@@cenciende9401 It's really annoying to have to change the master volume for the device until I can change the in-game volume and then readjust the device volume. That's wild cus this is honestly one of the WORST games I've ever played. Shitty uninspired boring ass combat that felt like it was from 2005. The "game" is also 98% cutscene and the story is trying way too hard to force you to like some dumb kid and jumped around way too much.
I love FF16. All the haters gone hate. It’s good to try different things with the franchise. As someone whose fav FF was 8 until 16, I’m okay without the turn base.
I hated ff16 but I do appreciate them trying new things. It didn’t work for me but I can’t hate on them trying to innovate. Good on them and good on those who enjoyed it. Banging soundtrack I’ll admit that
@@fedbia2003 FF8, although still close to my heart, it being my first FF, but to put it plainly FF16 lit my heart up in a way 8 did not. FF16 was on another level of vibe for me. I was invested in EVERY aspect. Love the mechanics, the action gameplay, the different move sets and powers, story, battles, cut scenes memorable moments and characters. Even the side missions folks said were mundane I enjoyed every last one of them. It’s just a damn good game. In retrospect, my opinion could be a tad objective since I only have one play through of both. FF8 was my childhood. Different mindset and all that jazz. 🤔 now that I’m older I should replay FF8 and see if it ignites me in the way FF16 does. However currently FF16 all day. ❤️
The thing I've always liked about the FF series in general is how each entry is so different from one another. Ever since FF7, for better or worse, Square takes big risks in changing the formula. You can't really say that about a lot of long-running franchises.
As much as I love this game, I can`t bring myself to play it more than once. There's so huge pacing issues. Even then, the main setpieces are absolutely outstanding, and there's clearly a level of polish and detail applied to most things they did in this game.
@@synisterv7703 Most of the side quests are shit and the crafting system is shit. Combat got boring for me after about 46 hours cause it's just using attacks waiting for them them to cool down while spamming dodge and basic attack. Still, despite all of that, I loved the game's main story, the music in this game is straight godly, the combat is flashy and cool looking, the titan fights are maximum anime in a good way (i'll never forget fighting Bahamut in space), etc. Solid 8/10 game.
@@ThwipThwipBoomI'd agree with all that except for the comments on combat. I got a lot of enjoyment from trying to calculate which attacks caused the most damage, which order I should use them and which ones I should boost with items to ensure efficiency with cooldowns. Because you might not give it the time and focus it needs. We are more and more used to getting enjoyment every 7 seconds. A game that might take an hour to get started and 10 more to build up does not work if you dont get rid of this 7 seconds fun mindset. At least thats what I could observe on myself
@SquareTales This is true but i dont think its the same situation im in , Im just exhausted of these games with almost nothing new but a re-themed or re-skined games .
@thelastvigil111 Because a large portion of these scenes actually have hard cap on fps. FF16 uses both cgi and real time render. That's why even with the mod, fps in cutscenes still often jump between static 30fps cgi and your normal fps. Sometimes even have certain characters in normal fps while the background in pre-render 30fps cgi.And they chose to lock cutscenes fps on 30 because cgi file size bloated as fps increases, and blue-ray disc simply doesn't have enough capacity for the amount of cutscenes in this game.
@@EduFirenze i really dont get this mentality, devs need to understand that that should be an OPTION, not mandatory. Legit, every single game that has 30fps custcense when the game is 60+ are worse experiences because of it
@@joshsmith7033Since when are all games supposed to be difficult? If you wanted a hard game, FF isn't for you. There hasn't been a difficult mainline entry since FF5.
For those who’re not familiar with this genre and are on the edge, this was my first final fantasy. This game is a banger, enjoyed every bit from the first to last minute
Is it more like a devil may cry game or are there still rpg systems in it like classes, different weapon types, armor choices, stats and leveling? Thinking about getting it and I don't mind a more action focus but if it is only combat for combat's sake and little to no progression or build variety I still have dmc 5 in my library I need to play anyway.
Seeing so much FFXVI love in this comment section makes me unbelievably happy. This game deserves the love. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did, PC bros.
None? Lol I think you are the first and last FF fan to ever say that. Also, how you could listen to Vanille and Hope speak without being disappointed is very respectable. You have a superpower
Facts. All the FF games I've played have been great. I've liked all the FF13 as well as FF10-2 and loved them. FF9 was the only one that came close to being a disappointment for me, but it was still a good game. I don't play MMOs, so I've no experience with FF11 or FF14.
FF16 one of my favourite ones of the series by far! Incredible story, amazing way to contextualize FF elements into a believable and part of the plot (e.g. summons, choccobos, etc), really nice world, amazing characters, amazing fighting style!
Played FF III on SNES in the 90s and have bought and played everyone since going through each system I sat out and waited for this to come to PC I am not spending money on a system I don't need to play a game that I can play on a system the created said game. With that said I'm loving the game so far for those that played the originals when they came out can see nods to the classics and instant nostalgia was hit so coming off the FF XV and FFVII Remake (NOT REBIRTH STILL WAITING) having to adapt to the fast past action wasn't a problem from me Also being a seasoned gamer I don't want to keep playing the same kind of mechanics in a game in my late 30s that I did as a kid I do want to be challenged but still be immersed in the game/story/ and characters in the game and this has done exactly that which is a rare to find in games these days and for that I say thank you SE from an Old School original Nintendo loving Final Fantasy fan I'm more then happy to pay full price for a game like this. Just sad I had to wait a whole year to be able to enjoy a game that could have been played promoted and shared by a fans like me when it original came out

