Great video sir, the world needs to come together to increase OSA awareness because this is such a debilitating condition. In my case, I spent 2 years desperately trying to figure out why I was violently jolting awake as I fell asleep, why my mouth was always dry, why I always felt lifeless. It was a huge process to figure out it was sleep apnea and get access to a CPAP. But the solution was terrible, the CPAP caused so much bloating and dryness in my eyes... after learning more I realized the problem was my heavy tongue was collapsing my airways at night. Bought a thing that suction cups my tongue to the outside of my mouth, and I've been really really grateful and happy ever since... I hate OSA...

    I am 32 yrs old,
Not a smoker, occasional alcohol consumption.
Not obese at all, fit for my age,
but I have this problem where on some days I wake up tired, have difficulty to concentrate on work have excessive daytime sleepiness. While on some days I wake up with clear mind and feel refreshed.
I searched about it and get to obstructive sleep apnea section, then I realised I sometime wake up in middle of night with my nose choked and difficulty in breathing and as I sit up I am able to breathe properly.
Proper sleep is utmost necessary, sleep disorder is crippling it decreases my cognitive ability which is very irritating I just want to get rid of it.

I'm 20 and I have severe sleep apnea. When I was young I always had issues with sleeping to much, just no one did anything about it. My oxygen gets down to 80 percent and I wake up 155 times in one hour. I am overweight but I've been super skinny before and still had it. When I told my doctor this she said I've probably had it my whole life. My dad has it too, she also said that if my oxygen is getting that low and if I'm waking up that many times then it's probably something I've suffered with my whole life.

Let me tell you that God can heal anything. I've heard of and experienced healing while reading the Bible out loud so definately do that every day. I had neck pain so bad I could only sleep on my back and it vanished while I was reading the Bible out loud. I felt so much stronger my bones , joints and every thing. You can look up healing scriptures on utube or maybe all the Bible is healing I don't know. I just know nothing is impossible with God, nothing is too big for Him. 😉

Let me tell you also that the bible says our tounge is the steerage of our ship so we shouldn't say bad things about ourself. We should say things like, "I sleep perfectly healthily in Jesus' name. I don't have sleep apnea in Jesus' name." Jesus is Lord , his name has healing and power. The bible also says our tounge has the power of life and death so be careful how you talk about yourself and your loved ones. God bless. 🤗

Thank you - good overview. Just want to say that (a) morning headaches is more of an indicator of sleep hypoventilation rather than sleep apnoea - although some patients may have both - attributed to an increase in CO2 across the night, especially REM sleep (b) UPPP has poor outcomes. Most of those studies were in very selected populations. For mild OSA, you can also look to a Mandibular Advancement Splint if they have appropriate dentition or positional therapy if they have mostly OSA in the supine position. Keep up the good work.

Thank you, sir. I have a question. my teacher said Sleep Apnea is a period of breathing cessation when C02 levels become abnormally low!!. I don't understand this part, CO2 level should actually become abnormally high cause there is no way to get fresh air or O2 in and therefore CO2 levels increase. Isn't that so ?!!

Central sleep apnea occurs because your brain doesn't send proper signals to the muscles that control your breathing. This condition is different from obstructive sleep apnea, in which you can't breathe normally because of upper airway obstruction. Central sleep apnea is less common than obstructive sleep apnea.👍
