- Here's my review of the latest LEGO Technic motorcycle set, the 42107 Ducati Panigale V4 R.
The model has functional steering, front and rear suspension, and a V4 engine with a 2 speed gearbox driven by the rear wheel. Check out all the details of the building process and the presentation of the set in the video!

I’m extremely impressed that LEGO was able to fit in a speed transmission gearbox in such a small bike! In the past, we’ve never seen anything like this with a bike, and I didn’t even think it was possible!
Same, it's really impressive.
One of my friends is a huge fan of Ducati and has one of his own, different bike, so I am going to get this set for him

Great set and excellent play value. Modifications done so far: the substitution of the 8420 windscreen, new brake calipers, rearview mirrors and the additional shock absorber to balance out the rear. Working now on an alternative old school design using the same gear box and engine.
Finished the old school alternative resently...this set is definitely one of the most under rated Lego Technic motorbike sets.

I bought a Dodge Ram pickup truck back in 2001. It came with 235 hp. I can’t believe the hp on this thing. Thanks for going over the new parts. Another awesome job sir!

Man, I love this build. I got it a few weeks ago for 40€. First time I actually got a good Lego deal. I think it was a steal for that price. It is really cool to go through the building process again.
Funny thing: Once I got into the page where the gearbox is tested I found out I forgot to put the 1st gear on. The motor only turned in second gear and it took me a while to understand what was happening. I'm kind of a Lego newbie so it was clearly a noob mistake. Going back and disassembling at least 15 building steps wasn't the "thrill and joy" I was looking for when buying Technic sets, for sure.
Same here. I don't know what I've done wrong exactly but im going from step 53 back to 26😅
Were you able to get both gears to turn the motor? When I tested it, I definitely had both gears installed, but only first worked - second wouldn’t engage at all. I noticed the downturn doesn’t engage the internal gear shafts to activate 2nd… can’t figure out what the problem is.
The set looks so cool.
Finally got this set, I'm so satisfied with it.
This set is amazing and also, so is the video, as always. Your videos are amazing, in this one, I love the way that you stopped at important parts of the build instead of a timelapse. I find that more informative and it shows the new pieces and techniques
If lego make a kawasaki ninja set on the future I hope they add the katanas too 😂😂

Great overview of a great set! Is it possible to rebuild the stand in such way that the motorcycle does not fall from it by using only the parts from the kit?

Very good review. I was evaluating this Lego set to do a speed build in mu channel since I like motorcycles a lot.
They already sold out by the time I ordered one on the morning of release day, will have to wait for delivery in July.
I have this set and I've done some modifications/upgrades on it (some from Rebrickable, some of my own design), but even in its out of the box form I think it is simply fantastic. Even the new BMW doesn't feel as tempting, as one of the things that impressed me most was the Ducati is purely Technic build.
How long would you say it takes to build this set?

bit late to the party, but i've just built this one in bricklink studio, and i was convinced i'd got something wrong with the stand as it kept detecting it colliding with the rear tyre. I guess it's just like that.
though the stand really does seem to be the weakest part of the set, it's clearly just too narrow and needed to be a few units wider - both for clearance and stability

The solution to the stands is make a beam thats up make it exactly the same as on the other side

Racing Brick I have a suggestion. With the stand add another beam to raise it up so the wheel will function. And with stability you could widen the stand... Hope you see this comment I’d love to know your thoughts. Thanks for the great review!
If you raise it with one beam then the wheel can rotate, but that single axle in the wheel hub cannot hold it straight up, it will tip over. The stability of the stand can be improved but if you want it to be stable then it needs to hold the wheel as well so it won't be able to rotate.
RacingBrick Ok that’s good to know. I guess it’s a choice of one or the other. It would certainly be nice to have the best of both but it seems it’s not easily possible with the way it is.
It looks like the stand it meant to pin the wheel in place.

This one is a bit taller than the original bike. The real-life version has a lower profile and more aggressive to be honest.

Few things:
I realy hoped the shock absorbers would have some sort of damping.
The -"error in the instructions"- is no error (my fault, misunderstanding). All arrows go kind of "inside" the holes and point at the upper left quadrant of the hole border. The part with the wrong cross hole and the cross of the correct one even cover the tip of the arrow.
The catanas are a great solution :o
Are you going to review the T-Lego Lambo from Cada? :)
Well I did not call it an error, but a potentially confusing step :) Changing the camera angle would definitely help to avoid it, I'm sure others will also fall for it.
About the Cada set I'm not sure yet if I can squeeze it in my schedule, we'll see.

What scale is this? If it is 1:8 scale, then I will be interested in getting it to go along with LEGO's 1:8 scale cars.

For what age do you recommend this set for?
It's a 10+ set, but I think even younger kids can build it if they have some experience with Technic

It's so random that you can only buy it in Europe now... I understand that it is harder for lego to pump out larger sets but this isnt that big, plus it's a really big gap for when it will be available in the us
I don't think it is related to the size of the set, maybe they think it'll sell better at that time of the year

Please can someone tell me what that motor he used to spin the back wheel is called because I want to buy it
It's a Power Functions Large motor but you cannot buy it new anymore. For such purpose literally any motors will do.
@@RacingBrick okay any motor works but then how do I connect it to the back wheel (I’ve ordered the Ducati and it’s arriving Tuesday) I don’t have the bike so idk what fits
@@H17388 I don't remember exactly, I think I replaced the rear axle with a longer one and that was connected to the motor

Took me three hours, but I'm a 58yo novice with arthritic fingers like sausages.

A cheap way to get orange gearbox thing
I can forgive the missing seat and the non-sequential gearbox, but not the engine that is off-center in the frame! Unacceptable error in my opinion...

Imádom a legót és Ducatit, de ez a készlet annyira gagyinak tűnik, mintha egy 10 éves gyerek tervezte volna. Nem hiszem el, hogy ennél többet nem lehetett volna kihozni belőle. A színét leszámítva nem nagyon hasonlít, és az, hogy nincs első sárvédője, egyenesen taszítóvá teszi számomra. :/
Szerencsére a LEGO a végtelen lehetőségek tárháza, tehát ha úgy érzed hogy jobban építesz mint egy 10 éves akkor ideje megmutatni a világnak hogy kell ezt rendesen csinálni ;)
Bárcsak rendelkezésre állna az építőelemek teljes tárháza! Amúgy nagyon jók a videók, csaknígy tovább! 😉
