I thought the color would make me happy when I was down and it did 😂 so I love this
I used the front camera and placed my phone against the wall when I was taking photos of a smaller space. I remember seeing it in a video where a coach was filming a practice for his athletes to use for practice. It was from a series about a group of athletes for about 10 years.
Also, your jacket blends/camouflages into the yellow background.
Wow! The bathroom is dreamy! Gorgeous! Doing the ceiling too could be cool. Could you wallpaper the ceiling or use a glue and tissue technique like the one your friend created for you in Seattle?
In addition to what you already did with the box and energy waves I could see some metalic gold koi or goldfish with a contrasting blue or purple. I know that bathrooms are mainly utility... they are also great idea places. Perhaps that bathroom is too small. I lobe the idea of having ready a note wall of ideas. Perhaps that would be too great a distraction and dirty for the tasks at hand....

Its most likely a silicone or sand additive used in paint to ensure proper adhesion.
Its generally done during the construction process.

Hey man- I once lived in a share house and the toilet (bathroom as you call it) had swing shutter doors & was wall to wall Art Nouveau theatre & cafe poster wallpaper- like moulin rouge, Folies bergére etc by Toulouse-Lautréc, De Feure…. And it was A LOT- and I loved it. I love what you did- bright & busy is my jam !!! 🖤💛🤍

Love the color AND the artwork! I really like those deep, rich colors on walls, but yellow is a personal favorite. Also, I agree with what someone else said about changing the light switch and plug socket covers - you could get some very artistic looking covers that would really complement the other new black fixtures.

I honestly love the bathroom - it IS vivid, but like, it's a very small bathroom, you're not spending hours in there at a time, it doesn't need to be restful or peaceful or anything. I started watching your videos at a time where I deeply associate gradients with your art though, so I always want to see them incorporated more than it seems you're doing now - I think that yellow for most of the wall, going into your trademark orange would've been dope, too.

coolest half bath ive seen :D the yellow is bright enought that if theres light outside and the blinds are open that you dont even need to turn on the laights :D handy !! hehe

Hey buddy isopropyl alcohol helps remove paint marker and stuffs … helps instead of 5 extra coats of wall paint (or magic erasers) especially when your repainting with wall paint .
