    Great flight as always. The takeoff seemed steep, just as I like it.
    Reminds me of the LCY takeoffs in the UK.
    Interesting weather on the later part of the flight, those mammatus clouds can throw you out of your seat if you're not belted in.

    I've done this flight several times myself as a Rhode Islander. I noticed a lot of people buy the popcorn from Midway.

    WOWOWOW!! Great view of Downtown Chicago!! I admit that seeing that made me think of the 2 Transformer movies where they were in Chicago.
    Good views of the clouds coming into PVD. And good view of the Patriots plane!

    I like Southwest but I think they should use more subtle colors for their livery. Artists call the Southwest colors "straight from the tube". Whereas IMO they should be toned down and/or more harmonious colors used. My favorite livery is TWA's last and final paint job. Really just stunning. And the people that designed AirCal's livery knew what they were doing.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому +1

      Obviously, I don't talk during flights. It would ruin the videos. In fact, I try to make it abundantly clear to people around me that I'm not interested in conversing haha. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm sure the person sitting next to me is nice and fascinating. But, I'm trying to do a job and film. I wear large, over ear, headphones at all times when I fly. Even so, you'd probably be surprised by the number of people who still try to talk to me... Anyway, I don't mind if other people talk around me, they can if they want to but I'm not going to talk. I always say, I can control my seat, I can't control my seat mates. I do often wonder though, how people can talk for entire flights haha. I sure couldn't talk that long.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому

      Thanks my friend! I'm glad you enjoy the channel. No, I don't fly everyday. What I do is fly enough on the days that I do fly, to get enough footage to post daily. I typically fly around 8-10 days per month. On those days, I sometimes fly 3, 4, even 5 segments per day. Even at 3 segments per day, over 8 days, that's 24 flights per month.

    Great vid! How come the opening clip was looped 4x?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому +1

      That's a great question. One that I don't know the answer to haha. I edit each video. I then go back and check each clip and transition to make sure there aren't any problems. I then export the video and upload it. So, I did something after I checked this file and somehow duplicated the clip 4 times haha. Oh well. Nothing I can do about it now!

      @@sla31 I would love to upload them but the problem is when I upload them to UA-cam the video quality gets very bad and I believe it’s because once you get higher views and subscribers UA-cam notices and fixes it or something it’s kind of wired

    Is it just me or is the beginning with the ww2 plane in the airport looped 4 times?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому

      Hmmmm. I literally have no idea why that is doing that haha. You're not wrong though, it is indeed looping for some reason haha. I use a lot of keyboard commands to add transitions and copy and paste things when I'm editing. You know to make it faster. I must've accidentally done something without realizing it after I'd checked everything. I always go though and check all transitions and cuts to make sure stuff like this isn't in the videos and then export the files for upload. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Oh well, nothing I can about it now.

    Great fly! Have you ever filed US DOT complaint to airlines before?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому

      Thanks my friend! No, I've never filed a DOT complaint over an incident on a flight. Trust me, I'm not looking for trouble on a plane haha, and 99.9% of the time I don't have any reason to complain about the way I've been treated. But I've had a couple instances over the years where I felt... singled out by crew members for unwarranted reasons. I may have even mentioned one of them before. If not, I'll briefly go over it again. I was on an American Airlines flight from DFW-HNL. I was filming, and one of the flight attendants came up to me and said something to the effect of "I guess no one else can enjoy this flight because you won't close your window." I had headphones on so I only caught the second half, as I stopped filming and took my earphones off. To which she said something similar again. And this wasn't a quiet conversation. She made it very clear to everyone around me that I was disturbing other passengers because I wanted to have my window open. She basically tried to shame me into closing my window. Which was very odd to me afterwards, because I wasn't the only person in the cabin with my window open. Also, it was a 787 so she could've just locked the windows if she wanted, but American has told their crews they're not allowed to do that. Anyway, it was fairly clear to me after the fact, that she just wanted the windows closed because what happens when it's completely dark in the cabin? People go to sleep... She was mad that I was keeping people awake, which meant she had more passengers in her section of the cabin awake. I was pretty hot after that flight. I wasn't doing anything to anyone else. I was enjoying my window seat, that I paid for. I wasn't filming other passengers, and she didn't even mention that I had been filming. But, before I complain to the DOT I give the airline in question a chance to rectify the situation. I'm Platinum on American and I emailed the customer serviced department and explained what happened. I also explained how I felt it was very unprofessional of said crew member to seemingly single anyone out for something as silly as having a window open... American agreed that the flight attendant shouldn't have acted that way, told me they would speak to her as I had gotten her name (although I have no idea if that ever happened), and they gave me 20,000 AAdvantage miles as an apology. Which was sufficient for me, and I considered the incident resolved. Interestingly enough, as I think about this. The only other time that would raise to this level was also on American, where they once again gave me 15,000 AAdvantage miles for another incident with an overzealous flight attendant. Now, again... I am not looking for trouble on flights. I've flown nearly 700,000 miles in the last 10 years alone and those are the only two incidents that I can think of where I wold've even considered a DOT complaint. But both times, American and myself reached a agreement where I didn't feel its as necessary.

      There was a bit of a rainbow flare there for a second. I think it was a reflection in the window though. I don't think it was an actual sundog. I could be wrong, but that's my thought. Thanks for watching!

    First flight into PVD?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому

      No actually. I’ve flown to PVD before and it’s here on the channel. I’m on my phone at the moment, I don’t have the exact links. But both previous flights were on American ERJ-190’s before they were retired.
