When I was a kid, I had a fairly extensive number of warrior cats books, like up to #14 or something? And all of a sudden the books started saying "catmint" instead of "catnip" and I was so disturbed by the change of author's voice that I looked them up online to find that it was actually different people ghostwriting under a pseudonym.
Anyway, I felt so betrayed by that knowledge that I stopped reading them and donated all my books.
I had strangely high standards as a child. 😂 🤷🏻♀️

I used to love them as a kid/young teen, but gave up roughly after the second arc because the Star Clan shenanigans and other, I dunno... magical elements became too prevalent. It simultaneously became too dark and yet not enough down to earth for me. From what I know, today's fandom is quite a cesspool too. Still cherish my early memories though!
even the first series was written by 3 people so its always been like that. one of the original writers might have just not been involved in the later books tbh, or maybe they got a new team

The only moment from these books I can remember in detail is when Tigerstar gets disemboweled by some outsider clan that somehow fastened dog teeth to their claws and the wound is so grievous it robs him of all 9 of his lives instantly.
I remember thinking "how did that cat fasten dog teeth to a collar?" It was edgy af