This is what I was imagining when I first played FFX. I straight up didn't run into any issues playing it on pc. Long time ff fan here. I've played every main line game and this game was amazing.
Super excited to get home and play this today, especially after this review! Although I could have done without the reminder that ffx is TWENTY years old 😭
Man, I always love it when Falcon puts a bit more emotion and jokes into his BYB's lol another beautifully narrated review. and I actually LOVED the beta and I'm hyped I waited till it dropped on PC to finally play it. Glad to see the things I enjoyed stay prevalent throughout the entirety of the game. Thanks for vid, G Ranx!
I have had nothing but performance issues with this port. I must be in the minority on this one but I got constant stuttering and cutscenes dropping to low teens in FPS was terrible. I have heard there is a mod that might be able to help alleviate this, but I will wait and maybe SE will fix some of it. I have returned it for now. 3080 TI / 129000k Not the latest and greatest, but should be able to chug along with cutscenes at 30FPS at 4k.
Bro that’s more then enough. I still got friends on 2 series that run new games fine. Fuck I’m running it on a 3060 at max settings with no problems and an i5 lmao
As a PC player, being able to adjust settings before the game kicks off is HUGE. Especially audio, because the audio settings are usually not mixed to my liking (i.e. music way too loud).
i'm a huge FF tactics fan, i have the ps1 disk pinned on my wall lol so let me give you some recomendations while we wait Tactics ogre - this one is just like ff tactics Fae Tactics - some game from years ago that no one heard about, but it's great, it simplifies the formula, it's faster and fun Sword of convallaria - it's an android gacha game, but you can skip the gacha part and play a story mode that's called "spiral of destinies", it's a really nice surprise, and it's free.
Honestly, having seen more-less how it was on PlayStation, I couldn't wait to get it PC. Knew already what I was getting myself into. It's both refreshing & a experience to play this. Running max settings 4K@60 on a 7950x/4080 system & I highly recommend this amazing dark-fantasy title.
A game of high high and some mid mids better. Because the worst parts of this game isn't bad at all, just annoying pacing in some parts that DON'T ruin the full experience.
@@ZephWraen And that's ok. Many games have highs and mids/lows. The latter makes you appreciate the former even more. If everything is great then nothing is.
If you haven’t played FF16. Please do it 😭. It’s very cutscene and story driven. But it’s fantastic as an action game like Falcon said. One of my standouts last year.
Final Fantasy is usually pretty cutscene heavy and they are well done here. I don’t think thats a pro or con. Just personal preference. This game does have plenty of gameplay just lacks in variety.
One of my favorite stories when I played last year. Go in expecting a powerful hero tale in a desolate world, and you'll have a blast with the highs Skip the unimportant side quests when you start getting fatigued by them. You're not gonna miss out on much

