The funny thing is acting like people with a knife in Val only spent the $50 on that single knife. Most of my friends who play a lot drop 80$ on the collections, have multiple knives, plus random night market skins, battle pass, etc. To be fair, yes, if you only have $50 to spend on a single transaction, you can get a cooler knife in valorant. Then again, what do skins even mean if they aren't priced/able to be traded based on their market value? Being cool to look at in-game isn't the only value of CS skins.

Valorant is over watch with cs mechanics realistically. Counter strike is an actual tactical shooter. I’m valorant everyone has access to the same weapons but the abilities are fucking ridiculous. In cs everyone has access to the same weapons for the most part except for m4 to ak and aug to sg. But in terms of utility everyone has the same thing. Smokes, flashes, nades, Molly, and decoy. You don’t have insta flash pigeons, an orbital death laser, or someone who can create a site wide earthquake on demand.
Mechanically CS is better always has been. But In Valorant aiming can only get you so far, so two of these games have different approach in gameplay. With what's going on right now with CS2, Valorant is better overall. It has nothing to do with who's audience is more mature, because it's neither. If you hate an fps game because it has agents and abilities, then it's not the game's problem, it's you who can't adapt, or you're lazy to adapt. Although I can say CS does punish you more with risks you take, no revives, no heals, only mechanical aim, strats and common utilities. Valorant just makes things interesting, it doesn't favor you too much on kills, depending on the agent selection for your opponents.

From a coding standpoint, I gotta say Valorant is better, at least from a dev's perspective. CS def has nostalgia points but I'm talking from a technical side. With around half the size of CS, Riot Games managed to produce a game that can compete on par with CS, that is at least 10gb of stuff gone. Less assets, and more visually appealing to more people. Sure, it is cartoonish and more geared towards younger kids, but if I was a developer I would want more people to play my game. Having characters make it easier for players to get more invested into the game. Many of the most played games use unreal engine with cartoony graphics because it appeals to more people. In only 1 or 2 years, Valorant is already competing with the top shooter games, while CS struggled up there, but that's partially because they were pioneers. Riot Games just knows how to appeal their games to more people. Just take a look at LOL. If I were to create a shooter game, I would opt for something more similar to valorant than CS.
