Image 2 was fantastic Kim, I enjoyed whole blog thanks.
Lots of good creative ideas Kim and a nice idea for a video, well done. Glad you decided to show the image with the starburst as I thought it looked really good.
Thanks Wayne and Yes, I was quite surprised when I got home and saw that one on the computer! It turned out a lot better than I expected it to.
I totally agree. #2 turned out great.
Outstanding Video! Grate work Kim! You are the best!
I know you say it is for scale and yes that works but I just really like that you put yourself in some of your images. To me it gives it more a personal touch which is not your normal landscape images. Great stuff
Once again I'm looking back on your tutorials Kim ,I loved this thank you for the history lesson , so creative well done ! loved the images 👍
LOVE this video. Second pic of you was incredible!
Kim enjoyed your shoot and the early shot had great light. That was a great idea.
All the best............Peter.
Good to see you have so much fun! Great work.
I really liked the 2nd photo of you in the archway.
You inspired me to try some photos with myself in them in my upcoming trip to the Lake District! Scale and a human element really added something here. Such a fun photoshoot. Only just discovered your channel, you've got a new fan!
GREAT video Kim - loved your shots! Another Idea I had would to get a shot of Dracula from a very low angle making him big in the scene and the castle looming in the background. I would LOVE to go there!!!!
Kim, I first found your channel early this year when my wife and I were considering visiting Skye in May. That trip didn’t work out but we’re heading to Scotland for two weeks in September. Lots of train travel, and as well as the two big cities we’ll be enjoying Fort William, Skye, Inverness, Thurso and Aberdeen. Really looking forward to it and watching your videos has been a big part of our inspiration to make this trip happen. Have a great time on Harris and Lewis.
some stunning images and ideas
What a nice shooting. Picture number 2 is absolutely fantastic! Maybe an idea for a Dracula picture: In the first of the Dracula series, where he stands in the turret, how about him stretching out his arms (and cape) as if he was on the point of flying away?
Wonderfully creative. The ‘trapped’ series worked really well. You said you would take a picture of Dracula with his capon but no mater how I looked I just couldn’t see the chicken.
I love your photos.
Very beautiful photos
Couple or really cool images Kim
In case you were wondering, Kim, those rays you captured between 2:42 and 2:51 of your video are called anticrepuscular rays. Here's a description of what they are from Wikipedia: "Anticrepuscular rays or antisolar rays are similar to crepuscular rays, but seen opposite the sun in the sky. Anticrepuscular rays are near-parallel, but appear to converge at the antisolar point because of linear perspective. Anticrepuscular rays are most frequently visible near sunrise or sunset." Very fun video. Thanks, Kim.
Nice photos! Good that you have such a willing model for your shoot. Looking forward to your upcoming trip. Thanks KIm.
Great video as always. Love the images of you showing off the scale you look awesome! I like how you show how much fun you have making theses videos as well . Some of the images of them clouds are so amazing! ED did a great job as well a real trooper.
Looks a great place to explore. Getting right into visiting castles at the moment so need to head up for a look some time.
Great photos Kim, I'm loving your new creativity and ideas. Can't wait to see Harris.
Love it when u jump up and click ur heels!
great images, enjoying your videos Kim Grant ... :-))
Thanks Bob!
Very well done Kim, creative , great images and an inspiring location !
Great ideas, especially the selfies! The Dracula shots can really tell a story, very nice! And how useful:Dracula becoming a sherpa at the end 😂👍
Excellent images, totally enjoyable video. Great work Kim. This is what photography is all about - the enjoyment of experimentation.
It sure is Mike - experimental photography is great fun!
That was a beautiful second image, glad you showed it..🧛🏻♂️
Great fun to watch, Kim! Half expected Ed to turn into a bat and fly off at the end!
Keep em coming...really enjoy! And nice heel kick at the first shot!
Thanks Don and wish I had the technical knowledge to make him do that (haha!)
Loved images 2 and 4 very nice, beautiful light and composition
Thank you Paul!
what an amazing video!
loved the perspectives
thanks for sharing this behind the scenes with us
really enjoyed watching
Thank you very much for your kind words! Glad you enjoyed it :)
It's always good to try something different with photography. It helps you to gain more technical knowledge that you'll be able to put into your skill set. Great "themed" storyline. Maybe Drac could have had a damsel to feast on while she took her selfies also.... :-D
Great video Kim. Image no.2 really worked for me! Did you think about putting "Dracula" on top of the battlements. Don't know if that was possible or not. Just an idea. Thanks again, great stuff!
