I use the same process for all my boots. Saddle soap. Oil. Conditioner. Polish. In that order. The most important thing is the final step. Several coats of polish over several days. That builds up a nice layer of wax to protect the leather from the elements.
I just bought my first pair of leather boots (1000 mile courtland), how often should a boot be cleaned/conditioned/polished? Is this a monthly habit, or only when I notice the boot has gone through the certain conditions?
No, the Wolverine 1000 Mile boots he was demonstrating are definitely fashion boots. The insides are spartan leather like a pair of dress shoes and they have leather soles like a good pair of dress shoes. I feel sorry for anyone who has to do actual hard work in a pair of these; though I probably shouldn't because if they're willing to spend $350 on them then that's their prerogative.
GABRIEL CRAFT I immediately blackened mine! It’s so hard to find all black boots, so that was my compromise. I dislike contrast stitching and really do not care for the light brown midsole but they are beautifully designed, expertly constructed and super comfortable (plus they’re made in Michigan)! To each, his own (boot).
Brandon Arnold Wolverine does make a full line of actual Work boots and they are much more affordable than the 1000 Mile Boot. The 1000 M is definitely a dress/casual boot, for those who don’t like dress shoes or just want something that fits their sense of style.
I have a 1000 Mile in Gold Horween (Hoween Cavalier) leather. As I saw in the Homepage, the leather is similar to normal brown Horween Chromexcel but is not the same. So what product should I use to take care of my boots? Conditioner, Mink oil, or Cream? Thanks
Hello Wolverine. I have made a few videos on your boots, with over 100,000 combined views. I would like to work together to do something exciting for the 1,000 mile line up. Let me know. Thanks.
considering you only have 300 subs, it's safe to say people are more interested in seeing how a boot holds up over time or how to maintain their boots. you just happen to own a channel that made a few of those videos. they could partner with anybody to do that.
I have been wearing Wolverine work boots since 1983 but now not no MORE they have stopped making the styled I wore. To bad because I always put people onto them.
my wolverine boots are 5 mths old right side is already squeaking.. $180.00 waste of money will not buy again..store wont do anything about it im so pissed
You didn't buy 1000 mile Horween leather Wolves? That price point is way off, and squeaking? You can't be talking about these boots. You should make a video if you still got em. I would love to see them. Quality, made in America is what this boot is about, and Wolverine cannot let us down.
He may have good intentions but the way he just carelessly applies the welt dressing getting it on the boot and rushing through the whole thing was honestly hard to watch. May be it’s just me.
It's a black boot he seems to use asa daily driver and not a dress boot. He's keeping it simple and showing you don't have to baby them. Totally cool if you're the boot version of a sneakerhead who loves keeping them pristine, but that's not the message he's sending or honestly the kind of boot this is. For most of us it's about prolonging the life of the boot and keeping it presentable enough. In my opinion this demo nails exactly what MOST folks want to know and are willing to do. Props though to the purists with the passion for every detail.

He has a very endearing personality, and you can tell he loves his job
I am looking forward to my first three pair of Wolverine boots...due for delivery today.
I love my wolverines! I have 1 pair of 1000 miles and 1 pair of km boots. Best boots ever!
This is such a beatiful video. I'm not sure why I feel that way, but I do.
I was thinking of dying the white stitching on my Evan boots black to make polishing way easier.
Every time this vid comes across my timeline, I watch it and then grab my 1000 miles and at least brush them.
What are the boot care products that Roger uses in the video? Thanks!

That was nice but seeing that contrasting stitching get blacked was painful
I like the way it gets blacked
Theyre work boots not fashion statements.

I’m not clear on what you do on the welt leather and stitching. Isn’t this chromexcel leather. I’ve never polished mine.
Does anyone know the polish stick thing he used on the welt and sole edge?
Looks to be Kiwi Instant Shine & Protect, Brown
The secret behind the greatness of Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots: Nietzsche helping with product development!
Sweet vid.
Does anyone know what brand the edge sealer he's using in the video is?
Kiwi. You can buy at drug stores and grocery stores.

How the beep are you getting the conditioner in between the welt and the upper with a cloth? Answer: you don't. You need a brush god damn.