For real. The idea that we have to go from 1080p as the standard to 4k, is pure stupidity. No console can do that and won't even on next gen. Not native anyway. Pc was smart and has been 1440p for awhile now
@@taylon5200 lol isn't the whole idea with PC that there is no standard per say you just kind of go with what suits your hardware / monitor? It's more accurate to say 720p to 4K is the standard depending on your hardware.
you can thank nvidia for that. ai frame generation is bullshit. its just another shortcut and its starting to show with how intense and demanding the developers are making games now a days. theres no substitute for native frames.
Expectations are so crucial for this game. For a lot of older final fantasy fans, it's pretty different. I would argue that final fantasy has always been a franchise that switches things up, but that's a different conversation. If you don't really like what you see or are on the fence, I don't blame anyone for not wanting to gouge $70 out of their wallet That being said, being a pretty new final fantasy fan having really hit my stride with 14 and 7R, then going back in time to play others; This game truly felt like everything they promised, and everything I wanted it to be and more. I honestly can't think of anything about the game that straight out contradicts what was promised to us during interviews, trailers, panels, ect. Some may not love the story, it's not my favorite but I think it's good, but really, you have to know what you're getting into. Because personally, it was one of my favorite gaming experiences ever. I won't say which ones, but three big boss fights in a row kept being my new favorite boss fight in any game ever
This game was an absolute experience. The Bahamut/Ifrit fight alone was enough for SE to take my money. 30+ years of gaming and I had never witnessed such an epic battle since that one. PC gamers rejoice you are in for a treat with FFXVI
Sony makes good PC ports, don't know why you are surprised. The Forbidden West, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man, etc. ports were all extremely well done.
Buyed it on a whim. Didn't interested me when it first released. I tough I wouldn't liked it but... im 5 hours in and i freaking love it. The quality of everything is so high. Also im in love with Cid and I'm a manly man😂
..the only dislike about it is the elemental weakness and resistance has been removed when that's one of the staple combat mechanics of the FF. Apart from that I love it. Of course, I cant hide the fact that the eikon battles brought back the thrill and excitement I felt from FFXV. God I still remember the Titan and Leviathan fights. Epic!
The eikon battles were a spectacle, but I disliked that they were all quick time events. There are only a couple of boss battles in the entire game that you get to finish without transforming, so it gets a little repetitive.
No idea why they did that. Clive's class already mirrors the Mystic Knight/Sorcerer from FFV, a great opportunity for it. Stripping away a mechanical system rather than refining it is something I've noticed developers doing of late.
That’s sad to hear as it has very little in common with any in the series compared to the others. Every FF is different but they all had that RPG DNA. 16 is a good game but a poor FF, IMO.

I played FF X back on PS2 and the FF7 demo (which to me seemed quite challenging with the robot boss fight), but this one being (I think) open world I love and getting to pet dogs?!
FF16 was my GOTY last year! The characters, story and world building are amazing. The only downside with the combat is that its not difficult and raising the difficulty seems to only give more HP to the enemies without making the combat encounters more challenging (kinda just waste more of your time).
I played the demo b/c the progress is saved between it and the game proper. I heard the first chapter is so slow that I figured I'd give the demo a shot and that way if I do decide to get the full game I'd be past the slow bit.
I love that this game doesn’t force a large open-world on the player for no reason. Too many games want you to live in the world and spend way too much time in it. The game has a story to tell and damn does it do it well. 10/10 game for me.
If you find the game too easy when you beat it, try the New Game + Final Fantasy Mode, its way more fun. You will carry your progress over. "Final Fantasy Mode is the most challenging difficulty in Final Fantasy 16. It is meant for people who want to enjoy fast-paced combat with added hardness. Players wanting to play Final Fantasy Mode will find the option to do so on the main menu of the game. After starting the game in this particular mode, players will see an increase in the power of the enemies. Furthermore, the map will also see some enemies spawn at different places. The increase in the power level of the enemies will be a challenge to the skill of the players."

