The food made by the Restaurants cannot be replicated at home as the home gas stove burners cannot produce the high heat that the commercial kitchen burners can produce. This fact is very rarely disclosed when the recipes of Chinese food are shared/shown on shows.

You are right, also 2 things I've noticed that use of aromat powder and good quality oyster sauce is missing in homemade chinese.

Request you to use fresh spoons for taking portions from the dish and not use urs from the eating plate, So the remaining food is good for other Crew members to finish later post the shootings.
I agree with you Kunal that American Chop Suey is 100% our creation. Being a fan of this dish I ve tried it from East to West of India and trust me you will find so many variations as you move forward. In East it started with more of onion halves and ended up on pineapple in the west of India.😂 But majja har baar utna hi aaya😋

The best Chinese food we get is in Mumbai.. And Mumbai only. Trust me I have travelled to Pune n Nashik but never got Chinese like What we get in my city Mumbai. Don't tell Indian Chinese say Mumbai Chinese. Remember the LAAL DABBA chinese stalls initially in Mumbai during 1994 onwards... M a fan of mumbaik Chinese since then.

"Sorry mein bolne ke aur khane ki koshish saath mein he kar rahahoon" - That's Kunal at its best. He can't let go the joy of devouring the food in his mouth while the UA-cam channel duty compels him to speak. Must be a dharam sankat for him.
Btw that's the most veg food I have seen him eat while non-veg is on the table. But I think Kunal just loves good food, irrespective of what it is.
Well the veg chopsuey was the most commonly available dish until the lollypops and manchurians / schezwans of the world took over. A good chopsuey is hard to find now. Will try Mr. Chow's as recommended by Kunal.
Have had some of my best Chinese meals in Kolkata, especially at Chinoiserie in Taj Bengal. Deciding between Sonargaon and Chinoiserie used to be a Dharam Sankat for me.
As far as Mumbai is concerned, we have lost some stars and some old names which served great food some also in a new avatars now. One of my personal favourites was Kamling. Many years back even Chopsticks was great and so was the revolving at the Ambassador.
Yes China Garden, Lings Pavilion and Royal China are also great but I miss the above places along with a Mings Palace, VongWongs and Flora. The new wave of chains have taken over but these names shall stay hallmarks of great Chinese restaurants in Mumbai. Some were downright authentic, while others were legends in their own right.
I remember one of my favourite dimsums was at VongWongs, a chicken cheung fun. One of its kind, don't think anyone else perfected it so well in Mumbai. Also, their seabass in soya ginger sauce was awesome. The only other place I had such good soya ginger was in Chinoiserie at Taj Bengal.

@@KhaaneMeinKyaHai yes. Some good old places. Initially the aroma at Kamling was a bit revolting, but the more I travelled, the more I learnt, how various foods and cuisines taste. Pork was amazing at Kamling and Dim Sums best at VongWong. Flora was the quintessential Indianised Chinese food but closer to authentic one can say. The advent of the new chinese restaurants has standardised flavours but often misses the inherent flavour of the main ingredients - which is the hall mark of a good Chinese cuisine. Of pork, the slow roasted pork at Joss was amazing. One place close to my heart is Wok Hei at Chembur. The Kotian brothers of the DPs fame have donee a fabulous job to bring exciting deliciousness from some mixed Asian dishes. Some of its stuff is worth trying.

I agree with you Kunal sir, that American chopsuey has got nothing to do with America nor with China. It is very much indian.
And, all of the Chinese food that we eat, is the Indian version of the Chinese food. I will ask my wife to cook American chopsuey for us. In case she denies, I will do it myself. It's that easy to prepare 😊
