Two things helped me to feel free and understand myself and my anxiety beyond what people wanted me to think: punk rock and zen buddhism.

How on earth could you find anything to dislike? He's not trying to force anything on you or on anyone. He's explaining what changed within him when he was in prison; what he realized and recognized. And it's simply meant to be helpful, if it can be. If it's not for you, that's perfectly okay, too.

Its really easy to just sit there and criticize people from behind a computer screen, only focusing on the negatives. If you acutally knew Noah, you would be able to see that he is a genuine, loving, and compassionate person who is not seeking fame and fortune at all. He is doing something positive and helping other people live happier and better lives, rather than just sitting there and criticizing others.

Noah is the punkest dude ever. So lucky to have been able to sit with him, even if I was too young to really get it. Amazing human.

I have so much in common with the old Noah, this guy has done one of the most admirable life changes I've seen.

@aaron343432 The Buddha was also revolutionary in proposing anatman, or no-self, in reaction to the dominant idea of atman, or self, which is the basis of the caste system in India. the caste system is a system of inequality where people born into certain categories are considered less worthy and are confined to the worst of jobs and conditions. The Buddha also allowed women to become monks, very revolutionary at the time.

His teachings in many ways remind me like those of Jesus. It's amazing how truth in many religions overlap.

I love when punk people gets near to buddhism, as I did. Not because of Noah Levine (I'm from spain) and not because they should, and not because punk and buddhism fashion fit nor something or whatever. But I find it better than the old mumbo jumbo "all religions are the same", mostly spoken by people who never investigate about any religion. By the way, I think buddhism is the best and most positive way I made with my life. I was needing it when I started and don0t think i will quit.

They wore robes made from trash and medical rags, which they dye with tea leafs, which was the cheapest dye in that time. But I guess this was not the only thing to call them rebels.

Not a fan of Dharma Punx at all. Other podcasts communicate Dharma in an appealing and soothing fashion. This podcast yells it at you and sounds more like a lecture.

+TheReivenlocke I don't experience it in that way whatsoever. I find their truth-telling and willingness to discuss more difficult subjects so refreshing and like a feeling of home-coming.

Can't really agree. I've heard speakers that have done both Audio Dharma and Dharma Punx and their delivery style is like day and night between the two. Matthew Brensilver's voice would unrecognizable between the two two podcasts...