Boss battles become even more insane and breathtaking after 30% of main story campaign. The scale of the battles alone makes you feel like you're one of the godzilla size Eikons.
Such a fun game!! I played it after rebirth and love the main protagonist of 16. Clive and the world around him is great. The only thing i missed was the option to control other characters beside him to change things up.
You should blame CBU3 for that. Apparently pushing a button in real time party combat to switch could be "inaccessible" to some. It would've been much better if the team researching for this game had ignored the chatter about "inaccessibility".
It still amazes me how far we’ve come. Started playing FF in 92 playing FF5 with my dad when it was released on the SNES. I was 14 then and now 46. Really looking forward to playing this an hour at a time once the kids are asleep. My kids only interest gaming wise is fortnight and vbucks RPG’s are boring so they tell me
Im a bit hesitant to buy since I found out it wasn't open world anymore, the game is extremely linear and the main gameplay is just slashing at enemies. Yet I see a lot of people praising it. FF15 was my first FF and I really loved exploring the world in that game so I may wait it out until FF16 is on sale.
I dont think you will regret playing this especially at a discounted price. I had low expectations when my brother bought it for my birthday. It has been an absolute blast to play, though a bit too easy, but that doesnt stop you from wanting to see the story unfold. And let me tell you... its one hell of a story
The open world in 15 wasn’t good tbh and the devs of 16 were open from the beginning that it wasn’t open world. You’re not missing much, it 16 works much better as a semi linear world map. 7 rebirth is the only FF with a good open world.
My only problem was tbh the world was extra bleak and not one I liked to explore, also felt little worth in exploring the zones they provided. But great combat and I have a blast in fights. So GREAT GAME (you may get a lil sad)
I'm as long time FF fan as it gets been playing since IV and XVI is giving me the type of thing i wanted a medieval FF with great character that i grew to love over my XVI playthroughs
Glad you had a good time with the PC port, but im having a hell of a time trying to even hit 60fps. Game will randomly stop using my Cpu and chug at like 20fps
I want to support buying this on PC as I've already 100%d it on PS5, but I also want to wait to see how easy it is to actually mod before I purchase. I have a feeling this game will be near impossible to mod what people usually like modding; and it'll only open itself up to basic texture pallets and shaders. The kind of mods I'd LIKE to see are: 1. Character swaps without animation and rigging issues. 2. Script mods to allow custom Hunts, enemy layouts and AI behavior. 3. Complete model exporting, editing, and importing without the executable blocking whatever isn't "ingrained" into its desired "DNA."
@@wahdangun If it's easy to mod, we would have already seen a basic character import. People love swapping characters out with generic anime girls from other games lol.
Honestly my only complaint with this game is it’s almost too easy…but loving it. Anyone who says “oh this isn’t like the old final fantasy’s” well no shit. Square has been going away from TB combat since 15 and they have been extremely upfront about it. If you want this game but in turn based combat go play triangle strategy (also a great game)
@IndigoVagrant THE price isn't the issue. Denuvo is a program that prevents piracy. The issue with it is it effects performance and what's even better is these games (with Denuvo) usually get hacked and pirated within a month. It's basically anti-consumer and the way I see it I may as well wait for a low price.
Combat is so great in this game. Once you get towards maxing your character, you will only think of how to layer your skills and combos for maximum damage and combos. Really satisfying. I would say I encountered a similar effect in Hogwarts Legacy in a weird way.
I actually LOVE this game. I would dare say it is my 2nd favorite after FF7. Before this X and VIII were tied for 2nd. I installed it on my PC last night but didn't get much time to play it. Looking forward to tonight.
I'm not saying it has to be souls lever difficult. I'm saying ANY CHALLANGE AT ALL would be nice. You might as well just play Solitaire rather than this dumpster fire.
@alexowens7032 I suggest you try the free demo and decide for yourself. FF games aren't directly connected to each other most of the time so there's no real correct starting point. I know people who got into the frandchise through 16 and love it so feel free to give it a shot.
I'm in the same boat as you, and I think it's pretty cool. Lots of "fantasy" and magic lawl. I like the combat system and the story is pretty neat so far. I'd say go for it 🤷♂️
I absolutely hated this game at launch, but I played it anyway, now it might be tied for 1st as one of my all time favorite games. When you let go of expectation, and accept things as they are, it allows you to see things objectively. And objectively this is a solid game all around. But in my heart this has to be one of the best games with such a beautiful story and conclusion that has left my inspired and feeling around a better person after playing it. Despite my dislike of sidequests/pacing, I think it has bloat or at least thats what I thought my first play through, but once i beat the game it all clicked. It all came together even the most insignificant fetch quest had meaning in the end, that to me is something few games master and try so damn hard. Just to add, yes I am a final fantasy fan boy, and yes my favorite FF's were FF VIII & VII be nice haha.
It could have been better if another team was in control. In past interviews, CBU3 admits to intentionally gimping the real time party gameplay because some players might have thought it was too "inaccessible".

