They finished the season after the ending 100% because they wanted to instantly end on "see you later" like she's talking to us and I fucking love that
I really looked back at this anime after this episode and I came to conclusion... its 10/10. It cant be anything else. I lived it from the start. Marin is the complete 180 to your typical anime girl trope. Yes, she has a LOT of fan service. But like this one snime reviewer said: she is always in control. And Gojo... my all time favorite anime male protag. He is THE best boy. God I love this anime. I have nothing bad to say about this anime. But I do realize that it has a lot of elements that will push back a lot of viewers and I get it. Its completely fine. Not everything is for everyone.

My dress up darling is a good wholesome anime that definitely deserves a second season. And the fireworks in this episode is some of the best I’ve seen in anime.

Didn't expect My Dress-Up Darling to be one of the best Anime from Winter 2022.
4:00 I think the scene they animated was the ending of one of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies where leather face is dancing in the road as the Mc escapes on the back of a truck.

i was also confused as to why it was so short but i checked, my initial reaction of the whole ending was "wholesome" and i was crying too, truly a very moderate, not-crazy, realistic ending that didnt end in them being in a relationship that quick, that "i love you" was wholesome.

Tbh when I watched the entire series, the fanservice content felt more like a supporting sideshow than a major highlight reel.
The series was so good in showing how well the character relationships and dynamics were handled. The characters genuinely feel believable and even relatable. The idea of cosplay was nicely presented. The story progression is slow but steady. Some of the episodes were VERY well directed. Gojo and Marin aren't just any bareboned cardboard protagonists like some of these fools on the internet claim they are...they're actually very understanding and kind and genuinely want to help others out.
Overall, this series was almost flawless imho. I hope it gets s2 in the near future.
I'm gonna miss this show... I had so much fun time with it and had some WILD episodea as well like ep 2,6 and 11 were on ANOTHER LEVEL! 🤣🤣
2 was supposed to show that Gojo had to keep his job on a proffessional level to be around Marin, 6 was weird as heck and the fact that she tried say some shit about wht happened in the bathroom so Gojo could make the outfit was crazy but in real life some girls would do that, 11 was all because of the coosplay Marin was doing and the place they took it in.
The money for this episode definitely went to the fireworks and the chainsaw massacre tribute

I wouldn't mind if they have at least a 1 year gap before the next season. The manga only comes out once or twice a month so burning through the source material would just be bad, in general. Besides, with the quality of animation they've been able to pull off with this series, those animators deserve a break and all the praise they're getting from everyone
@@statixfear Yeah, I'm fine with it if it's like Kaguya with one year and few months between seasons. When I was saying too long I thought more like 3 or even 4 years. And of course, props to the animators for this amazing anime.
@@SoranoOuranos I agree. Though, with how successful this anime has been, I doubt CloverWorks would pass up the opportunity to "strike while the iron is hot". My main worry is that internal issues within the studio might either delay the next season or, worst case scenario, the show gets passed on to a different studio. The latter I'd only be okay with if the studio that continues the series is on par with or even better than what CloverWorks managed to pull off for season 1.
@@statixfear Makes me remember what happened to One Punch Man... hope that My Dress-up Darling won't get that treatment. One thing I also saw is that the manga didn't have enough material yet (if I remember well, season 1 adapted 39 or 40 chapters and there is currently 73) so it might take a little bit more time.
@@SoranoOuranos Exactly. And besides, from snippets I've seen in the later chapters, there hasn't been any significant progress with Marin and Gojo's relationship yet. There's heavy focus on the cosplay aspect after the Cultural Festival arc and the romance takes a back seat. Not that it's a bad thing, considering it is the whole premise of the series, but I would love it if they got to a certain point where they take the next steps forward and it gets to be animated in the next season. But, for now, it's just another waiting game.
Dress up darling, Princess Connect, land of leadale, and Wisemen pupil, man, suck a great 3month of fun anime . I know there was a couple I miss I can now binge, but man, I hope to find more fun in the new stuff

(All of this is according to the Great Oracle and Possessor of All Knowledge Google...) The age of consent is really complicated in Japan. The nationwide law is 13 years, but that is overridden almost everywhere by local statutes that make it effectively 16 to 18. From what I've just seen in a search the national law has just changed lowering the age of majority from 20 to 18 and raising the minimum marriage age (even with parental permission) of women to match men from 16 to 18. So now you are no longer considered in custody of your parents at 18 instead of 20 and you can sign legal documents. There is concern that 18-year-old high school girls could be tricked/forced into p*rnography (before you had to be 20 to legally "star" in one of these films).

The fan service for this one is all because of the genre - ecchi. Compared to other genres it’s less out of place but I get that it can still be too much for people. Also insane animation for all the fanservice. Some of the craziest body animation
Last chapter in the manga was hilarious and the next will be dumb funny as well...but if we are lucky something great will come out of it.
I am not expecting any development in romance until Gojou realizes that he isnt just some guy Marin knows.
