I think there is a rule in disc golf that says if you are named after a disc you have to throw that disc. Joseph Berg throws a berg, Rock needs to throw a roc.

A player could argue the playing area didn’t remain clear during his putt, which would restart his 30 seconds, or at least pause them.
I love Ian and Philo. Ian was my intro into UA-cam disc golf and his sincere enjoyment of the game really shines, and Philo just teaches you what to do as you watch. So good.

Took me a few holes to realize Rock (the player) was not snapping out Roc (the disc) 450 ft on drives. Ian kept saying, "Rock" and I thought he was calling the disc. I was like....WHy would that dude be throwing a Roc on this tee shot???!!!!

I think fans overplay that people are reticent to call time violations because they are afraid to enforce the rules. If there was a clock handy, lots of people would call it. Personally, I don't feel comfortable because I don't have my phone out to time it and would never waste mental energy doing that. 43 seconds may be really clear on coverage, but in a tournament, its heresay without an actual clock. I wouldn't be suprised if someone told him, 'Hey watch the 30' after that, it just wasn't covered.

I hate the foot fault police but yeah, Kirkland's second throw on hole 6 should be called. His foot placement gave him a clear advantage on the shot. Oh well, he missed the putt for birdie so it doesn't feel too bad.

Agreed, rules are only as good as enforcement of them. Elite series at least need to shrink the field size and have rules official with either every card or on every hole. The DGPT should forge the way with this
@@NFS305 At least in Finland A-tiers, Finnish Pro Tour etc. have volunteers as officials and often officials are also spotters. It is not easy to get free help these days. I hope it is easier in the US. I don't know how much voluntery work and free work you do, but it is more and more difficult to find people who are willing to spend 2-3 days in a tournament for free. They get 1-2 meals a day and days can be 12 hours long. TD's would love to have more officials and more spotters. Good thing is that official's exam is cheap.

The lunches aren’t enough fuel for a long day in the heat. Some of the players are divas and take their frustration out on us. Some are very thankful. But overall not the best experience to keep me coming back for three days and multiple years. I’m single with very little responsibility as well. And I’m ok with taking time out of my life to take an exam but I’m a disc golf addict, a bit of an outlier. I think it’s very difficult to ask a “regular” person to go through all of that. There’s a bunch of logistics out there and volunteers need to be taken better care of. 💯
I think Kirkland did foot fault at 22:55. The self officiating is just tough, because you always kind of seem like a jerk for calling it. In most situations, people just let everything slide from what I've seen.
Cupcake is hard to watch when he's putting, like Nikko level, maybe worse cause all the little pump fakes. I could never think about taking that long, for fear of missing the putt after taking a ridiculous amount of time, just silliness.

He didn’t take more than 30 seconds (at least as far as the video shows) on hole 5. But was almost 50 seconds on hole 2 so..

PDGA needs to start legitimately enforcing putting time limits in the A tier and elite tourneys. No reason to have the rule if it's poorly maintained.