You either love FF16 or hate FF16 it seems. I absolutely adore the game, the story is damn near perfection, the voice acting is fantastic and has so much emotion, the game itself looks amazing visually (even in the second half IMO). It's very easy to get immersed and when you do its AMAZING, and IMO when I play my story games, I want to feel like I'm in the game alongside the MC, and Final Fantasy 16 does that beautifully (or at least in my opinion)
The only games that deserve hate are Custer's Revenge and other like trash. If a game is really as bad or as good as people say it should be obvious from a historical view of video games. FF overall is an overrated franchise and hasn’t outshined its contemporaries over the decades, outside from a few signature elements that earned its fame: flashy visuals, summons, and an evolving narrative structure. And it seems Square Enix is still relying on them in FF16. Not a good look.
It's a great game that deserves a large following .I would love this formula to get expanded on .Perhaps a giant expansion or a sequel with tweaks .It would be a shame to scrap all of these assets and start from scratch like they do in Square Enix.
I just spent three and a half hours playing the demo, (2 hours on the story chunk, and an hour an a half repeatedly doing the challenge). I'm going to buy the full game in the near future, absolutely loved the demo. the big question is, will I also enjoy FF7? the full remake/remaster is available for half off rn

this game looks amazing holy, I've never played a FF game before (I just bought XIII) and this one looks like a ton of fun. definitely going to check this out
I can't understand how people trash talk this game and praise FF rebirth. This game has one of the best plots and cinematic stories of any game I've ever played while the much beloved rebirth felt like it had no substance or purpose other than being a fever dream for weebs.
I think rebirth had much better combat, but this game blows it away in terms of story and cinematics fs. Open world is pretty eh on both, but rebirth had better side quests
I'm in the same boat man. I enjoyed my time with rebirth as a fan of the OG, but it kinda ruins a lot of what I loved about the original. And also all the repetitive tasks (stealthing on chocobos, climbing towers, all the mini games) just make it feel like a Ubisoft game. Even side quests are praised in rebirth when some of them are just tedious (the chicken lol), while some of the side quests in FF16 are mundane too, those smaller quests all take like 5-10 minutes to finish so anyone complaining about quests in 16 but enjoy Rebirths are really blind fanboys. but why? They're both great games, but some people think you have to put one game down so the other can rise and they're so brain dead if they think that way.
I like both a lot but they have different strengths and weaknesses. Def agree with you on the story for 16 being incredible. On Rebirth, it was refreshing to have playable party members, a wider variety of environments and gameplay mechanics, more customization, quirky moments, and fun side quests. I could keep going lol.
if the combat feels familiar to anyone, because the combat director for this game is Ryota Suzuki, he was the combat director for DMC 5, arguably the best DMC to date

@@grimblade888 That shouldn't have to be the solution to the problem. That a random mod maker can make it possible to increase fps just hours after the game released.
Banging soundtrack I’ll admit that
My favorite is 8 too. Why has this replaced it?
I played it on ps5. What a game. Absolutely worth the money. I bet it's even better on pc.
It sucks
Playing my 2nd run on PS5 and I don't see any downsides, this game is amazing and I haven't even gotten to the DLC'S yet.
Glad you are enjoying it, I played the demo on Ps5 and didn’t really enjoy it.
There is mod out that uncaps the 30 FPS in the cutscenes. This is a highly recommended mod.

