Thanks for an awesome job on Fanny Crosby. I am currently reading a book about her called Fanny Crosby's Story of Ninety-Four Years by S, Trevena Jackson. He personally knew Fanny and he wrote the book based upon his meetings with her. One thing in the book that struck me as a great characteristic of Fanny was her passion for souls. In the book the author said that Fanny could have been a very rich woman had she cared to become one but she poured out the wealth of her heart and mind to make others happier and better. It also said that when she was presented a donation to her from a church or individual she would protest that she was given to much and so she often shared what she received with those who needed it more than herself.
That's really cool! She had such a sweet soul. It really burns me up a little how the copyright laws worked in her time, how the tune composer pocketed almost all of the money from publication sales. Several sources I came across said she was paid something like $2-$3 per hymn on submission, then the tune writer got all the royalties going forward. But she was so self-less, it seems, she was just so grateful for anything. Never complained, never quit, just did the LORD's work to the best of her ability. Grateful for you!
Loved the first part on Wesley, loved this video on Fanny Crosby, looking forward to the other two! I feel like I learned a lot about this awesome woman and the love she shared. Wow, what a testimony of God’s goodness, His plan.
Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun, glad you enjoyed it. Let me know if there's a hymn writer or hymn you'd like to know more about, and thanks for watching!
This #LentChallenge is something that honestly came to me in the moment as I was filming, and now that I've put it down and documented it like this, I feel like I HAVE to do it for Lent this year! Who else is going to take on this CHALLENGE with me?
👍 This idea that blessings can sometimes be things that we DON'T like or DON'T appreciate when it happens hit me right in the gut today. That's exactly what I needed to hear.
Of course! Glad you enjoyed it, let me know if there's another hymn or humanist that needs to be shouted out and maybe they'll make an appearance in a future video
