So in 94 the golden ball belonged to Romário but Europeans were still xenophobic and didn't want to recognize players from outside Europe despite everyone today it never made sense to award just played played in Europe, I think the only excuse that validated this decision is that it was practically impossible for a European to follow the games in South America, of course I wouldn't rule out o other continents, mainly African talents from that century, Portuguese black panther, who was of African origin, and to this day, Europeans, mainly France, nationalization of players With player children, refugee parents from Africa
@mirospajic9929 I am in total agreement with you. I still cannot understand why his name is rarely mentioned amongst the greatest footballers of all time. What more could he have done? His goals to get ratio is phenomenal, his longevity is well known. His World Cup impact and performance in 94 is second only Maradonas in 86. It's a travesty the way he has been so underrated.
@siddiqbey4205 He left Barca in 1995 and back to Brazil because he didn't like to live in Europe! That's the main reason why he is " forgotten " ! But in the year 2000, he beat Manchester United with Vasco da Gama! That year, he scored 72 goals!

For sure, even France Football recognize later that they should have awarded Romário, Champions League finalist and World cup winner

Romario was the best striker I ever saw ! Yes, I would put him over Van Basten and Ronaldo Fenomeno!