Love your videos. And fantasy, scifi & horror inspired photography are some of my favourite styles, on top of landscapes.
Thank you very much! It's a great genre to play around with. I may have to do it more often.
Clever shooting, all fun and I liked all the images. Very well done, I look forward to the upcoming series.
Thank you very much Brenda!
Love the image of you at 4:17, sun setting, you looking out towards the sun, just beautiful Kim! Did you do any of the Dracula shots in B & W ? You have really improved this year with your story telling and editing. And you confidence on camera has grown leaps and bounds. 100K subscribers is just down around the corner for you Kimmy, it's going to be a great ride. Thanks for taking us a long.
I like the picture of you sitting down. Your Dracula needs to raise his arms up. Have some light going thru. This is one of your best Kim. I love the castle. Also a side shot of Dracula with the light hitting him. You made my day. A good job. Just a suggestion. I am sure there is a tourist bureau . Why not hit them up for a job. You really do a great job inspiring.
Fun mini series Kim, images 2,4 and the last one, silhouette outside the castle worked best for me👍 Bring on Harris & Lewis
Cheers Mark and thanks for letting me know which images you liked to best.
love image number 2 Kim, awesome shot, and enjoyed your video, something different and creative 😀
Thanks Shelley! Always nice to hear what photo people liked the best. Glad you enjoyed it

Images 6.31 & 6.38 would look great B&W...I thoroughly love the vlog, you Dracula might have had some long teeth with him !!so good to see a photographer enjoying playing about..

Thank you Joy - I will try to! :)
fangs for the video Kim!
HAHA loved this comment :)
Jeez Kim you can run getting yourself in that first photo 🏃♀️
What a gentleman he was carrying your gear at the end.
An enjoyable fun video Kim with some great photos.
But no smoke, you have to go back at some point. Lol
Looking forward to seeing your next videos.
Be safe
Thanks Anthony and yes - very gentlemanly :) I hope I do make it back at some point. Maybe during mist/fog to make a natural smokey and eerie effect
Good video and some good ideas there, maybe try some mono edits of the photos.
Thanks Adam :) I've never really been a fan of mono images but it is something I would like to experiment with soon.
Nice pics Kim 👍
Kim, what camera rucksack to you use please?... Love the Vlog... Thanks.
Will need to check out official name. All I know iOS that it's a Lower bag
Fun shots - perhaps you could find room in your backpack for a 'goth' dress for yourself for the selfies! :-) Though how you'd manage the run into position would be a problem!
@12:16 having him in the window behind you
#2
Looks like you had a great time Kim I liked the self portraits :D I liked your idea of having Ed dressed as Dracula and the shots were interesting :D Maybe some of the Dracula shots would look good in B&W too ? and(not a criticism) just a couple of small points......maybe spot out that distracting white logo on Ed's t shirt ? Flash or some sort of light would have helped make it even more dramatic! Loved your enthusiasm and I hope you enjoy your island journey thanks for sharing this with us :D Teddy
Thanks for your opinions Teddy. It's always interesting to hear others ideas. I've never really been a fan of black and white photography but it is something I'm interested in experimenting with soon.
Kim,
I like your mindset for the shoot but is it not the case to be authentic that your 'Dracula' theme was set in the proper light. After all, the movies I watched, light was supposedly bad for your character..? Especially that scene looking up within the tower where the evening light is quite bright??...that's a kiss o death for a vampire.
All the "selfie" photos were great, except one, that with you reaching out in the sky from inside the dungeon. I didn't like it because your shirt was visible and it ruined the concept. I also think that black and white would go well there. From the Dracula photos I like the last one, you nailed both the size of the castle and that he is "the boss". The one with him looking up inside the round walls would have been amazing if it was in black and white and he had a more serious look. Again, beautiful place, beautiful photos!!! 😀
Sorry - the Dracula theme didn't do much for me - and your friend is no Chistopher Lee, he said, giving away his advancing years!
But you are right about the Castle being worth some photographic effort, and you could be onto something with idea of including figures in some shots, just as long as they don't become The Subject. I think their costume should be subdued and as 'undateable' as possible.
My favourite image from this venture is at 6.27, you sitting, looking pensive in the passageway. Very moody!
You need more practice at the 100 yard dash
Your a nutter ... lol
cutie girl 😉
