I love how most animes that have these ridiculously aesthetic cooking scenes don't have anything to do with cooking at all and it just pops out of nowhere and you don't even care about the plot anymore you just want to see more of that aesthetic ramen

Unfortunately here in the West it’s primary use is in “a princess singing about wanting more” or “what your animal friends or inanimate objects are doing when you’re not home” type of plots

Anime name - Flavors Of Youth. It is a movie that features 3 different stories. It’s on Netflix. The original dub is Chinese but there is also a Japanese and English dub. The age rating is Pg 13+ but I feel like if you are above 10 then you can watch it! It’s a great film, would recommend!

This scene perfectly illustrates both why 2d animation is so highly regarded, and why studios are shying away from it. It looks absolutely gorgeous, it brings an aesthetic that simply could not be matched, but it's also extremely difficult and time consuming, and by extension, expensive, just to make a simple scene.

I did that job for more than 2 years after I returned to my country finally having money to afford higher education. I don't consider myself sensitive, however my experiences taught me a lot. About compassion. For example that whatever you would say to justify killing, killing will not change to a morally good or even neutral thing. It's objectively bad. And I'm tired of people who think they're some badass predators because a bone inside chicken nugget from KFC does not disgust them. You don't know anything about the real death, because if you did, it would be easy to notice in your behavior. Death changes people, because everything about it is obviously bad for the ones seeing it. The sounds of dying animals, seeing their spasms in agony, smell of blood mixed with guts and faeces, sounds of crushing bones, skulls, brains. Their miserable lifes in cages before this saving end. It does not seem awful only for people who have no experience with that. I am not going to blame you for not expieriencing what I did. But I definitely won't agree that you have to be soft to feel bad about things like that. You are lucky you don't have to kill on your own every animal you are going to eat. If you did, we would probably both agree about what I said earlier

This is like all the creator needs on their resume to get accepted as an animator at a large studio. This is the best animation I've seen in my (limited) recent memory, and it's on youtube.

You should check those 30 day challenges out. You draw everyday for 30 days. It's supposed to make you better at drawing. The results are actually good so I think you should try it out if you're passionate about this kinda stuff.

My mom doesn’t like anime because of the stereotype it has, but I got Netflix on my phone recently and went against her wishes. I have to say that I never regretted it because I’m just amazed at how smooth and fluid the animation is and how each scene is always satisfying to watch when the characters are cooking.

Man this scene had a HUGE budget, not only is 2d animation expensive enough, the frame rate is definitely around 24fps Which makes it more costly and not to mention food in anime is actually very expensive in production

One of my dreams is actually to own a café. One that serves asian-inspired foods and plays quiet, relaxing music over the speakers. Honestly, think of LeBlanc from P5 with the rainy day theme and you’d get a general idea of the atmosphere I want for it. A place to take your time and enjoy the moment, relishing the smells from the kitchen and eating good food. I don’t think it’ll happen any time soon though, or maybe even at all. It’s a nice dream though, and a good place my mind wanders to every now and then.

I find that I’m fine with weebs liking Japanese culture but when they take it too far and think ah hey that person is Asian so they must like Anime and girls and I’m just like bruh you just said what? Im not even Japanese related and just because someone is Japanese doesn’t mean they like always like Anime. Also, making your name sound like Japanese is kinda sad because their most likely messing up and saying some weird word or phrase.

Most of the weebs are just a bunch of immature thinking that they have the same life as the main character that they watched and theyll probably thinking that "OMG he is so cool he has a harem and he chose the best girl and yeah i should copy his moves like being quiet but deep inside im strong and high iq guy"
And one other thing is if one guy hates anime, theyre assuming that he likes kpop and insult him as gay because they thought listening to some korean pop idols makes you look gay

Btw i also encountered other fandoms like this, not just the otakus but the armies(bts), kdrama addict, koreaboo, BL lover and etc.
I mean.... I like anime and kpop but i just hate the fandoms
For me, I watch anime as I grew up with it and I love art. So I see it as a good medium to get inspiration for my art and seeing other people art too. Yes, I want to live in japan as art is a part of their culture. Being a 'weeb' isn't just thinking you're the main character, for some people it may be... But for me, it's a nice way to see a community of other people who like art, like me.
Edit: Please don't take this the wrong way. As a dig to you or whoever may not like it.
You just know that time anime has background characters with 2d ass drawings, stickmen and smiley faces, and the fight scenes are frame dropped and somehow low budget, but that one food scene for 10 secs? It's like all these artists are finally getting to use their classical training
