That first one, WOW! I live in Arlington, Vermont which is right outside the Bennington triangle. You can walk to Glastenbury Mountain from my house, I live on the base of that mountain. Lots of weird stuff goes on around here for sure.

My first theory is that Bud was murdered, probably by his own unit. A small group of soldiers shouldn't take an hour to notice their friend hasn't returned from a 20 minute patrol. I think they probably had some kind of personal issue with him, and a few of them either talked him into hiking the mountain or forced him. They would have killed him and stuffed him underneath the rock to hide his remains.
My only other theory is that Bud decided to explore the mountain and ran into some wild animal and, out of fear, took shelter under the rock and got stuck.
It could even be a combination of the two, maybe he was attacked by his friends and got away. Hiding under the rock to avoid them, but couldn't get back out.
he had a rifle for self defense though, so unless someone or something snuck up on him why wouldn't he have shot a couple times as self defense?
@@FG-tr6ts Maybe he did, wherever he was attacked. Whatever had come at him may not have gone down easily and so he tried to hide under the rock. Casings may not have been found near his body, but that would most likely be because the fight happened somewhere else, in this hypothetical situation.

No matter how hard I try, my brain can't figure out how any of these happened. Especially the last one, that last one was just mind-boggling 😂
30 miles is longer than a marathon. Doing a marathon plus over rugged terrain with some who has asthma is impossible. The kid is 11 years old and he can’t articulate what actually happened is also suspicious. It’s not like he’s 2 years old like the first story. There’s some kind of foul play or something supernatural.
I lived right next to a police station years ago. There was never suspicious characters walking around and no theft reported in our complex so yeah it’s good to live right next to the police. Thieves and home invaders tend to stay away.

the last story: he had a rifle, which I assume was loaded: surely a rifle shot would have been heard back at the hut to alert them that he was in some kind of trouble. If he'd been able to, that is; whatever got him didn't give him a chance.
The one thing Mr. Ballen has taught me is just stay out of the forest. That’s for the animals to live.
Take a gun, 2 knives a pocket knife & I carry a buck knife as well (technically a pocket knife in NC just a 4.5 inch blade that’s very sharp & sturdy) , pepper spray, bear spray ideally, lots of water, phone, tell someone or multiple ppl where your going, when you’ll be back, don’t go alone, take medical supplies with you, food if your staying for long, proper gear, clothes, check the weather, share your phone location with a trusted friend or family member, shoot take a portable charger with you for your phone, again water, I like a Glock in the woods shotgun or rifle on top of the Glock never hurts if you own the property or can legally carry there & are allowed to be there, firestarting kit, flint & steel, lighter, kindling, gloves, blanket, wool socks, toboggan, space blanket, glow in the dark sticks, flares, if you really wanna get extreme a flare gun wouldn’t hurt. All that except the rifle & shotgun can fit in a backpack. Just what I could think of in 5 or so minutes
We clasify as animals tho. And we have lived in the forest for most of our existence as a species

1 - That's rather strange all around. My main question is whether that area is big enough for a small boat cause I can see someone randomly finding the kid but leaving them on this island to go off to do something else.
2 - Definitely a case of the kid getting crazy tired. Mountain hiking ain't no joke even if you stick with casual trails.
3 - one of the four killed him and put him in there. Either that or maybe the cervice was a bit bigger before and he possibly fell in somehow

Wondering if the guy in story no: 3 got murdered? Each of the four at the command post/weather station gave each other an alibi, right? Very creepy stories.
Sounds the most plausible to me. Maybe the whole story was a cover-up. The soldier got into an argument, it got heated and the guy got killed by accident. Maybe they thought it would be better to hide his body on this mountain than to throw him into the sea. And then they reported him missing.
That's at least the least speculative scenario i can think of.
@@NavanBethrax Or- He could have been extremely unlucky and slipped into that crevice, especially if his arms were pinned closely to him and he couldn't fire off the rifle (or knocked unconscious, bled out and died before regaining consciousness) but there was no info on the autopsy findings, which would be speculative after so many decades anyway. It's still a mystery lol.
It's a dumb explanation but possible: Bud might have felt adventurous and wanted to "beat it" in the outdoor nighttime and have a little alone time with himself and since there's no cover on the island, he thought he could hide in the crevice while doing it but mustve got stuck or hit his head or something down there and died
That’s funny but if they live there & he wanted to do that he’d just go to his room or bathroom or maybe outside but certainly not in a crevice. Like I said that theory made me laugh tho
On #3, if he forced himself into the hole to hide. He could have gotten stuck in there. If it was that tight of a squeeze, he could have died from asphyxiation. His chest wouldn't be able to expand properly.

I think every adult should be responsible for a child regardless if it's there child or not but people do fall into that mob mentality. I was in the 99 cent store once I saw a very small child walking around you can tell he was maybe 2 maybe even a little younger he was by himself just wondering around I noticed no one was doing anything and I didn't see his parents. I just took his hand and found an employee to help me locate his parents. My point is why didn't any adult including people who worked there think it was unusual to see a baby walking around by himself?

That animal has to be big and fast to cover that much distance with a child. It’s no bear I promise you that. Bear has to carry him in his mouth and that won’t happen.

#1 - again a missing-then-found person with clothing removed - only the shoes, this time. If a toddler could have swum to the place he was found, why wasn't he wet? if someone or something put him there, why take his shoes off? and just his shoes?
#2 - the kid obviously couldn't keep up with the others and lagged further and further behind until he lost contact with them altogether.
When I was a youth leader in the UK and we took the kids out even for a walk in the street or to a local park, there'd always be at least one leader at the very back, in case this exact thing happened.
But for the rest of it ...
1:Definitely the most strangest one. He was put on that island for sure maybe by boat maybe not. He could've been drugged and hallucinated the cows. Maybe even the searching people who found him have something to do with it. After all it was weird for someone to search for him that far away...
2:No way a weak kid like him with asthma would make a 30 miles trip on a ragged terrain it's just impossible. He was probably kidnapped moved around, drugged (hence the animal hallucinations) and either released for some reason or got lucky escaped and the boy who found him was at the right spot at the right time. Maybe he was threatened to be killed if he tells the truth or maybe the trauma made his brain forget the event.
3:Definitely the least mysterious. He was probably killed by the other soldiers. I don't think he fell into it by accident. He was literally jammed in it, he wasn't supposed to be there during patroling and if something attacked him he would've used his rifle which the others would've heard. What happened is the soldiers probably killed him either on purpose or by accident and then jammed his body underneath the rock where they've know the search party wouldn't find it and gave each other an alibi. Definitely creepy
I feel like I feel like the cows were in the swamp and the kids said that there was cows there he probably got on top of a cow or walked or crawled over a cow to get to the island

Its a good thing, trust me. As much as we like to say the police are horrible, talk to a poor gang member. Youll never be more afraid than the moment your realize that someone has NOTHING to lose. Worst part of living in detroit sadly, but it makes our average citizen pretty damn tough as a result

Second one maybe he was sleep walking? I have no idea shit is weird. Maybe it was an animal, but why didn’t the group let alone the damn adult check before they left. First one still makes my stomach upset cause I wanna know how he got to that island.
The kid in the first story is 2 ain't no way U should let a 2 year old leave your side unless there with another trust worthy adult..The adult in me gets worried