Shocking that Falcon uses his wings on the keyboard instead of his talons
The unlock FPS mod by Lyall is a requirement in this game due to the amount of cutscenes.
It is a must have. 30fps is atrocious.
@thelastvigil111some devs opt on 30fps to give the cutscenes a cinematic feel
@thelastvigil111 Because a large portion of these scenes actually have hard cap on fps. FF16 uses both cgi and real time render. That's why even with the mod, fps in cutscenes still often jump between static 30fps cgi and your normal fps. Sometimes even have certain characters in normal fps while the background in pre-render 30fps cgi.And they chose to lock cutscenes fps on 30 because cgi file size bloated as fps increases, and blue-ray disc simply doesn't have enough capacity for the amount of cutscenes in this game.
I use Lossless Scaling, works wonders

A game of high high and some mid mids better. Because the worst parts of this game isn't bad at all, just annoying pacing in some parts that DON'T ruin the full experience.
I wouldn't say the lows are low lows. Just when it's mid, it's REALLY mid. But the highs make slogging through the boring bits worth it, IMO.

Expectations are so crucial for this game. For a lot of older final fantasy fans, it's pretty different.

The open world in 15 wasn’t good tbh and the devs of 16 were open from the beginning that it wasn’t open world. You’re not missing much, it 16 works much better as a semi linear world map. 7 rebirth is the only FF with a good open world.

I want to support buying this on PC as I've already 100%d it on PS5, but I also want to wait to see how easy it is to actually mod before I purchase. I have a feeling this game will be near impossible to mod what people usually like modding; and it'll only open itself up to basic texture pallets and shaders.
The kind of mods I'd LIKE to see are:
1. Character swaps without animation and rigging issues.
2. Script mods to allow custom Hunts, enemy layouts and AI behavior.
3. Complete model exporting, editing, and importing without the executable blocking whatever isn't "ingrained" into its desired "DNA."
what ? its actually easy to mod, there are mod that remove 30fps restriction on cut scene

