Typical age is anywhere between 11 to 14 years old. 8-9 years isn't completely uncommon either. I was 9. All of my paternal aunts and cousins started their periods by 8-9 years old. I have a huge family. I have 30 first cousins. Whenever one of my cousins (male or female) has a girl, usually by the age of 5-7 they are preparing their partner/spouse that their child is likely to start their period by 8-9 years old. It's an interesting genetic fact about my family! 🤷♀️