I'm annoyed it has Denuvo. It's definitely going to effect the game's performance..... I'm definitely waiting for a GOOD sale mark down.
To be fair, this isn't a bad price for a game this good.
The game is broken. The difficulty is literally 0. Its a HUGE snooze fest. I didn't die once. Such a disappointment. 4 out of 10.
I'm not saying it has to be souls lever difficult. I'm saying ANY CHALLANGE AT ALL would be nice. You might as well just play Solitaire rather than this dumpster fire.
I enjoyed the game on the PS5 and when I found out it was coming to PC I sold my steel book copy.
Is this worth it if I have never played a final fantasy game before
@alexowens7032 I suggest you try the free demo and decide for yourself. FF games aren't directly connected to each other most of the time so there's no real correct starting point. I know people who got into the frandchise through 16 and love it so feel free to give it a shot.
I wouldn't start with FF16
you are in for a wild ride
Yea this is the most casual friendly and theres a demo
@@ganshrio7336 Yeah for sure, it isnt perfect and could be better, but it has a really strong foundation. I do also wonder if another team could take this and bring it to the next level like we got in remake/rebirth
Hoping it’s further optimized down the line but those 30 fps cutscenes are … noticeable
They are cinematic cutscenes, most videogames cut scenes are 30 or 40 fps
theres a mod to make cutscenes 60fps
Theres a fix apparently for that and ultrawide.
@fenixloder It's still very noticeable. They're almost headache inducing in destiny 2's case.
it has denuvo which by historical evidence decreases the performance by 20-30% minimum
Best FF since hmmmmmm 10? Yup. Wanted an Old England style game like this for years, it has Shiva and Ifrit so great for me. IMO its the best FF game since FF9 on the PS1.
Can't wait for final fantasy 7 rebirth on pc😊
already available on steam
@@yulianurannisanugroho9808no it’s not 💀 REMAKE is on steam, Rebirth literally just came out like 6 months ago. we’re gonna have to wait at least a few more months for a PC announcement
@@yulianurannisanugroho9808 Your thinking of remake. Rebirth is still only on playstation.
On that note i find it extremely bizzare how quiet square has been with giving out info on a potential ff7 rebirth pc port, despite the fact they explicitly said they want to shift to a more multiplatorm buisness strategy aggresively. Hope we get some news soon.
Same here... I really hope someone will mod the water. Running around on the Highwind where the water actually looks great would be bad @ss...
Also, if it's to be believed, a VR mod should come too, eventually.
@@yulianurannisanugroho9808are you from the future?
I'm playing it on my laptop and it's awesome. I love the story and characters. Gameplay is repetitive but the boss fights are awesome. Music is fantastic. Solid 8.
I will never get tired of Falcon, the UA-cam bird. He's just the BIRD, get it
Talking about the OTT eikon battles and not having the bahamut fight be the background was criminal!
One of the best FF games of all time and best soundtracks, and definitely best voice acting. If you enjoy FF, you will love this game. (if you're a salty boomer that thinks rock-paper-scissors level turn-based strategy from old games defines the ff series, then maybe skip because you don't like FF)
It’s the 18th and I can’t wait to wrap up work and get home to play this probably all night. I watched a demo playthrough when it released on PS and was so impressed that I bought a PS5 just to play it on PS. But I truly am a PC gamer so I’m super stoked to replay on PC. I saved all the dlcs for PC release. Also as an extra bonus I just bought God of War Ragnarök on PC so this is going to be a great ass month of gaming for me!
Great review. I actually want to play this now
The most bizarre thing is that Falcon does not use pre-recorded outro and says it every time from scratch.
This might be the only Final Fantasy I've ever been interested in.
I really don't understand why developers are so fascinated by the ctrl and alt keys. Those keys are awful to reach for in the middle of combat.
what, those keys are some of the easiest to reach, (at least for me) in most game I put ALT to use mic or if it's single player then I put at least something on them
On my old keyboard, it was a nightmare. I just got a new one, and it's much easier to reach on it.
Alt good for opening maps, thats about it
They're pretty great keys actually, but NOT for something very frequent like dodge, they also routinely mess up what right-click should be
lol
this game looks amazing holy, I've never played a FF game before (I just bought XIII) and this one looks like a ton of fun. definitely going to check this out
I can't understand how people trash talk this game and praise FF rebirth. This game has one of the best plots and cinematic stories of any game I've ever played while the much beloved rebirth felt like it had no substance or purpose other than being a fever dream for weebs.
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug
I could keep going lol.
combat in remake and rebirth is like 1000x better than 16. Not even close.
Download the stutter and performance fix to enjoy the game better.
if the combat feels familiar to anyone, because the combat director for this game is Ryota Suzuki, he was the combat director for DMC 5, arguably the best DMC to date
I liked FFXV more, that was like one of the best games ever imo, but i love FFXVI too so much
im half way through the game my problem with it is that its just too easy, not that I'm a great gamer or enjoy difficult games or anything but I'm just mashing attack button and nothing else without any actual challenge its just kinda boring
The voice acting is amazing.
Running this with 7900xtx on lg c1. 4K fsrQ fgON, locked in at 120fps. Fantastic experience 👌
But you still have to suffer through the very noticeable 90fps difference in the locked 30fps cutscenes.
@@ollie8788 mods: *exists*
@@grimblade888 That shouldn't have to be the solution to the problem. That a random mod maker can make it possible to increase fps just hours after the game released. Seems like an avoidable issue to have to contend with if the developer can just put an employee to work a few more hours to have it run at a higher fps. I'm glad that it is fixable, just annoyed that it's a problem that needs fixing.
@@ollie8788 it was intended that way from what i've read. tbf on consoles 60->30 fps isnt as noticeable and consoles have more room for better quality cutscenes. Regarding PC, based on steam statistics, only around 4% of steam users have machines capable of 4k gaming, machines capable of 4k 120fps is even less i'd imagine. Based on this I believe devs decided to keep the 30fps cap on pc. But that's what's great about pc. For any minor devs oversight someone does a day1 mod. No hard feelings there tbh.
